Zither. (1901-1945). Kerber studied in Berlin and Munich and is known for his detailed genre scenes of German folk. Interior scene of a seated man playing a zither with a wine carafe by his side. Signed lower left "Kerber", with plaque, "F. Kerber". Image 15-1/2" x 11", in an ornate frame, 23" x 19" overall. Condition: Very good.

Toledo Type XV Runabout. 11-1/2" x 141/2" overall. Condition: Very good. 204. Doncaster Races Color Print. Race For The Great St. Ledger Stakes, 1836, titled "Approbation - Off in Good Style". Originally painted by James Pollard and engraved by J. Harris. James Pollard (1792-1867) would be well known for his equine scenes as well as his mail coach and fox hunting pieces. Bottom of art is marked "London, Published May 24th, 1837, by Ackerman & Co. 96 Strand". Framed and matted 27" x 37-1/2" overall. Condition: Very good.

Depicts a young boy seated in woodland holding a toy rifle with his hat by his side. Cottage in background. Image 35-1/2" x 28", in a period gilt -molded frame, 45-1/2" x 38" overall. Condition: Good with two old repairs.

207. 17th Century Hondius World Map. "Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographical ac Hydrographica Tabula". By Henricus Hondius hand-colored engraving. Originally published in the Mercator-Hondius atlas, Amsterdam, 1630 or later, double-hemisphere map with elaborate depictions of the four seasons and portraits of Julius Caesar, Claudio Ptolemy, Gerardus Mercator, and Jodocus Hondius. Image 15-1/4" x 21-3/4". Framed and matted 24" x 31" overall. Condition: Good with foxing and toning. Center crease with partial separation. Glued down on a backing.

(Father of Walter Oakley Hoffecker), a Representative from Delaware; born at Mansion House, near Smyrna, Del., September 12, 1827; attended public and private schools; was graduated in civil engineering, and engaged in his profession in Smyrna in 1853; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1876 and 1884; member of the State house of representatives in 1888, and on January 1, 1889, was chosen speaker of the house; president of the town council in 1878 and served continuously by reelection until 1898; unsuccessful candidate for Governor in 1896; elected as a Republican to the Fiftysixth Congress and served from March 4, 1899, until his death in Smyrna, Del., June 16, 1900; interment in Glenwood Cemetery.
