Pitlochry Festival Theatre, The Birks Cinema and Birnam Arts have worked together to create the brand new Tummel & Tay Festival between 23-25 May. In its inaugural year, the Festival will celebrate the amazing whisky, food and culture of Highland Perthshire. The three day Festival forms part of Homecoming Scotland 2014’s Whisky Month in May, and will offer a variety of things to see and do at the three venues, all around the central theme of whisky. As part of the Tummel & Tay Festival, Pitlochry Festival Theatre will launch its Summer Season with Whisky Kisses, a new Scottish musical comedy. This funny, romantic and exuberant new Scottish musical, performed by PFT’s large, highly talented cast of actor-musicians will be the highlight of the Summer Season. The Explorer bus commences on Sunday 1st June and conclude on Sunday 19th October, operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays in the months of June, September and October and also on Saturdays in July and August. Sweeney’s of Muthill, near Crieff will run the clockwise Crieff – Comrie – St Fillans – Lochearnhead – Killin – Kenmore – Aberfeldy – Crieff route. Kingshouse Travel of Balquhidder will operate an anti-clockwise Killin – Lochearnhead – St Fillans – Comrie – Crieff – Aberfeldy – Kenmore – Killin circuit. The hop-on hop-off circular service calls at all of the major tourist attractions in the area. In an extension of the service, the Explorer will operate four (4) complete circuits on operating days from 9am until after 9pm, allowing passengers, for example, to attend early evening performances at The Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy.
