C’est également un moment privilégié pour célébrer l’aventure HERVÉ GAMBS. 20 ans de créations marquées par la volonté d’étonner, 20 ans de recherches et de passion, 20 ans de voyages et de rencontres, 20 ans de découvertes et de plaisirs partagés. Je regarde avec émerveillement et gratitude le chemin parcouru : depuis la chaise provençale jusqu’aux collections fusion, des bouquets fleuris aux univers urbains de « Paris la nuit » …

It’s a story of an ever more stringent and quality conscious process to produce sobriety, a prerequisite to integrating modernity into our urban lives. I would like to thank all those who play or played a part in this brand’s wonderful adventure as it sought to conquer a new modernity: thanks to those who contribute to the inspiration behind these collections,

20 years of design and creativity, notable for a desire to astonish, 20 years of research and passion, 20 years of journeys and encounters, 20 years of mutual discovery and pleasure. nakameguro japan « Cet appartement est celui d’un ami français installé à Tokyo. J’aime beaucoup l’harmonie qui se dégage de cet intérieur : un subtil mélange des genres et des influences, européennes et japonaises. Un design multiculturel contemporain porteur de traditions.

Dans cet univers monochrome, j’ai voulu travailler avec le vert fusion et introduire une notion de couleur qui réveille et révèle sans dénaturer quelque chose de l’équilibre de cet intérieur. »

“This apartment belongs to a French friend of mine who lives in Tokyo. I much admire the harmony that governs this interior: a subtl blend of genres and influences, both European and Japanese with a contemporary, multicultural design that perpetuates tradition.

Given this monochromatic environment, I wanted to work with fusion green to introduce a note of colour and reveal the balance of this interior without altering it completely.”

BROOKLYN USA « L’atmosphère raffinée de cet appartement new-yorkais est à l’image de ses propriétaires : exigeants, cultivés, réfléchis ; lui graphiste confirmé, elle architecte japonaise, des épicuriens qui ne laissent rien au hasard. De très beaux volumes, des très belles matières, de très beaux objets, de belles proportions, le choix et la recherche d’une simplicité radicale.

Aucune aspérité ne doit troubler cet ensemble très pur, c’est un travail d’intégration des couleurs, des matières, des formes et des proportions : blanc, brun, noir ; le métal, la laque ; des formes très graphiques, très structurées, de grandes jarres, des feuilles géantes… »

Paris FRANCE « Infatigables voyageurs, les propriétaires de cette maison parisienne sont d’un esprit curieux, toujours à la recherche de nouveautés, ouverts sur toutes les cultures. Ces jeunes trentenaires n’en restent pas moins attachés aux valeurs classiques. Cohabitent dans cet intérieur très abouti, une architecture moderne, un mobilier de famille classique, des objets insolites, souvenirs de voyages. Un mélange chaleureux agencé avec beaucoup de goût. Pour confirmer cet univers, j’ai voulu travailler dans la continuité de cet ensemble en soulignant la sensation de bien-être qu’il procure : des feuilles vert nature, des orchidées blanches... »

“Both tireless travellers, the owners of this Parisian house are curious people, always seeking new things, and very open towards all forms of culture. These young thirty-somethings are equally attached to traditional values. In this very impressive interior, modern architecture vies with traditional family furniture and surprising objects, often travel souvenirs. This cosy ensemble is organized with a great deal of taste. I wanted to enhance this atmosphere by emphasizing the feeling of well-being with natural green leaves, white orchids...”

LAGO DI COMO ITALIA « Cette villa en bordure du lac de Côme est la propriété d’un quadragénaire impulsif et extravagant. Un italien bien vivant qui choisit tout, un esprit baroque qui ne renie rien mais ne supporte pas la médiocrité. Je retrouve dans cet intérieur cet amour de la vie, sa générosité, cette folie maîtrisée, une identité bien assumée. Le végétal apporte à cette typicité une note plus contemporaine. J’ai cherché à prolonger le caractère sanguin de ce baroque italien, en travaillant l’association et la tension du rouge et du noir : un rouge qui tantôt s’efface, tantôt explose.»

“This villa on the banks of Lake Como belongs to an impulsive, extravagant owner. This Italian bon-vivant in his forties chooses everything himself; he has very eclectic tastes, the one thing he will not tolerate is mediocrity. His love of life, his generosity, his controlled chaos and his self-assurance are reflected in this interior. Plants bring a more contemporary note to this unique setting. I sought to extend the fiery character of this Italian baroque by playing on the association and tension between red and black: a red which at times fades, and at other times explodes.”

« Je suis à la recherche de formes et de matières toujours plus simples, évidentes en quelque sorte. La matière simple est plus vraie, elle se détourne des artifices faciles. Elle ne trahit pas le regard et laisse faire le travail de l’assembleur qui dessine et compose une ligne, un équilibre. C’est la pureté de cette ligne qui s’impose et jaillit de ces compositions « Couture », on oublie le vase et la fleur… reste la ligne. Une ligne qui s’intègre et prend vie dans un environnement, dans l’atmosphère d’une maison, d’un appartement. »

“I am currently seeking ever simpler, more obvious shapes and materials. A simple material is more genuine; it spurns facile artifices. It does not try to fool the eye, but allows the assembler to work their magic, shaping and sketching out a line, a balance. It’s the purity of this line that dominates, creating the force of the “couture” compositions: vase and flower are forgotten in the power of the line. A line which melds into an environment, into the atmosphere of a house or apartment, and comes to life.”

Coffret Une f leur - Un parfum Coffret One perfume - One f lower Tel un rituel, ce coffret procure le plaisir du geste répété qui consiste à vaporiser une fleur pour lui rendre son parfum. Chaque coffret contient une fleur « couture », une coupelle carrée en céramique marron et un parfum d’intérieur.

This coffret provides the pleasure of a daily ritual consisting of spraying a flower to highlight its scent. Each coffret contains a couture flower, a square brown ceramic dish and an interior fragrance. 1 1 9

Chaque produit se suffit à lui-même. C’est dans cet esprit que je travaille chacune de mes créations. »

Laque néo-nature « Une feuille pliée, une ligne trop simple pour vouloir s’imposer, des formes élémentaires intégralement recouvertes d’une laque blanche, j’ai voulu dessiner un mobilier d’une grande discrétion : un siège, un meuble, une stèle, des figures qui supportent sans avoir à être supportées. » “A folded leaf, a very simple, understated line, elementary shapes entirely covered with white lacquer: I wanted to design furniture that would be extremely discreet: a chair, a cabinet, a stele - pieces that serve as a base without having a base themselves.”

Cannes de Bambou, tables Hanoi, stèles ajourées et galets réalisés en laque blanche traditionnelle. White lacquered Hanoi tables, open-work steles, bamboo canes and stones.
