Diablo 2 Diablo II is the sequel to the cult hack'n'slash isometric action game, which takes place some time after the events of the original game. The knight from Diablo has become the new Evil Incarnate, the Dark Wanderer, who has set out for the jungles of Kurasta in an attempt to free Mephisto, the embodiment of Hate, from his imprisonment. The archer became possessed by demons and settled in a cemetery near the Monastery, but the fate of the wizard is unknown. In Diablo 2 the player can choose between five different characters: Necromancer, Amazon, Barbarian, Sorceress and Paladin. Each character has his own strengths and weaknesses.
Gameplay has changed compared to Diablo - players now travel through different zone-acts, of which there are four in the game - the wooded plateau and the Monastery, the Great Desert and the city of Loot Goylen, the jungle of Kurast and the fortress on the threshold of Hell. Players still roam the locations, destroy monsters and complete quests, the goal of which is to overthrow the boss of the act and move on to the next.
