EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS
The emergency department is often the first point of contact with a medical facility, and experiences there can significantly affect how patients feel about the overall quality of care they receive at the hospital. One of the biggest components of patients’ emergency department experience is how long they have to wait before and during care.

PEDIATRICS
Pediatric patients are complex – the range of patients served in pediatric facilities is unlike any other institution. From infancy through early adulthood, each patient comes with a unique set of needs specific to their diagnosis. The design must be sensitive to the child’s emotional needs and their physiological disease or injury, providing comfort and reducing stress for not just the child but the whole family.
HGA’s design for pediatric facilities is adaptable, responding to the varied needs of patients, families, and hospital staff. Spaces facilitate interaction and healing through playrooms, whimsical art, range in furniture sizes and a connection to nature.
