Reflections Life

Sandra Kaye Edwards was born to Mildred and Miles Broome, Sr. on December 9, 1953. Her earthly journey ended on September 28, 2020. Accepting Jesus Christ at an early age, under the leadership of Reverend P.L. Honeywood at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, she sang in the Youth and Young Adults, Senior, Women, and Mass Choirs. Her joy for singing extended to performing with the Broome Family Singers at church concerts. Sandra was also a member of the IPB Society #2. A graduate of Nicholas Blackwell School (now Bartlett High School) in Bartlett, TN, she was a talented athlete and standout member of the basketball team. Sandra was employed as a manager with Exxon Mobile Corporation for many years and later as a Bail Bondsman. Sandra enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She was so full of life and loved singing, dancing and making people laugh. Sandra is preceded in death by both parents, her brothers, Dorsey Broome, William Ed Broome, and Miles Broome, Jr.; sister, Mary Jean Walton; and her niece, Patricia Walton. Left to cherish many fond memories of Sandra are: her devoted daughter, Laquita Broome-West, of Martin, TN; her son, Christopher (Kemba) Edwards of Cordova, TN; seven grandchildren: Brittany Payne, Tekayla Cartwright, Teirra Cartwright, each of Martin, TN, Jaelynn (James) Lofton of Memphis, TN, and Christopher Edwards, Justin Edwards, and Brayden Edwards, each of Cordova, TN; two great-grandchildren: Janiya Payne of Martin, TN, and JaMichael Lofton of Memphis, TN; her brother, Maurice (Clara) Broome of Nashville, TN; two sisters: Minnie Ola Broome and Carolyn Cleaves, both of Memphis, TN; and one sister-in-law, Anna Broome of Nashville, TN. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Thought of You

We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new, We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name, All we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part God has you in his keeping, we have you in our heart. ~ Your Daughter, Laquita ~
