Opulent New Build

ELEGANT PANELLED HALLWAY When our clients asked for the interior of their North Yorkshire new build to reflect the richness, style and stature of a stately home, we responded. Working with their individual taste throughout the house, we created a blend of traditional architectural timber work and cabinetry with a varied range of materials; classic marbles, rich walnut and some hints to the more contemporary with the use of the silvered tones of pre-dyed Italian veneers.

Across the hallway we see the full span of the curved walnut door, constructed to mark the entrance to the client’s underground wine cellar.

White Calacatta marble floors connect the spaces throughout the downstairs of this large family home. Traditional painted panelling adds character to the hallway with doors in heavily panelled Walnut. A more contemporary console table made from silvered Italian Ash makes a strong style statement.

This study pays homage to Walnut. Tall glazed walnut bookcases are separated by traditional fluted pillars. The panels to the base cabinets and the fireplace wall are made of book matched burr walnut. The centre panel above the fireplace houses a concealed TV screen operated by remote control from the partner’s desk. The panelling continues around the large bay window and is echoed in the desk. Bronze grills to the bespoke heating manifold cabinet blend in.

The detailed view of the desk cabinetry reveals leather pads to the top and pilaster features.

We added character to this new home with the addition of a handmade, traditionally styled panelled ceiling. The window seat detail echoes the bronze grill styling of the manifold cabinet.

Glazed Georgian panes allow glimpses into this break-fronted bookcase. The cabinetry blends seamlessly into the bespoke fire surround.

Leave the hallway into the dining room via handcrafted Walnut double doors.

OPULENT ENTERTAINING The silvered ash tones and pedestal style from the hallway tables are echoed in the dining room furniture. The chairs bearing a deep studded detail have mirror finish stainless steel shoes to their ebony legs.

The silvered ash table top is further embellished with mother-of-pearl and ebony inlays.

CLASSICAL CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN The long view of this room takes the eye from the lavishly furnished day room seating area, along the stretch of walnut cabinetry, housing various cooling and freezing appliances, to the elegant kitchen area dominated by a trio of chandeliers above the breakfasting island unit.

Painted cabinetry with stainless steel inlays gives a nod to the contemporary in this kitchen layout. The white Aga is built into a panelled chimney breast with mirror back and is flanked by contrasting walnut glazed wall cupboards. The large central island features a raised walnut breakfast bar. The ceiling detail echoes the shape of the island unit below.

In the glazed garden area of this room, the walnut breakfasting table has a distinctive juxtaposed leg design along with a skeletal frame work & tinted glass top. The skeletal framework of the table can be seen through the tinted glass top.

The first floor landing continues the theme of painted panelling and handcrafted walnut doors.

THE MASTER BOUDOIR The grand obelisk four poster bed and cabinetry all feature snake skin inlays. The ottoman to the foot of the bed discreetly conceals an automatic TV.

The snake skin cabinetry detail is echoed in the chaise to the bay window.

The bedside cabinets also have a pull-out reading shelf specifically requested by our clients. The ensuite dressing room and bathroom is door-less but deep panelled reveals define the entrance. A detailed view of the snake skin inlays and elegant crystal tear drop handles.

In the bathroom, a contemporary slipper bath is surrounded by walls of wardrobes and panelled mirrors, tying in with the style of the bedroom cabinetry.
