el corso del secondo raid motociclistico 2015 targato “GIVI” i partecipanti hanno esplorato la zona a Nordest di Johannesburg, verso il Kruger National Park. Savana bruciata dal sole? Riserve di caccia riservate ai ricchi turisti occidentali? Luoghi comuni vista la grande varietà di territori attraversati e il sapore di avventura che non ha mai lasciato i motoviaggiatori. 28 partecipanti, 22 moto, tutte rigorosamente Yamaha e tanti accessori GIVI da testare. Ad affiancare i collaudati prodotti GIVI ecco l’abbigliamento tecnico HEVIK. Il nuovo marchio di abbigliamento ha sviluppato e realizzato una giacca tecnica specifica, una linea appareal dedicata e messo a disposizione dei partecipanti capi di abbigliamento adatti al clima e alla tipologia del viaggio: underwear e t-shirt tecnici, completi antipioggia, guanti impermeabili, clothings & sweatshirts, polo e cappello commemorativi. Nel corso del nostro viaggio abbiamo incontrato colline verdissime e attraversato boschi secolari, persino “scalato” montagne di tutto rispetto: in più di un’occasione sembrava di essere nel cuore della Germania e non nel Continente Nero! Questa è un’Africa che non ti aspetti di trovare. Punto focale, le Waterberg Mountains, una vasta area in cui pulsa la “Waterberg Biosphere”, una meravigliosa riserva naturale protetta nella parte settentrionale del Sudafrica, con viste strabilianti, una ricchissima flora e fauna e strade che - a loro volta - offrono una grande ricchezza a livello di tipologia: dagli infiniti rettilinei delle zone più aride si passa a stupendi tratti di curve e controcurve che sembrano non finire mai. L’asfalto è quasi sempre perfetto e permette angoli di piega sorprendenti, anche quando, come nel nostro caso, la moto è equipaggiata con pneumatici votati ad un uso misto strada/fuoristrada. E quando si mettono le ruote sullo sterrato, si incontrano situazioni per tutti i gusti. Dalla terra rossa e compatta delle colline si passa alle pietre delle tagliafuoco di montagna, anche se in assoluto la sfida più difficile da a!rontare è la sabbia della savana. Si presenta all’improvviso e ti coglie quasi sempre di sorpresa: il fondo della sterrata polverosa che stai percorrendo inizia a diventare cedevole, fino a quando la ruota anteriore perde direzionalità e l’avantreno inizia a “prendere sotto”.

uring the second 2015 motorbike raid signed ‘GIVI’ the participants explored the north-east area of Johannesburg, towards the Kruger National Park. Savannah scorched by the sun? Hunting reserves for rich western tourists? All just clichés, given the great variety of landscapes encountered and the feeling of adventure that never left the riders. 28 participants, 22 motorbikes, all rigorously Yamaha and many GIVI accessories. Along with the tested GIVI products there is HEVIK technical apparel. The new brand having developed a specific technical jacket and a dedicated line of apparel. HEVIK made available of the participants items of clothing suitable for the climate and type of trip: technical underwear and T-shirts, waterproof coveralls, waterproof gloves, clothing & sweatshirts, polo and commemorative cap. During our trip we encountered green hills and crossed ancient woodlands, we even ‘climbed’ impressive mountains: on more than one occasion it felt like we were in the heart of Germany, not in the Dark Continent! This is the Africa you don’t expect to find. Focal point were the Waterberg Mountains, a vast area where you can find the ‘Waterberg Biosphere’, a fantastic protected natural reserve in the northern part of South Africa, with breath-taking views, very rich flora and fauna and roads of all kinds: from the infinite straight roads in the drier areas you pass to fantastic stretches of curves and hairpin bends that seem never-ending. The asphalt is almost always perfect and allows surprising lean angles even when, as in our case, the bike is equipped with tyres for mixed road/off-road use. And when we go off-road, there is something for all tastes. From the red and compact soil of the hills you get to the mountain’s firebreak tracks, even if the most difficult challenge to face is the sand in the savannah. It appears suddenly and almost always catches you unprepared: the dirt track you’re on starts giving away, until the front wheel loses driveability and the front fork starts sinking.

