C-Fam’s 5 Worst Moments of 2021 for Life and Family at the United Nations December 31 (C-Fam) Abortion and the LGBT agenda were a central part of the great reset from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are the five worst things that happened last year as the sexual left tried to build the world back “better.” • President Biden Becomes First U.S. President to Back Abortion as a Human Right Biden became the first U.S. president to endorse abortion as a human right when he backed the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2021. In his first 100 days as president, the self-professed “devout Catholic
“showed just how radically pro-abortion he is. He ordered the federal government to fund abortion groups overseas and promised pro-abortion countries in the Human Rights Council that he’d repeal and undermine the Helms amendment. This is new and extreme. Even Barack Obama and Bill Clinton rejected any international obligation to allow or fund abortion. • UN Member States Approve UN Agency Strategic Plans with Abortion and LGBT Agenda The pressure from the Biden administration and the European Union was just too much for traditio-
nal countries to block the terms “sexual orientation and gender identity” and “sexual and reproductive health and rights”. The controversial terms were adopted for the first time in UN agency strategic plans. All the most traditional countries could do is affirm that the terms are not internationally agreed. The inclusion of the terms in the strategic plans of the UN agencies for children, women, and population control will now give UN agencies cover to promote abortion and the LGBT agenda with impunity. • General Assembly Unanimously Adopts Re-
Knowing God with your heart, as opposed to just knowing about Him with your head, is vital to everything you do and to everything you are. As a young teenager, I bought the lie that saving faith in Christ meant mental assent. Though unchurched, I'd read a few books and regularly watched TV shows about Bible end-time prophecy. I'd come to understand intellectually that God was real, and that people have to believe in Jesus to go to Heaven. What I didn't realize is that this belief is a relational faith in a divine Person, not just head knowledge. Saving faith leads to an intimate, heart-to-heart relationship with God. It didn't fully click for me
that God still talks to individual people TODAY through His Word and through the Holy Spirit. I was almost 18 years-old when I heeded God's call and began truly yielding my life to Christ. I started reading the Bible and attending church for the first time. Honestly, when I began learning just how involved God wants to be in people's lives, and in my life specifically, I was terrified. I was a shell of a person to some extent, caring more about how I appeared than what was really in my heart. I couldn't fathom how anyone who knew my hidden thoughts, perfectionism, pride, pain, and pretending could truly love me. Detail-oriented as I am, I made my relationship
with Him into somewhat of a works program and became obsessive compulsive about it (though I didn't have that lingo at the time), convinced I was teeter-tottering over hell with every imperfect word or thought. The Bible had shown me the vulnerable and broken person I really was, but it still felt very unsafe for me to fully trust anyone else, including God. Verses like Psalm 139:8 both frightened me and comforted me. I didn't yet understand Jesus' substitutionary work on my behalf or His abundant grace and mercy toward me. Despite my hang-ups, the Lord was with me, and as I spent time in the Word and in Christian fe-

solution with “Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity” for the First Time The General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution that includes “sexual orientation and gender identity” for the first time. For over two decades traditional countries blocked these controversial terms. Their adoption by consensus showed that support for the LGBT agenda has steadily grown internationally, with ninety countries voting in favor of keeping the terms in a biannual U.S. resolution on elections. It also showed that traditional countries are no longer
willing to block the terms when other political priorities are at stake. This set a terrible precedent. More aggressive diplomacy can be expected from the Biden administration, the European Union, and other progressive nations to promote the LGBT agenda going forward. • Mexican Supreme Court Declares Constitutional Right to Abortion The Mexican Supreme Court caved to pressure from the UN human rights system and declared abortion a constitutional right. Just in 2018 the Court had rebutted this pressure, saying that the recommendations of UN experts were not binding. A political change in the composition of the court flipped it unanimously in favor of abortion. This is particularly hurtful to Catholics.
