Death of King Abdullah May Trigger Attack on Israel By Mark Ellis, Special to ASSIST News Service (Assist News Service/Jan 2015) The highest levels of Iran’s leadership believe there are only two prophetic triggers before the return of their long-awaited messiah and one of them just happened: the death of 90-year-old King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. “Iran’s leaders believe they can facilitate the coming of the last Islamic messiah,” says Reza Khalili. “They believe the centuries old Hadith predicts this and that the time is close.” Khalili ( a pseudonym) was a member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard who became a CIA spy before he escaped to the West. The second trigger is the destruction of Israel. “The first trigger is a sign that the second trigger needs to take place,” he notes. “Once King Abdullah dies, that will tell them the time is now.” This thinking — which may seem fanatical or impossible to Western observers — pervades the highest levels of Iran’s leadership. “He (Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran) told close associates that he will be the one to pass the flag of Islam to Imam Mahdi, the Islamic messiah. Khamenei believes he is the one.” “They will attack Israel and we are allowing them to get the nuclear bomb,” Khalili warns. In 2012, the supreme leader referred to Israel as a “cancerous tumor that should be cut and will be cut.” In 2013 he questioned whether Israel’s leaders are worthy of the “title human,” called Israel “a rabid dog,” and questioned the historicity of the Holocaust. “The Holocaust is an event whose reality is uncertain and if it has happened, it’s uncertain how it has happened,” he said last year. Khalili translated a film authorized by the highest levels of Iran’s leadership, “The Coming is Upon Us.” The presenter in the film makes this claim: “According to the Hadith, upon the death of a ruler named Abdullah, conflict and struggle for power will increase in Saudi Arabia and this will continue until the reappearance of the last messiah, Mahdi. Isn’t the presence of Abdullah, his illness, and his uncertain condition, great news for those anxious for The Coming? When Abdullah dies,
the reappearance is guaranteed.” In audiences where Khalili addresses his concerns, some can’t believe Iran’s leaders could be so irrational. “This is the danger of this regime, which the current U.S. administration is missing. Some people try to discredit me, thinking it’s crazy. That’s the core of the problem.” One of the hadiths the Iranians believe has already been fulfilled relates to the rise of a black leader in the West, ruling the largest army on Earth. According to the film previously cited, its presenter states: “This hadith, relating to Imam Ali, the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law and the most revered figure in Shi’ite Islam, says: ‘Before the return of Mahdi, a tall black man will rule the West and the largest army on Earth. He will carry a ‘clear sign’ from my son, Hussein Ibn Ali [the third Shi’ite imam].’ Shi’ites believe Barack Obama, with his middle name Hussein, is this man.” Khalili’s believes the Iranians will attempt to arm their missiles with nuclear warheads. “Ukraine, North Korea, and China are providing the reentry vehicle for the missiles and they are working on the bomb,” he notes. Once Iran has nuclear-tipped missiles and attacks Israel, Khalili says the Hadith predicts an apocalyptic scenario unfolding, in which one-third of the world population will die and the world economy collapses. Most, but not all of Iran’ senior leadership believe in this prophetic picture. “Those who don’t believe it are there for the money, profiting from trading,” he says. Kahlili teaches at the U.S. Department of Defense’s Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA), is a senior fellow with EMPact America and a member of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security. He is the author of “A Time to Betray,” a book about his double life as a CIA agent in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. “A Time to Betray” was the winner of the 2010 National Best Book Award, and the 2011 International Best Book Award. Teen Submerged in Icy Lake Makes “Miracle” Recovery By Jeremy Reynalds, ASSIST News Service ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (ANS – Feb. 15 2015) — Fourteen-year-old John Smith had lost his battle for life. Three friends were playing on the ice covered lake about 150 feet from shore when suddenly John Smith fell through the ice. Josh Sander tried to grab John’s hand, but the ice broke under him. Josh Rieger then tried lying on his stomach to reach out to his friends, but the ice also gave way under him as well. Two of the boys were able to pull themselves out of the water, but John was not so lucky.For 15 minutes John lay motionless at the bottom of Lake Sainte Louise. John Smith was dead. When members of the Lake Saint Louis Fire and Water Rescue arrived soon after, they saw Josh Sander pulling himself from the water and Josh Rieger clinging to the

Jason Noble, pastor of First Assembly Church in St. Peters, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis), said Brian and Joyce Smith, John’s parents, have been committed members of the church for 21 years, with John attending with them. As Wentzville firefighter Tommy Shine probed the water with a recovery pole hoping to find John’s body, Noble said that

