She was ordained as a Deaconess on March 5, 2006, and accepted the call to ministry in 2013. In her professional and ministerial journeys, it is obvious that her life is committed to helping others excel. She finds fulfillment in helping others to reach important goals in life and in their spiritual walk. After receiving a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Lemoyne Owen College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Leadership from Webster University, she decided to use her background in Business to strengthen her mission of ministry! For over twenty-five years, she has served as Program Manager of Emergency Shelter Placement at Metropolitan Inter-faith Association (MIFA) in Memphis, Tennessee. This program helps families with minor children secure temporary shelter if homelessness cannot be avoided. It also involves mediation and diversion to assist families in overcoming a number of barriers that could lead to homelessness. Even in her professional capacity, Wilma uses her education and knowledge as a platform to exercise her sincere love and passion for helping God’s people. Making a strong effort to exemplify the fruits of the spirit in her everyday walk, Wilma’s favorite passage of scripture is found in Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (NIV)
