Hillsborough County Reverses and Recognizes Churches as Essential TAMPA, Fla., April 2, 2020 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hillsborough County Council
just met and voted to reverse its order from law last Friday. At the recommendation of County Attorney Beck, the council voted to recognize churches as “essential.” Mayor Castor wanted to impose the 10 person and six-foot social distancing restriction on churches, but the council voted against her recommendation at the advice of counsel. Any future guidance the county may issue will be recommendations and not enforceable. Last night, Gov. Ron Desantis also amended his executive order from April 1 in which he recognized attending “religious services conducted in churches, synagogues and houses of worship” as “Essential Activities.” The order from April 1 still allowed local governments to impose greater restrictions. Gov. Desantis amended the order to require his order to be uniform across the state of Florida. Churches are now recognized as “essential” and providing “essential
activities” everywhere in Florida. Liberty Counsel was hours away from filing a federal lawsuit against Hillsborough County. The County Council knew that lawsuit was forthcoming. As a result, the lawsuit will be placed on hold. Sheriff Chad Chronister made many false statements this week about The River at Tampa Bay Church and Pastor Howard-Browne. Those statements must be retracted. His statements also placed Pastor Howard-Browne and the church in physical harm. Pastor Howard-Browne has received abusive words and death threats since Sheriff Chronister’s press conference on Monday and his media circuit. Liberty Counsel is calling upon the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office to provide protection to the church. Liberty Counsel is also calling upon Sheriff Chronister to provide in writing an assurance that he will not arrest anyone Continuation on Page: 2

Something I really don’t want to share with the world but nevertheless I feel like someone else is going through or has gone through what I just did. I’m not a very good storyteller so bear with me if you’re interested and want to read until the end. It started February 18th this year and resulted in an ER visit this last Sunday March 8th. I’m not sure how to describe the exact symptoms or feelings, but I’ll try my best. Starting from the top, December 31st, 2019 I was fired from my job at Lexus, I’ve since been unemployed but decided to play poker for a living. Life was going great, I was making frequent
trips to Tunica, MS weekly and winning! I decided to take a trip to Florida from February 16th - the 18th to catch the end of a World Series of Poker Circuit Event in Tampa. That event had never been to Tampa before, so I really wanted to be a part of the first. The trip was great, it was a daddy daughter trip for Samantha and I, as well as a poker trip. When I arrived, I played poker, stayed at my Dad’s house, visited old friends, spent time with my Mom, I really squeezed a lot into such a short time of being there. The Spirit Of Truth Dear Reverend: So much emphasis is put on prayer and praying! This is okay for pastors, but I just don’t have time to sit around in some room doing nothing. So, I just pray while I’m doing laundry, cooking, or walking my dog. Doesn’t this qualify as ‘pray without ceasing’? It looks so nice in pictures when I look through Christian magazines; men and women with cups of coffee, tinkling water fountains. And in the background, soft pillows and music softly playing. prayer time. Let’s look at Peter in Acts 10. I became so excited when I studied this with my hus band today. Because of Peter’s faithfulness in praying, Jesus sent a vision to him while he was on his rooftop! The heavens opened and what descended appeared to be a great sheet let down to earth. There were all manner of things in this sheet that Peter knew were unclean for a Jew to consume: four-footed creatures, fowls, unclean things. Jesus said, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat.” But Peter said, “Not so, Lord; I’ve never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” Again the voice spoke, for the second time: “What God has cleansed, call not that common.”