The pole’s hook snagged John’s clothing and Shine pulled John’s lifeless body to the surface. “That was one of the first of many miracles to follow,” PE News reported Noble had said. Joyce says that John had spent the night at his friend’s house, and she had spoken to him by phone at 11:27 that morning. At 11:55 she received a call from the boy’s mother telling her what happened to John, that he had no pulse, and was on the way to the hospital. The ambulance transported John to St. Joseph Hospital West in the city of Lake St. Louis, where Dr. Kent Sutterer was the doctor on call. After performing CPR on John for 27 minutes, and John having been lifeless for about 45 minutes, Sutterer called John’s mother into the room, ready to record the time of death. Son of an Imam a Christ-follower Pakistan (MNN) — Poverty is the main weakness of Pakistani Christians. Pakistan Christian Post reports that influential Muslim men seized and bulldozed the homes of seven Christian families in a village of Kasur. They threatened to kill them and forcibly threw out the families’ belongings on the road. These Muslim men gave the affected families one option to take back their homes and land if they convert to Islam. Although this is tragic, and more and more Pakistani Christians are being persecuted every day, there is hope, and God is still working. The Operation Mobilization Pakistan team shares with people about God in towns and market places, while also distributing literature that talks about how they can have a relationship with God’s Son. One man took a leaflet. He read it and re-read it, but it did not satisfy him. He wanted to know more about the God who wants a relationship with ordinary people. So he began to search for others who knew this God. “Please, can you tell me more about this Christ person?” he asked anyone he thought might be able to answer his question. answer his questions, even though they were religious. But it did not put him off; he continued to search. Then he met believers in Jesus. They had a personal relationship with God and seemed to know Him the way the man hungered for. It excited him, and his questions poured out. They began to meet regularly, and soon the man learned a lot about Jesus and salvation. He read the Bible for himself and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and Friend. As his faith grew, he made a public step of faith by being baptized as a Christ follower. However, others in his village were concerned with his new faith. They went to his father and complained that his son had become a believer in Jesus. What was he, an imam–a Muslim religious leader– going to do about it? “My son is adult and mature; he is accountable to God for his deeds, just as I am accountable to God for my deeds,” replied the father. “If he has become a follower of Jesus, he will have to give an answer to God why he did this. However, I can see he is not stealing things or not doing adultery; he is not doing any wrong thing to create problems for others. He knows what is going on, and his God knows it, too.” The father’s peaceable reply left the complainers speechless. Soon everyone in the village knew the man had become a follower of Jesus, but no one disturbed him, leaving him free to practice his faith and fellowship with a local OM team. Harry Potter is a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I’m so angry over these books in school, yet my son was not allowed to take his Bible to show and tell! The teacher said it might offend other students if he opened it. (My son wants to be a preacher.) Witchcraft is a-OK, but we can’t talk about God in school?!? How did we get so messed up in our beliefs? No wonder our kids are so confused. Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our kids when they misbehave or they would sue them, and we accepted this. Next came abortiuon for our daughters and condoms for our sons-ok, -we are entitled to free speech. TV shows that promote profanity, violence and sex, rape, drugs, murder, suicide and satanic themesok, it’s just entertainment. Now we ask ourselves why our children have no conscience, don’t know right from wrong, and it doesn’t bother them to kill their classmates and themselves. to lose him.” “I didn’t realize at the time they were getting ready to call the time of death,” said Joyce. “I just knew we were in dire need of God. The doctor said I could touch John, so I walked up to his bed, grabbed his feet and started praying that God would send His Holy Spirit to raise him up and heal him. Within moments of praying, they got a pulse.” Joyce said John’s room was packed with people, with a large young man giving John CPR when she entered. When John’s heart began beating again, Joyce says there was no mistaking the surprise on everyone’s faces. A flurry of action ensued. PE News said Sutterer wrote a note immediately following the experience. He said that despite having done everything, he knew nothing was working. “All the resources of this world were being thrust upon this young man with no indication except the cold reality of a young life snuffed out before our very eyes. But the interventions of modern medicine are not what John’s mother was counting on. Spiritual warfare is what she called this. No sooner did John's mother call on the Holy Spirit to bring her son back to her than the monitor started that rhythmic beat, a pulse could be felt in his groin and his carotid artery.” PE News said he continued, “I know that God has given us a gift, even if it is only for a few days. I was privileged to witness a miracle. I was preparing myself to give a mother the final bad news that her son was gone from this world. She had more faith in God than I did. She called on God, and God brought him back. The Holy Spirit came in that room (and) started that boy’s heart once again.” It was a miracle, but God was far from done. With his heart now beating, John was quickly transported to Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis. The doctor on staff was Jeremy Garrett; an expert in dealing with water accident victims. After examining John, Garrett called the

