Blair Castle’s popular Vintage Tractor and Trailer Tours with Sandy Reid, the estate’s legendary ghillie, will be your guide as you explore hidden parts of the castle’s grounds on a 90 minute tour. It’s a great way to see the animals that live within the grounds, including Red Deer, Highland Ponies and Highland Cows. These tours follow the estate tracks through open fields and farmland. The tours are scheduled to run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10am-11.30am. Prices: Adults £8, Child £3, Family £20. Private tours can be arranged for groups of up to 30 people. The ‘Sport A Smile’ activity day will take place in the Memorial Park, Blair Atholl from 1.00 to 5.00pm. A wide range of activities will be featured to test the skills of those attending; these include fly casting, archery, Segway rides, bowls, slow bike riding, golf, face painting, beat the Goalie, Bouncy Castle, tug-of-war and hay rides, with Silly McBee adding a popular element of chaos to the proceedings. This event took place for the first time in 2014 and attracted an excellent crowd and great deal of interest. Entry is FREE and refreshments will be available.

Started in 1958 by Major James de S. La Terriere and was intended originally for shepherds, keepers and other locals. Today a typical small local highland games, the genuine article, which is not specially laid on for tourists. It includes tossing the caber, highland dancing, hill race (anyone over 15 can enter the latter but you need to be fit!) Also races for children, sales of cakes and plants etc in aid of local charities, delicious barbeque, tea tent... and a Beer tent. Adults £4, Senior Citizens - £3.