Now in Caesarea, a Roman centurion named Cornelius (his name meaning ‘beam of the sun’), a devout and God-fearing man who was disgusted with the Gentile paganism of his day, turned to God. But he did not have a full understanding of the gospel of grace. Cornelius became the first converted Gentile, and through his conversion, the door of faith was opened to the Gentiles! We are not common! Because Peter was a devout, praying man, God used him in a great way. Read the story! “Now there is no difference between Jew and Gentile!” Romans 10:12. In Christ, we become one! God sent a holy angel to Cornelius to prepare for a
visit from Peter. So you see, Peter’s prayers changed the whole course of things! Just like your prayers and mine make a huge difference in our lives and in the lives of others. Forget all the finery, music, snacks, etc. Just find a quiet place to pray for our country, our families, our churches, our pastors – for God Across America and across the entire world. This time of shutdowns and staying home, shortages of things, turmoil, earthquakes, famines, pestilence and virus has brought about a big focus on God, and a time to pray and witness. A time to trust God. Today is the day of salvation. Make certain that YOU have converted, just like Cornelius did long ago. God has done everything for us already. This is my final one on more practical means to overcome the verbal pain from gossip and slander either we have received or given. Previously I focused on just one example from the clients I’d ministered to over the years, but this time I want to reinforce this topic by offering some practical tools to help us in a deeper revelation of how hurtful it can be not only to someone, but how devastating it can be to the one actually doing the gossiping. Gossip and another form of it is called hearsay. Hearsay is repeating something without verification. Even in biblical times as long as there were more than two people on earth, their words about someone else have been a problem. But there are times when we do talk about someone when they aren’t present, and it is appropriate and even necessary. For example, Gossip is when we tell a secret and were asked not to share. When we tell a secret even if we weren’t instructed not to share. We tell a story we don’t know if it’s true. We talk about someone that makes them look bad and the listener would form an unflattering opinion. We start a story with “you know, they say…..”. Who are they? Why they are the origin of most of the world’s gossip. Gossip is not when we are having a conflict with someone and share it with a trusted friend, counselor, mentor for guidance and prayer for handling the situation.
Or giving your opinion of another person with words of grace, point out the good in them and leaving the unlovely parts unsaid. This time I want to turn to the person who is on the receiving end of gossip. Which means you, me and every other person alive. How do we respond when we discover that there’s gossip going on about us? I saw an excellent quote that helped me turn to God and truly believe He is in control of the situation. When I hear of the gossip about me, I learn to “boss my heart around.” It’s a tough experience that can “break your heart” when we hear of others using lies against us to come after us. This is when we can boss our heart before it breaks and firmly repeat out loud the promises of God and remembering His power that can help us to calm our anxious hearts. When counseling someone who has been hurt emotionally I have them post scriptures on their bathroom mirror that reaffirms God love for them, that He is in control and that we are still blessed and highly favored as a few examples. A good scripture to quote out loud is Psalm 31:19-20. It will help us to get our eyes off of the gossip(s) and puts them back on God, Psalm 31:23-24. We must realize that protecting our reputation is not our job. It is God’s. Our job is to watch our words, run to God for protection rather than trying to protect our image. Be quiet and pray. Then we will see our hearts be free from the pain and
teach us to trust Him for rescue rather than fixing things ourselves. Then we need to realize that the world is watching and learning. It’s watching how we respond and as we do our part to fix our focus on God and place ourselves in His care, we show that His power and protection are real. Now the big key. How do we stop gossiping ourselves? First of all remember one thing. Those who gossip with you will gossip about you. I read of an excellent tool to keep us in check. “When considering whether to chatter about something, ask yourself first: Is it kind? Is it true? Is it necessary?”. Post it by your phone or near your cell phone, or laptop. Do a biblical study on what God thinks about gossip? 1. Proverbs 11:13 - Gossip betrays confidence, 2. Proverbs 20:19 People avoid gossips. 3. Proverbs 16:20 -A gossip stirs up conflict. 4. Romans 1:29 - A gossip is wicked. In conclusion, I urge us to do whatever it takes to realize what we say can offer life or speak death not only to others but ourselves as well. If you would like more tools to help you, I encourage you to read the book “Keep It Shut” by Karen Ehman. I quoted some of her insights, but she shares so much more that can help us understand what we do to others and ourselves because of our tongues. A Season of Intercession By Sarah Jansson, Evangelist/Prophet | sarahjansson.com In this time of waiting for life to resume to normal, what are we do with our time? Well first and foremost we learn to trust Him, and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways, we acknowledge Him and allow Him to direct our path. Know that He loves you and has your best wellbeing in mind. I have heard the Holy Spirit say to me lately,” Sarah do you trust me? I mean do you really trust