We prayed for about 10 minutes, and then I saw two angels appear, like guardians. The moment I saw them, John suddenly squeezed my hand and opened his eyes; another miracle.” Noble said John quickly closed his eyes and fell asleep. The group renewed its prayer efforts, praying specifically that God would fill John’s lungs with new breath, and for his brain to be restored. “I was praying up by John’s head, whispering into his ear,” Noble said, “when suddenly I saw thousands of whirling, colorful lights around John’s head, like rewiring John’s brain. I told the others in the room what I was seeing, but they couldn’t see it. And then John sat up in his bed, eyes wide open, and grabbed my hand.” Noble sat and prayed by John’s bed from 8 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. for the first week of his recovery. He said that when the doctors tested John’s lungs, expecting to find intense infection due to the intake of raw, dirty lake water, the test came back as

Joyce added an important insight that Garrett told her. He has X-rays and tests verifying his statement. “Every day John made huge improvements,” PE News reported Noble said. He added, “In a little over a week, he was taken off the ventilator and he was able to start talking. And now, after just 16 days (February 4), he walked out of the hospital - totally recovered. He even visited his school to thank all those praying for him, and to pick up his homework.” Garrett, who didn’t expectation John to recover, expressed shock and called this kind of recovery a bona fide miracle. But the miracles didn’t stop with John. Jackson, a young boy in the room next to John’s, was paralyzed, head to toe, having been hospitalized with the flu and then a serious infection for two weeks. His parents were desperate. Having heard of the amazing things happening with John, they sought Joyce out.
‘They all started praying for him. By that night, the boy was sitting up in his bed, singing songs. Now the paralysis is totally gone.’ “They saw all the people in the waiting room praying for John, and they went to Joyce and begged her to pray for their son,” PE News reported Noble said. “They all started praying for him. By that night, the boy was sitting up in his bed, singing songs. Now the paralysis is totally gone, and they expect him to go home in less than a week.” From the prayers of parents, friends and classmates to the hundreds who gathered to pray for John at church and the waiting room, it was all about God answering prayer. “This just shows that God is still doing great things in St. Louis,” he said. “I believe God is raising up a generation and showing His might to them so they will trust and proclaim Him as God,” Joyce said. She added, “God also wants us to know that He cares for us. The word that God is speaking right now is, when you seek my face and come to me, I will do great and marvelous things for you.”

The decision to move the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock is made by the Bulletin's Board of Directors in consultation with its Board of Sponsors, which includes 17 Nobel Laureates. The Clock has become a universally recognized indicator of the world's vulnerability to catastrophe from nuclear weapons, climate change, and emerging technologies in the life sciences.
‘The probability of global catastrophe is very high, and the actions needed to reduce the risks of disaster must be taken very soon.’ The opening paragraph of the statement from the Board reads as follows: "In 2015, unchecked climate change, global nuclear weapons modernizations, and outsized nuclear weapons arsenals pose extraordinary and undeniable threats to the continued existence of humanity, and world leaders have failed to act with the speed or on the scale required to protect citizens from potential catastrophe. These failures of political leadership endanger every person on Earth." The final paragraph of the statement from the Board warns: "In 2015, with the Clock hand moved forward to three minutes to midnight, the board feels compelled to add, with a sense of great urgency: 'The probability of global catastrophe is very high, and the actions needed to reduce the risks of disaster must be taken very soon.'" The last time the Doomsday Clock minute hand moved was in January 2012, when the Clock's minute hand was pushed ahead one minute from six to five minutes before midnight. Since its creation in 1947, the Doomsday Clock has been adjusted only 18 times, ranging from two minutes before midnight in 1953 to 17 minutes before midnight in 1991. The last time the Doomsday Clock was at three minutes to midnight was 1983, when "U.S.-Soviet relations were at their iciest," according to the Bulletin. “The science is clear: Insufficient action to slash worldwide emissions of greenhouse gases can produce global climatic catastrophe. Even a so-called "limited" nuclear weapons exchange will produce massive casualties and severe effects on the global environment ... We implore the political leaders of the world to take coordinated, quick action to drastically reduce global emissions of heat-trapping gases, especially carbon dioxide, and shrink nuclear weapons arsenals.” The statement from the Board includes the following recommended steps:
• Take actions that would cap greenhouse gas emissions at levels sufficient to keep average global temperature from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels. • Dramatically reduce spending on nuclear modernization programs.
