Then she realized she should be taking her kids to a regular doctor so she started doing that.” In addition to the physical and social transformation, Barisha experienced a profound spiritual transformation. “The great thing about this Adult Literacy Class program is that it brings in the love of Jesus Christ into these programs. So she started learning about Jesus through her teacher and as she learned about

President Trump Makes Planned Parenthood Defunding Official

President Donald Trump yesterday made his proposed rule official to defund Planned Parenthood of the $60 million dollars that it receives via Title X Family Planning dollars. Last week the president said the rule would be forthcoming and late Tuesday the Trump Administration released the text to the proposed rule,

which will go into effect after a standard 60day public comment period. This is the second time Trump has taken steps to revoke taxpayer funding for the nation’s biggest abortion business — after yanking taxpayer from from International Planned Parenthood during his first week in

office. The proposed rule contains three important parts. The first prohibits recipients of taxpayer funds under Title X from referring women for abortions. The second requires companies that receive Family Planning

funds to maintain separate facilities that do abortions as opposed to having their abortion businesses in the same facility as the Family Planning business. Because that is something

Dear Reverend: I have a little daughter who loves to play “dress-up’ in her princess outfits. It was exciting for her to see a royal wedding on television: the beautiful wedding dress, all the pomp, etc. Yet, in my heart I am dismayed about how people in different countries all over the world – and in the United States – have strayed so far from being Godly. They embrace homosexuality and even make an open show of exhibiting it for all the world to see. Teaching my daughter right from wrong are ongoing instructions in our house. But, who can teach an adult who already knows right from wrong? Dismayed ---

Dear Dismayed: I’m going to answer you from a Biblical standpoint and in my paraphrased manner. Let’s look into God’s word together! In Deut. 29 God made a

covenant with Israel. It was a commandment and that covenant still stands today, because God does not change. People change. They forsake the very God who created them and who created the entire world. God provided everything, supernaturally, in the wilderness so the children of Israel would know that “I Am the Lord, thy God”. I am concerned with our own country, the USA. The USA was founded on Godly principles, yet we have done what is good in our own eyes. We have forsaken our Father God, and we have allowed the “stranger” to come into our midst. People in our own country do abominable things in the sight of God – without shame. We worship other idols – things which we put above and before God, while He stays in the background longing to have fellowship with us. Deut. 29:18

The proposed rule is available for public comment for 60 days after it is published in the Federal Register. The preamble of the proposed rule explains that the statutory authority for the Title X program “contains the following prohibition, which has not been altered since it was enacted in 1970: ‘None of the funds appropriated under this title shall be used in programs where abortion

is a method of family planning.’” The preamble then goes on to state that the Department interprets this section “to establish a broad prohibition on funding, directly or indirectly, activities related to abortion as a method of family planning…The Department has determined that the existing regulations do not ensure compliance with the prohibition” in the original statute. The three new key sections are as follows: Section 59.14, Prohibits Title X projects from referring for abortion “A Title X project may not perform, promote, refer for, or support, abortion as a method of family planning, nor take any other affirmative action to assist a patient to secure such an abortion. The covers try and draw our attention by being curious about the content. The title and designs are to create an expectation or curiosity about the content. I read most of my books on Kindle and when a new one is recommended I check to see if I know the author or what the book is about. But I

Most of us have said or heard the statement “do not judge a book by its cover”. We may know what that statement says, but do we know that it means to not judge someone when you first meet them by how they look, talk, or act? We all still do it though. We can’t help it. We are visual. We look at wrappers on packages that catch our eye but also how we will react to the contents inside. For example, Nick likes “Good and Plenty” licorice candies. must admit sometimes the cover attracts my attention enough to at least read the introduction before deciding to purchase it. Or if the cover looks weird, sinister, ungodly, I go no further. I go on to other book choices. This is true to some extent when we first meet someone and with the way we react to them. If they look or act weird, ungodly, sinister we tend to back away. Last month I wrote of the opportunity to be among over 50 students attending a spirit-filled ministry school for 10 weeks as a liaison/counselor. I was amazed at the many sto-

