Life Reflections

On Friday, February 7, 2020, at Methodist University Hospital, God in His infinite wisdom, called Marcellus Marvelle Love home to his eternal rest. Marvelle was born on June 22, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee to Patricia Lee Love and James Thomas. Marvelle accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of twelve at Michigan Church. He attended Covert High School in Covert, Michigan where he played foorball, basketball, and ran track. He later attended and graduated from Northside High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He most enjoyed being at Northside High School where he had many friends and was a part of the Imperial Gents Club. He was such a cutie that he won Most Attractive as one of the Senior Superlatives for the Northside High School Class of 1986. Marvelle started working at an early age and always had an incredibly strong work ethic. He owned and operated Love’s Home Improvement, where he took pride in remodeling homes and roofing for numerous long-time clients who would continue to call on him for their home repair needs. His greatest love was cooking for family and friends at gatherings and fellowshipping. He was a wonderful dad who loved his kids and enjoyed spending quality time. During his down times, he loved fishing. He has always been very stylish, independent, kindhearted, compassionate, and very giving. His personality was infectious, and everyone who knew him loved him! He always had a smile on his face and would do anything he could to help someone in need. Preceding him in death are his parents, Patricia Lee Love and James Thomas; one brother, James Thomas (aka Peete), and two sisters, Kamita Thomas and Kendra Dillon. To treasure his legacy, he leaves his children: India Brown Love, LaQuiesha Love, China Love, Dallas Lawrence, Justin Love, Dorian Love, and Montana Love; two grandchildren: Raygan Wright and Gabriella Grace Conway; four brothers: Pechone Love (Lisa), Michael Douglas (Glenda), Michael Thomas (Towanda), and Gary Anderson; twelve sisters: Angela Love, Marsonette Williams, Jackie Hayes, Angela Guy, Princess Pipkin, Anita Clayton, Thelma Pointer, Kim Cole (Joe), Keena Thomas, Connie Burse, LaShundra Worthy, and Tonika McCaine; and a very special friend, Paulette Wilkerson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

God Only Takes the Best

A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest! It broke our hearts to see you go. God only takes the best. They say that memories are golden, well maybe that is true, But we never wanted memories, we only wanted you.
