Mother Floresta Conard Cobb was born to the late Walter and Adell Conard in Hernando, Mississippi on November 24, 1938. She began her educational journey in the DeSoto County school system, and later moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she attended Capleville School and Geeter High School. In 1958, she married the late Johnny Cobb, Jr. She was saved and made a special effort to exemplify the love of Christ in word and deed. She joined the Powerhouse Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Superintendent W. E. Garner, and continued to serve faithfully under the leadership of Elder Samuel Garner and Elder Robert Peggs. She remained a devoted member of Powerhouse for sixty-three years until her health failed. She answered her call to do the Lord’s work and her ministry began. She served as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, member of the Good Shepherd Committee, and as a Prayer Warrior. With a unique gift for loving others and bringing people together, Mother Cobb was an excellent cook and seamstress. She used her impeccable gift to make dresses and suits for her children and others who loved her craft. In the kitchen, she was famous for her butter roll and for her strawberry and caramel cakes. With her loving and kind-hearted spirit, she prepared Sunday dinners and invited saints from far and near to enjoy great food and fellowship. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. To cherish her memory and continue her amazing legacy, she leaves five children: Vincent Cobb, Albert Cobb (Bridgette) of Southaven, MS, Shirley Cobb, Earnest Cobb and Debra Cobb; three grandchildren: Evan, Brianna, and Malik; her siblings: Will (Freddie) Earnest (Marilyn), Morice (Ora), Addie, Jerdean and Mordean (George); and a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family who will miss her dearly.