ries in that room that had covers far different than what was inside. Since I was mostly in the liaison role I had a unique opportunity to see them with their covers first and then as time went on their true colors. Some came from a background of leadership but later showed insecurities that caused them to be very nervous about this program. Then there were those “street-wise” students who started moving into another stage of personal, spiritual growth still carrying deep rooted issues of low self-esteem and hurts, and some who thought they were “all that” eventually showing their deeply rooted pain come through with a vengeance. I also saw myself reacting and being affected by each individual’s uniqueness. In each situation the Lord also showed me something about myself, where I needed to change and grow and how far I’d come in my walk with Him. But most of all the Lord showed me His deep compassion for His

children and the drowning of their true calling in their own emotional pain. By being among 50 people for several weeks I was surprised when I faced many different situations. Even my own rejection by someone in authority. Each person’s cover was a way to protect themselves from realizing the depth of the emotional pain they were really experiencing. When I first counsel someone I see in them a former, self-confident, in control person that has come for counseling because they cannot understand their depression, their rejection, their physical hurt. It took time to get to know them, see how they can be free from that pain and let their true temperament shine through as beginning steps of their healing process. I too could have slipped back into my old patterns of hurt with the rejection, but I chose to trust God and His redeeming love. This was based on my years of choosing to go through the healing process with ministers

An endless chain of mortals being deified produced the concept of the virgin mother and glorified son worship which epitomized the Mariology doctrine within the Papal Church today.

Another concept in Catholicism concerns the belied that Mary was a perpetual virgin. According to Matthew 1:25, Mary’s chastity ended after Jesus’ birth. The scripture clearly states that Joseph knew her not until after she brought forth her first-born son. Biblically to “know” a woman indicated a sexual act. Therefore, it seems clear that Joseph did not have sexual relations with Mary until after the birth of Jesus. The congregation in the synagogue where Jesus grew up as a boy recognized Jesus’ siblings. Members of the congregation said, “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” (Mark 6:3). The apostles Paul said, “But other of the apostles saw I none, save James, the Lord’s brother” (Gal. 1:19). These scriptures show that Jesus had siblings, which disproves the title, “a virgin, ever virgin” and the concept of Mary’s perpetual virginity. The Catholic belief in the assumption of Mary has no scriptural basis at all. Paul tells us that on the re-

resurrection day, “He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you” (II Cor. 4:14). Jesus shall raise up the dead and the living together at the resurrection. As Mediatrix, the Papal Church’s Mary missed the mark again. Jesus said, “whatsoever you shall ask anything in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (Jn. 14:13). The apostle Paul tells us that we can “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need” (Heb. 4:16). Also, he said, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (I Tim. 2:15). It is easily seen that the papal declarations concerning the Church’s doctrine of Mary as intercessory vary considerably from the woman (Mary) depicted in the Holy Scriptures as the mother of Jesus. These few scriptures cast serious doubts on the Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The fictional Mary was created. Like the Babylonian goddesses, by the imaginations of men’s hearts and built on a foundation of sand. The glory and adoration reserved for her son, Jesus Christ, has been transferred to Mary, placing her in an exalted position.

From Babylonian roots of mother worship, of elevating a mortal woman to a glorified status and of creating worship practices to exalt this woman, the pattern spread through many cultures and evolved into a highly accepted and defined doctrine within Roman Catholicism. Departure from Biblical teachings is not uncommon, but one wonders if the many truly devoted worshippers who sincerely desire to honor Christ are aware of the strong similarities between their docfund their activities with privately raised funds.” Of course, Planned Parenthood is unwilling to do so. Abortion is its primary focus, and it already is threatening a lawsuit to stop the defunding. However, the proposal is modeled after similar Reagan administration rules that the U.S. Supreme Court upheld in Rust v. Sullivan in 1991. The proposal comes amid strong pleas from grassroots Americans and members of Congress to defund the abortion giant Planned Parenthood. In April, 154 U.S. House members sent a letter to HHS Secretary Alex Azar asking for a rule to prohibit tax dollars from being use to promote abortions. Title X funds are supposed to be used to help low-in come women and men receive birth control, cancer screenings and other health care services. While the tax money cannot be used to pay for abortions, it indirectly funds Planned Parenthood’s vast abortion

Soon after Trump took office, he signed the Mexico City Policy to prevent the funding of groups that promote or perform abortions overseas. This includes the International Planned Parenthood Federation, which received tax dollars under the Obama administration. In addition, in 2017, the Trump administration cut millions of dollars in grants to Planned Parenthood through the failed Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. HHS spokesman Mark Vafiades told the New York Times last year that there is very little evidence that the program was successfull. However, the abortion chain recently filed a law suit challenging the cuts. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in America, aborting approximately 320,000 unborn babies every year.

