Norway’s Lofoten Islands are beautiful year-round – but there’s an added touch of magic to them in winter. The Arctic climate here is surprisingly milder than you might think, so there’ll be guided wildlife-spotting snowshoe walks, plus the chance to seek out the native Sea Eagle aboard a thrilling boat safari.
We’ll top it all with a ‘Taste of Lofoten’ food and walking tour and a lesson in how to best photograph the Northern Lights.

The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has no shortage of volcanic landscapes to explore. Most standout is Mount Teide – an active volcano and Spain’s highest peak. Visit Teide National Park to cross a huge caldera crowned by the snow-capped summit of Mount Teide and ramble along the black-sand trails of Arenas Negras, the site of the island’s most recent volcanic eruption.
We’ll trek through primeval laurel forests and explore the ravines and peaks of Anaga –a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Malta’s sister island is big on beautiful beaches, ancient archaeological sites, and coastal walks alongside the Mediterranean. Life here is gloriously slow-paced and this holiday is all about strolling the island’s coastal paths to secluded coves and rocky headlands, sampling local produce, and stopping to admire stunning churches. Gaze out to sea from the 17th-century Dwerjra Tower, enjoy a mid-walk swim at San Blas Bay, and take a boat trip through Gozo’s grotto-like coastal caves.
We’ll also spend time soaking up the atmosphere of the island capital, Victoria.
Wild Landscapes of Madeira
Madeira is famous for its levadas – a network of irrigation channels used as walking trails. Discover thundering waterfalls, prehistoric forests, green mountains, and soaring sea cliffs on these classic routes.
Follow a coastal path formerly used to carry the island’s famous wine and rum from Porto da Cruz to Machico, and visit Cabo Girão - one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe - for sweeping coast and countryside views. There’ll also be a boat trip to the fishing village of Caniçal.