me. Do you really know what it means to fully trust me?” So, I ask you that same question now? “ Do you trust God with your life”? This is a great time to spend time in prayer and intercession for our nation and all the nations of the world. Pray for the families that have lost loved one, and all the people affected by this virus, and so many other things. Bring forth the prophetic
decrees as the Lord leads according to the Word of God. Praying and singing in the Spirit. and lots of worship will bring you into a higher place in Him. Also, it’s a great time to pray with friends on the phone and encourage one another in the Lord. No better time than now to seek the Lords face and draw closer to Him. We will emerge out of this a glorious church ready to bring forth the
last day Revival upon the earth. We will emerge as a body strong, overcoming and soaring like the Eagles. It all starts with getting back to wet wood on the altars. Revival always starts with the fires of repentance and a broken spirit before our God. Crying out as David in Psalms 51,”Create in me a clean heart Oh God, and renew a right and preserving spirit within me.” The Word tell us to seek first God’s Kingdom in all you say and all you do. Seek first God’s Kingdom in every decision you make, and then he will give you the desires of your heart. He says love me with all your heart with all you soul and all your strength. He is a covenant keeping God with his children, with his bride, with all those that have given their lives to Him WE ARE IN A SEASON OF INTERCESSION Joel 2 v 12-13Therefore, says the
Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your hearts, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning, until every hindrance is removed, and broken fellowship is restored. Rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in love and mercy: He will revoke His sentence of evil once His conditions are met.. 15-Blow the trumpet in Zion; Set apart a fast a day of restraint and humility; call a solemn assembly v17- Let the priests and the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, have pity and spare Your people, Oh Lord, and give not Your heritage a reproach 2 Chron.7v 14 If My people , who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked
ways, then I will hear from heaven , forgive their sin, and heal their land. Now My eyes will be opened and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place. Deuteronomy 4:29 says, but if from there you will seek inquire for and require as necessity the Lord your God you will find Him, if you truly seek Him with all your heart and mind, soul and life. Well that’s what I’m doing these days and There’s room on his throne for all of us to sit with Him .... come join me. The Lord loves you and and has a wonderful plan for your life for the days ahead. ...symptoms to subside. Well I pressed on for a couple more hours in hopes it would go away. I made a couple of stops to stretch my legs and try to get some blood flow going. It didn’t work. The last stop I made was at a Loves gas station with a couple fast food restaurants attached to it. I got out of my truck, went inside to use the facilities, and just couldn’t shake the feelings and symptoms I was having. Sam and I decided to get some food from one of the restaurants there. While this is happening, I’m trying very hard to keep it from her so as not to scare her. I walked up to the register to order our food and I nearly passed out, I became extremely dizzy and hardly could understand the questions the cashier was asking me. There were many things going through my mind at that time, mainly what is going to happen to my daughter if I go down right now. It was scary to say the least. Thank Jesus I didn’t pass out and was able to order some food and a drink to try and get better. My daughter and I sat down to eat, and I decided to fill her in, that something just wasn’t right with daddy. I kept it to a minimum and just told her daddy doesn’t feel good and that if something were to happen this is where we are, and this is what to tell your mommy. I called my wife and let her know what was happening and she was very worried and told me to go to the hospital. Of course, being a stubborn man who doesn’t like hospitals or doctors really, I refused. I walked around talking to my wife on the phone with Sam beside me and tried to alleviate the symptoms. They just refused to go away. After
about an hour of being at the station, I decided it was time to get a hotel, I figured it must just be fatigue from such a big and fast trip that we had just made, plus I had gotten up really early for our goodbye breakfast. So, I decided to get a hotel for the rest of the day and night. I called my Dad to let him know what was happening once I got to the hotel and to hopefully get some advice from my Grandpa that lives with him and is a retired pharmacist. My symptoms had calmed but not gone away at this point. My Grandfather said I was having signs of a stroke, but since my symptoms were going away, it probably wasn’t a stroke. He suggested I go to the hospital also, but I refused. I thought if I could just get a good night’s sleep, I’d be ok to make the drive home tomorrow. Before I got off the phone with my Dad, he prayed for me and Samantha, he prayed for healing and a safe trip home. The following morning, I woke up feeling a little better, my head was still foggy, but pretty much everything else had subsided. Sam and I ate breakfast and we were on the road again for the remaining 6-hour drive. During the drive I had quite a few episodes (as I call them) of weakness in my arms and legs. I stopped frequently and mapped out the closest clinics and hospitals just in case. I was dealing with this myself as I was hiding it from the worry filled questions of my wife and family. I just wanted to get home. I stayed in the outside lane and made sure that if I felt very funny at all that I could immediately pull to the side and call for help. Thankfully we
