Job Summary Working in collaboration with the CEO and Director, Fund Development, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator provides leadership in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver’s (HFHGV) marketing and communication strategies. The Coordinator works with external and internal constituents including, management, staff, volunteers and community partners to promote and tell the HFHGV’s story. They are responsible for maintaining a consistent brand image through various marketing mediums (media, marketing collateral, etc.) and social media platforms. They also play an integral role in managing and executing internal and external events associated with fundraising and brand awareness initiatives.

Develop a marketing and communications strategy and annual calendar noting campaign execution and media implementation. Design, compose and distribute all HFHGV publications including: Annual Report, the Blueprint, and monthly e-newsletters. Design and compose all HFHGV marketing collateral, community partner letters, proposal templates and presentations.

Compose and manage press releases, speaking notes, website blogs, emailer notices, and articles. Manage and develop relationships with media, printers, and other vendors/suppliers. Manage website and update regularly with relevant blogs, promotions, and events. Manage social media systems and postings (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Hootsuite). Maintain database/contact list of volunteers, board members, memberships, staff, media, and community partners within email marketing program (MailChimp). Manage photo and video library and associated photo release forms for special events, build site, family partners, and ReStores. Other marketing tasks as directed.

Designs and produce marketing collateral. Manage and develop invites and RSVP lists for all external and internal events. Assists in organizing and managing existing HFHGV fundraisers and special events from concept to completion developing collateral, media kits, and event communications to generate maximum exposure. Assist with promotion of community partner events and committee requirements. Other event tasks as directed.

Meet with volunteers, donors and community partners as needed in a communications capacity. Assist with updating and maintaining the HFHGV strategic plan. Comply with all policies, procedures and branding guidelines. Attend special events for networking and HFHGV promotion in the community. Some work may require evening and weekend participation. Other tasks as directed.
Qualifications Education and Experience

A business, marketing and/or communications degree is required or education in a related field or equivalent experience. Five to ten years of professional experience in marketing, communications, event management or a related field. Graphic Design skills are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong writing, design and organizational skills. Ability to analyze and think critically. Commitment to teamwork and attention to detail. Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word. Working knowledge of Abode Creative Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign. Advanced user experience in social media applications including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, etc. Page 2 of 3
