HOME & GARDEN 2016 EXHIBIT CATEGORIES RULES 1. Open to all Carlisle County residents. 2. All entries must be entered at the Exhibit Building at the Park between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Exhibits are not to be removed until the times between 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. or 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 15. 3. The management will use the utmost care to guard and protect exhibits but are not responsible for exhibits. 4. No entry will be accepted unless it is listed in the Fair Book. 5. Exhibit only articles that have not been shown at the county fair in previous years. 6. Articles exhibited must have been made by the person in whose name the entry is made. 7. Only one entry per individual in each class (each numbered item is a class), but an individual may exhibit in all classes. 8. An entry must be entered in the most appropriate class before entering in other classes. 9. Youth must first check to see if their entry can be entered in the 4-H division before the entry can be entered in the adult division. 10. Decision of the judges will be final. 11. The Standard System of awarding will be used, one first place (blue), one second place (red), one third place (white) may be given in each class if merited. 12. All blue ribbons receive $3.00; all red ribbons $2.00; and all white ribbons $1.00 except for exhibits 131 and 132 (best decorated cake and novelty cake) which will receive $5.00 (blue ribbon); $4.00 (red ribbon) and $3.00 (white ribbon). 13. Any exhibit/s removed from the fairgrounds before the designated time will result in forfeited prize money. 14. Champion ribbons – A grand champion ribbon will be awarded in each of the five sections if the judge deems one worthy (Canning, Foods, Textiles, Arts and Crafts and Flowers). The winner of the champion ribbon will be awarded $25. The decision of the judges is final. 15. Item must have been completed within the last two years.

Jellies and preserves must be in standard jar or standard jelly jar. 3. All jars must be labeled on lower part of the jar with name of contents. 4. Entries will not be judged if not in a standard jar. 5. Unsealed jars, extremely dirty jars or those with rusty lids will automatically be disqualified. 6. Bands are to be removed from jars before entering.
