Half-Life Half-Life is a first-person action-adventure shooter set in the depths of a mountain in the American state of New Mexico. It is there, according to the story, that a federal research centre of gigantic proportions named "Black Mesa" is located, and a number of top-secret investigations are carried out. The game's main character, Gordon Freeman, is a talented young scientist working in an anomalous materials laboratory.
Having an average level of clearance scientist is unaware of the dangers of the upcoming work. One morning Gordon is sent to a test chamber to perform a standard crystal analysis. The consequences of the experiment, however, prove disastrous. An explosion of the crystal blows a gap between the dimensions, from which alien forces begin to invade Earth.
