Out with the old and in with the new!

Formerly, the Hull Indoor Sports Centre, located on Harpings Road, just off National Avenue, Hull, the venue is fondly remembered for its 5-a-side football pitches and Little Monkeys children’s soft play area.

Now, rebranded as Active+, with new owners and management team, they’ve invested heavily in updating facilities and refurbishing the centre as a premier family multi-sports, leisure, and venue hire facility. A lot has changed, and this venue has something for everyone!

During the Covid19 pandemic, they embarked on the task of transforming the tired centre into a fresh and modern venue for all... and they succeeded!

Firstly, It’s the home of the very popular, Little Monkeys children’s indoor soft play area, and the renovations started here. The difference following the refurbishment is quite remarkable, including a new café and menu, new equipment, flooring & seating area.

The separate Sensory Room - Beetles Sensory Den, is very popular & perfect for early years and SEND children.

Whilst the Covid19 pandemic and multiple lockdowns wreaked havoc on the world, Active+ developed new procedures to keep customers safe, with revised capacity numbers, increased comprehensive and thorough cleaning schedules including fogging, and creating more space between tables. As restrictions

have eased, Active+ have decided to keep the new measures in place, receiving positive feedback from customers who say it makes them feel safer and more confident about going back.

There’s a bar, and lounge area, and the ‘The Business Hub’, adding a business café and business meeting services. With free Wi-Fi & free parking with easy access. It’s perfect for meetings or catching up on emails whilst having a coffee in the Business Café. The room is a bright open space with new flooring, wide screen TV’s and comfy seats. It’s been tastefully decorated with plants and wooden shelves. There’s also a provision for conferences, training, and corporate events, with a modern boardroom including a conference table and seating for 8.

Two large function rooms are perfect for celebrations including weddings, christenings, parties, and live music.

Sport has always been at the heart of the centre and boasts four outdoor sports pitches and one indoor hard-court pitch for football, hockey, and cricket, in addition to many other sports. Offering corporate football leagues, Men’s and Women’s football leagues, junior football training and coaching that follow the England FA DNA principles, casual pitch hire and much more.

The updated snooker hall includes seven refurbished tables, darts board, pool table and its own bar area.

Active+ are host to many more sports and leisure clubs, teams and groups, from dance classes to over 55’s meetings, coffee mornings and more.
