STAUF ELIMINATES HARMFUL ISOCYANATES FROM URETHANE ADHESIVE MEMPHIS, Tennessee, April 13, 2012. Responding to health and environmental concerns in Europe and the United States, Stauf Adhesives, USA, announces that it has reformulated its popular Urethane-based wood flooring adhesive and eliminated the allegedly harmful chemical known as isocyanate. “Our forward-looking chemical engineers in Stauf’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Germany have created a Urethane-based adhesive that does not require the traditional Methylene Diphenyl Dissocyanate (MDI) and its related compounds as ingredients in our Urethane Adhesive, PUM-950 Power-Mastic”, stated Wolfgang Stauf, President of Stauf, USA. “The ability to remove isocyanates, a cause of great health and environmental concern to installers, consumers, and regulators, is remarkable. Our chemists have accomplished that, even while keeping the shear strength higher than competitive brands on the market today.
