Her Parting Words

_________________________________

“GOOD MORNING! ‘In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.’ That verse says everything. The Bible says we are to give thanks for what happens in our lives. We shouldn’t complain because it could be worse. I learned to do that; although in a lot of situations it really hurt. But you have to take it like a champ. But love can change any situation. Just love and trust God. He can change or turn anything around. I love all three of yall. Have a wonderful day!” Auntie, We Love You, too! After our Dad passed, you were determined to continue his legacy of words of encouragement to us. The absence of your daily exchanges is already missed! Rest in Grace…We will carry the torch now! Love,

Yolanda, April, & Michael Jr. My Everything

I rarely heard you say my name. To you, I was “Madam”, “Mam” or “Suga”. You were determined to be the Life of the Party. You kept me in stitches with your humor and you kept me smiling with your love. I can’t say that I don’t understand because I do. You were ready. And I happy that you’re happy. Thank you for you loving me and for esteeming me every chance you got. You have left the world a better place because you came. Thank you for understanding the assignment. Your Suga,

Temika

LifeReflections Robertstine Louise Payne entered this life on Monday, August 28, 1950, as the eldest of nine children to the late Elder Clarence and Mother Mosetta Bobo of Memphis, Tennessee. An alumnus of the historic Booker T. Washington High School, Robertstine completed her post-secondary education in Administration at a local vocational institution. After graduation, she began to travel and live her best life! She loved to help others and always wanted to be a blessing without needing recognition. Her favorite pastimes included fine dining, shopping, and fellowshipping for hours with family and friends. Lovingly known as “Stine,” she became a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the later Elder George Royal, where she was saved and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Pastor Royal’s stern teaching demanded that the Saints have the “REAL Holy Ghost” and “to mean holiness all the way!” She served as the church’s Secretary for a time and later became the Sunday School teacher for the youth ministry. While able-bodied, Robertstine loved praising God and would even run a lap or two! Also affectionately known as “Robbie,” she began her federal service on February 9, 1980, with the Office of Personnel Management as a Clerk. She later transferred to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). At HUD, she was employed as a Tax Clerk, responsible for paying tax bills on the mortgages that the department serviced. After reorganization, Robertstine was promoted to Program Assistant. She served as the face of the HUD Memphis Field Office,

assisting visitors as only she could. On September 21, 2012, after thirty-two years of federal service, Robbie began a new chapter of life – retirement. Robertstine transitioned from this life and commended her spirit into the hands of the Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2022. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by six of her siblings: Clarence Bobo, Jr., Amy Bobo, Patricia Bobo-Brown, Annette Bobo-Rivers, Clarice Bobo-Harvey, and Michael E. Bobo, Sr. She leaves to honor and to celebrate her life, her two youngest siblings: Sharon Bobo and Clarence A. Bobo; one sister-in-law, Linda Sudduth-Bobo; one brotherin-law, Jerry Rivers; and twenty-three nieces and nephews who ALL loved her dearly and will cherish the memory and affections of Auntie Stine. The Christ Temple Church of God in Christ family will also greatly miss her along with many caring nurses and staff, and several additional family members, co-workers, and close friends.

When I Must Leave You

When I must leave you for a little while; please do not grieve and shed wild tears, And hug your sorrows to you through the years, But start out bravely with a gallant smile. And for the sake in my name, Live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer; And I, in turn, will comfort you And hold you near. And never, never be afraid to die...for I am waiting for in the sky. Submitted for our Sister with Love from