endant le second raid moto 2015 signé “GIVI”, les participants FR ont exploré la région nord-est de Johannesburg, à travers le Parc National Kruger. La savane au coucher de soleil? Des réserves de chasse pour de riches touristes occidentaux? Juste des clichés, parmi une grande variété de paysages rencontrés et le goût pour l’aventure qui ne quitte jamais les motards. 28 participants, 22 motos, toutes des Yamaha et autant d’accessoires GIVI. Afin de renforcer les produits testés sur le terrain, GIVI a crée une nouvelle marque de vêtements techniques : HEVIK. La marque développé une veste technique spécifique et une ligne dédiée de vêtements. HEVIK a mis à disposition de tous les participants des produits appropriés pour le climat et le style du voyage : des t-shirts techniques, des combinaisons étanches, des gants étanches, des vêtements et des sweatshirts, des polo et une casquette commémorative. Durant notre voyage, nous avons rencontré des champs verts et traversé des forêts anciennes, nous avons même escaladé des montagnes impressionnantes : à plus d’un moment nous avons cru être au cœur de l’Allemagne, et non sur le Continent Noir ! C’est ça l’Afrique à laquelle vous ne vous attendez pas ! Le point culminant du voyage : les montagnes Waterberg, une vaste zone où vous pouvez trouver la “Biosphère Waterberg”, une fantastique réserve naturelle dans la partie nord de l’Afrique du Sud. Des vues à couper le souffle, une faune et flore riche et des routes de toutes sortes : des lignes droites sans fin dans les zones les plus arides aux courbes fantastiques et épingles à cheveux qui ne semblent jamais finir. L’asphalte est presque parfait et permet des angles d’inclinaison surprenants, même quand, comme dans notre situation la moto est équipée avec des pneus mixtes road/off road. Et quand on parle de off-road, il y en a pour tous les goûts. De la terre rouge et compacte des collines aux pistes des montagnes, même si le challenge le plus difficile reste le sable de la savane. Il apparait si soudainement et vous prend toujours par surprise: le chemin de terre sur lequel vous conduisez commence à devenir souple, jusqu’à ce que la roue avant perde sa stabilité et que la fourche avant commence à s’enfoncer.

a passione per i motori non è una cosa che scegli, ti capita, ci nasci. Non sai neanche tu bene il perché, ma fin da bambino ti emozioni guardando una bella moto, o un’auto potente. Anche per me è stato così. Non mi ricordo un giorno esatto in cui ho iniziato ad interessarmi all’argomento; so solo che dal giocare con le macchinine nel corridoio di casa, al passare ore nel box a smanettare sul mio primo cinquantino, all’entrare nella redazione di una rivista del settore il passo pare essere stato breve; non facile, ma diretto. Così ascoltando la vocina dentro di me che mi portava sempre a contatto con il mondo dei motori, in un modo o nell’altro mi ci sono trovata completamente immersa. Qualche tempo fa, presa dalla voglia di realizzare qualcosa di mio, e forse anche un po’ di sana follia, ho deciso di dare un nome a questo mio mondo fatto di forcelle e pistoni, così è nato Half. Half, in una traduzione maccheronica dall’inglese vuol dire mezzo, e “che mezzo!” è l’espressione più frequente di ogni appassionato appena sceso da una moto o un auto che l’ha emozionato; l’ho scelto per questo, è una parola, un’espressione simbolo delle belle sensazioni che gli appassionati di questo mondo provano. Provo a raccontare le mie esperienze su due ruote in modo fresco e genuino, proprio come accade tra appassionati nelle famose chiacchiere da bar, interpretando la moto provata in tutte le sue sfumature, caratteriali più che tecniche. Per farlo non uso la sola parola, immaginando anche dettagli che riescano a trasmettere il feeling che ho provato mentre ero in sella. La location, lo stile fotografico, e l’abbigliamento possono raccontare molto. D’altra parte la moto, il motociclista e il suo abbigliamento sono elementi complementari. Basti pensare a Fonzie, alla sua giacca di pelle e alla sua Triumph, che non potrebbero vivere separati; o ancora a Steve Mc Queen e al suo impeccabile stile che era sempre en pendant con la motocicletta usata. La moto non è una passione che si vive con il timer. Chi ama la moto, ama usarla spesso in diverse situazioni ed è bene che sia sempre protetto, scegliendo dei capi da indossare volentieri anche una volta scesi dalla sella. Per questo capi realizzati con materiali tecnici all’avanguardia, disegnati seguendo le linee guida di stile contemporanee, sono la giusta risposta a un mercato che è sempre più esigente e attento allo stile. Ho scelto i capi Hevik per realizzare la prova della Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro perché rispecchiano perfettamente lo spirito della moto, giovane e pensata per il puro divertimento; e grazie alle protezioni mi sono sentita più sicura in sella alla moto.