made it home safely without any issues. I thought surely this was over and I could rest and get over that horrible drive home I had just endured. In the coming weeks until now, I just have not felt right, I’ve had some good days, but they’ve mostly been filled with some sort of variance on the symptoms I had on the ride home. I’d go a day feel ok, but then get hit hard the next day. Each time it happened I’d let my wife know about what was going on and how I was feeling. There have been some days that I didn’t mention anything just because I figured it would pass on its own and there was no need to concern Edie with it. However, as the days passed, it really wasn’t getting better, in fact it was getting worse. This past Sunday, having the same symptoms I experienced on the ride home, I decided it was time to go to the ER. This time I had an added symptom though, chest pain with my rapid heartbeat. There was pain in my left arm and pain in my neck, I thought I was dying. We went to the ER and stayed for the day having test after test run on me. Blood tests, nerve tests, CT scan, ECG, X-ray, you name it I probably had it done that day. During the stay, the alarm on the IV machine started going off. Now mind you, Myself and my wife have zero medical experience, we didn’t know what this alarm was going off for. Well it freaked me and Edie both out and caused me to lose it. Full on panic attack, however I didn’t know it was panic at the time (I only assume it was panic after the end of my stay). When this attack happened, they took more blood for more tests. Every test they did came back good, there were no heart attacks, no strokes, no high white blood cell counts, nothing that would explain what was happening to me. So, I was discharged

with a clean bill of health and honestly I felt better after the fluid they gave me. Next day comes. Different things happening to me now...this is where it gets hard to describe. I just can’t seem to wake up, the fog in my head has returned and now I have this immense feeling of fear. Fear of EVERYTHING literally. I was scared to drive, scared of this stupid coronavirus, I was scared I had contracted the virus, I was scared to shower, scared to listen to the radio, scared to read FB, scared of dying, I just had an overwhelming and intense level of fear that I can honestly say I have never dealt with in MY ENTIRE LIFE! Every day that passed it got a little worse. Now mind you I’m a man, I don’t cry, I try my hardest to hold my feelings inside and just deal with it. Well Tuesday night I called my Dad and just lost it, I have absolutely no idea what caused me to break down on the phone with him like I did, but man did I break. I felt like a kid, I could not hold my emotions inside, I honestly can only imagine it to feel like what someone feels like when they have a nervous breakdown. I felt like I had lost my mind, that I literally must be going crazy. This intense fear that I had and the thoughts I was having in my head, I swore I had lost my mind and would not be able to snap out of this. It was the worst feeling in the world. Indescribable really. Well, if you don’t know, my Dad is a Pastor. A God fearing and loving man that I love with all my heart. My Dad talked me through, listened and gave me what I now
believe to be the best advice that both he and my Mom have been giving me all my life. Trust in Jesus, call out to him, tell him you come as you are right now! He is our Father in heaven! He loves us just as my Dad loves me! I’ve grown up with these same words being given to me all my life from both my Mom and my Dad but have never really put action to them, them, I’ve always questioned, wondered, and in some ways doubted. Well I can tell you now, when you feel the way I felt the past few days YOU WILL NOT DOUBT ANYMORE! I called out
to Jesus, God, asked for forgiveness, asked for healing, asked for intervention immediately in the name of Jesus! And man was I surprised! God gave me a song by Kirk Franklin, “He Reigns” it played over and over in my head, I sang it aloud in my shower, and the thoughts and fears quickly disappeared! Part of the advice my Dad said to me among many things was “You cannot battle a thought with a thought, you must speak it out loud!” And man is he right! The following days to now, my Dad has sent me scriptures to study and speak out loud, and I can tell you as of right now at this very moment, I AM
COMPLETELY HEALED OF ANY FEELINGS OF FEAR, ALL OF MY PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS ARE GONE AND I FEEL LIKE MYSELF AGAIN!
Now I will be the first to tell you that I am not a picture-perfect Christian, never have been. I’ve been of my own understanding and views of this world, I’ve done bad things, I’ve never lived
the life of Christ, but I always believed in God and thought for sure I had it figured out. I’ve been in church with my Parents all my life, played drums at my Dad’s church, but never quite grasped what I believe I’ve been introduced to in these last few days. I will never be perfect, and I know this, but Jesus loves me, cares for me and does NOT want me to suffer with sickness and disease and I want to know more of him. I want my family to know more of him, it’s time to start learning more together. My family and I will be finding a church here in Alabama and learn more about what else we’ve been missing out on. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazed I am that there is not 1 thing wrong with me right now mentally or physically. I have many things to work on in my Christian life, but I’m starting with one, and I’ll let God tell me what’s next as I move forward.