Deadly Cuban Plane Crash Kills Pastors and Their Wives By Michael Ireland

HAVANA, CUBA (ANS -A passenger plane crashed Friday near Havana, Cuba, killing more than 100 people including 18 Christian leaders - pastors and their wives. CBN News’ Spanish-language division Mundo Cristiano has confirmed through the Council of Churches of Cuba that the evangelical leaders were from the Nazarene Church. They were traveling back to eastern Cuba, after having participated in a spiritual retreat. “They were leaving an event at the El Nazareno evangelical seminary and were returning to their province in the eastern region,” Maite Quesada of the Council of Churches of Cuba told CBN News. The director of the region of the Church of the Nazarene of Mesoamerica, Carlos Sáenz, also confirmed the news of the death of the pastors. “Let the whole family of the Church of the Nazarene join in prayer on behalf of our brothers and sisters,” Saenz asked.

The Boeing 737 commercial aircraft, rented from the Mexican firm Global Air, owner of Aerolíneas Damojh, crashed minutes after taking off from the José Martí International Airport, in Havana, heading towards the city of Holguín at the eastern end of the island. The authorities state that there are three surviving women, hospitalized and in critical condition. “It seems that there are a high number of victims,” said Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel hours earlier, who visited the site of the incident, where a huge plume of smoke was raised, according to El País. The president has said that the possibility of survivors is not promising. “On behalf of the Cuban government and the (communist) Party, we re gret the fact, and we join in the condolences of the families,” the president added. In a CNN report, by CNN’s Patrick Oppmann reporting from Havana,

do Rodríguez Dávila said there were 105 passengers on board, including one infant. Five passengers were foreigners and 100 were Cuban, he said. Argentina’s Foreign Ministry said two passengers were Argentine. Orestes Bentancour, who lives near the crash site, told CNN that he was drawn out of his home by the “enormous noise” the plane made on takeoff. He said the plane appeared to swerve to one side and revved its engines before crashing. Five crew members on board were Mexican nationals, according to Mexico’s Civil Aviation Authority. Global Airline, which operated the flight, said there were six crew members, all Mexican nationals. The nearly 40-year-old Boeing 737-200 was owned by the Mexican airline Aerolíneas Damojh and leased to Cubana de Aviacion, the Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement. and crashed about six miles from the airport. Search and rescue personnel descended on the area -- with some residents helping -- as firefighters tried to extinguish the flames, according to photos and video from the scene. The Granma report included a photo from an airport terminal of a towering plume of black smoke rising in the distance. A large fireball followed by a plume of smoke was visible near the airport on the outskirts of Havana, according to witnesses. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel was at the scene of the accident, the newspaper reported. Diaz-Canel later offered his condolences to the victims’ families and told reporters the cause of the crash was under investigation. Cuban State TV announced two days of mourning, during which flags will fly at half-staff. Former Cuban President Raul Castro, recovering from recent hernia surgery, is aware of the crash and is staying informed about the situation, the government said. Mexican President En-

rique Pena Nieto offered his condolences via Twitter. Boeing issued a statement of condolence and said, “A Boeing technical team stands ready to assist as permitted under US law and at the direction of the US National Transportation Safety Board and Cuban authorities.” Holguin is more than 700 km (about 435 miles) east of the Cuban capital. Cuban state media originally reported the flight was bound for Guyana. Cubana de Aviacion -- the national carrier -- has had to ground some of its aging fleet because of safety issues, though the cause of Friday’s crash is unknown. Thursday, Cuban First Vice President Salvador Mesa met with Cubana officials to discuss problems plaguing the airline. In November 2010, a domestic passenger plane with 61 passengers and 7 crew members crashed in central Cuba, according to state media.