A
passion for engines is not something you can choose, it is something that just happens to you: it is something you are born with. You can’t really explain why, but since you were a child you have experienced that spine-tingling feeling watching a cool motorcycle or a powerful car. The same thing also happened to me. I don’t remember exactly when I started to get into it, I just know that there wasn’t a huge gap between playing with toy cars at home in my hallway to customizing my first 50cc moped or attending a meeting for a specialist magazine drafting. I am not saying it was easy, just that it was immediate. So while listening to that tiny voice inside my head which has always brought me into the motoring world, in the end I just fell completely into it. Some time ago, wanting to create something that was exclusively mine, and perhaps being a little foolish, I decided to name my personal world of Forks and Pistons, so I created HALF. Half translated into a kind of “broken” English from the original Italian, means “vehicle”, or even better than that ….“what a vehicle!” That’s the typical expression used by everyone who has fallen in love with a vehicle they have test ridden then ultimately ended up with it! That’s why I chose it: it is an expression which summarizes the intensely joyful feeling experienced by those who are into that very specific world. I try to recount my experiences from the world of two wheels in a fresh and genuine way, just like other “engine lovers” when they talk to each other in a pub or a bar, interpreting and recounting their experiences on a certain motorbike and expressing how they felt. To do that, you can’t just use words to describe it: the outfit, the location and even images can all be descriptive. Indeed a rider, his bike and his outfit are all complementary elements. For example, think about Fonzie from the popular TV show “Happy Days”; think about him wearing his leather jacket, riding his Triumph, and his overall look….. collectively, each element creates a perfect combination but individually, they mean little. Think about Steve Mc Queen and his style which has always been de rigueur with his used motorcycle. The motorbike is not a passion you can love and feel while you’re counting time. Those who love their bikes use them in any situation with the right protection and outfit, both are chosen to feel and look cool whilst riding and also after dismounting at the end of the journey. That is why clothes created using the latest technical materials and designed following a contemporary style are the correct solution for a market that is continually expanding, is becoming more demanding and is attuned to the current trends. I chose Hevik clothing to realize the Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro test because Hevik clothing perfectly represents the bike’s soul: young and designed for pure fun and thanks to the protective clothing, I felt really safe riding the Scrambler.

a passion pour les véhicules motorisés n’est pas quelque chose que vous pouvez choisir, c’est quelque chose qui FR vous arrive : vous êtes nés avec. Vous ne pouvez pas vraiment expliquer pourquoi, mais depuis votre plus jeune âge, vous avez senti votre sang se glacer en regardant une moto ou une voiture puissante. C’est la même chose qui m’est arrivée. Je ne me souviens pas exactement quand j’ai commencé à être passionnée, je me souviens juste qu’il y avait un fossé énorme entre jouer aux petites voitures dans mon garage à customiser ma première mobylette 50cm3 ou à assister à une réunion du comité de rédaction d’un magazine. Je ne dis pas que c’était facile, juste que c’était immédiat. Ainsi, alors que j’écoutais juste cette petite voix dans ma tête qui m’avait toujours baladé dans le monde de l’automobile, j’ai fini par tomber totalement dedans. Quelques temps après, souhaitant créer quelque chose qui soit uniquement à moi, et peut-être en étant un peu égoïste, j’ai décidé de nommer mon propre monde « Forks and Pistons », alors j’ai crée HALF. Half, traduit de l’italien dans un anglais toutefois moyen signifie « véhicule » ou mieux que ça « Quel véhicule ! ». C’est l’expression typique utilisée par tous ceux qui sont tombés amoureux d’un véhicule qu’ils viennent d’essayer et qu’ils finissent par acheter ! C’est pourquoi je l’ai choisi. Cette expression résume très bien la joie intense ressentie par ceux qui appartiennent à ce monde très singulier. J’essaye de raconter mes expériences du monde des deux roues d’une manière fraiche et authentique, comme chaque autre amoureux des véhicules motorisés lorsqu’ils en parlent dans un pub ou dans un bar, en interprétant et en racontant leurs expériences sur une moto spécifique et en exprimant ce qu’ils ont pu ressentir. Vous ne pouvez pas utiliser juste les mots pour décrire cela : le vêtement, le lieu et même les images peuvent tous être décrites. Bien sur un motard, sa moto et sa tenue peuvent être des éléments complémentaires. Par exemple, pensez à Fonzie de la série tv populaire « Happy Days » ; pensez à lui portant sa veste de cuir, conduisant sa Triumph, son look tout entier....ensemble ; chaque élément sert à créer une combinaison parfaite, mais individuellement, ils signifient peu. Pensez à Steve Mc Queen et à son style qui a toujours été de rigueur avec sa moto usagée. La moto n’est pas une passion que vous pouvez aimer et ressentir si vous comptez votre temps. Ceux qui adorent leurs motos l’utilisent dans n’importe quelle situation avec les bonnes protections et tenues. Les deux sont choisis pour se sentir frais et dispo pendant, mais aussi après le trajet. C’est pourquoi les vêtements créés utilisent les derniers matériaux techniques et sont designés en suivant un style contemporain. Ils sont la solution idéale pour un marché qui continue de grandir, de plus en plus exigeant et à l’écoute des tendances actuelles. J’ai choisi les tenues Hevik pour réaliser le test du Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro parce que les tenues Hevik représentent parfaitement l’âme de la moto : jeune et conçue pour l’amusement pur et grâce aux protections, je me suis sentie vraiment en sécurité en conduisant le Scrambler.
