Ace FootwearTM Dylan Silber & Anthony Capece Ace FootwearTM is a patent pending shoe design that allows the user to attach and detach into different soles specifically designed for different activities, all with a simple click! The shoe’s design includes being waterproof, lightweight, and ultra-durable, making it ready for any occasion. Designed with professionals and travelers in mind, this innovative footwear creates a simpler and more compact way to take shoes along for various occasions such as business, golf, or running and more.
Face2FaceTM Michael Mayolo Face2FaceTM is a facial recognition platform that aids Alzheimer’s patients in remembering names and maintaining relationships. By utilizing existing facial recognition technology, Face2FaceTM places a small camera (like the ones in the current iPhones) into the frames of normal prescription or non-prescription glasses. When a face is recognized, Bluetooth software pairs that camera with a speaker on the temples of the glasses, reminding the Alzheimer’s patient who they are interacting with. That information will be pulled from a database stored within the app.
Leopard ElectricTM Ivana Korankyi The LeopardTM is an untethered, freestanding device with AC/USB outlets that provides power to everyone anywhere in the world. Specializing in advancing accessibility and electrical freedom in the home and health care environments, Leopard’sTM sleek and modern design and product will break barriers in the portable power system industry. With LeopardTM, users will no longer have to seek out an outlet to use.

Ohana LockTM is a patentpending lock that secures paddles to kayaks and stand-up paddle boards while in use or while in transit. Once the lock is fully developed, the functionality of the locking device will have a number of extended uses for the transportation of other products.

High Point University Center for Entrepreneurship The Center for Entrepreneurship, offered by the Earl N. Phillips School of Business, fosters innovation and supports business ventures, advancing the entrepreneurship program to the next level of excellence. The Center fosters innovation, business creation and creative thinking. The curriculum is fluid as it remains apace with current business trends and needs. Students learn new venture concepts using real-world scenarios based on the Center’s interactions with the local business community and its noted professionals. STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS....IN THE RUNNING The following are other entrepreneurial companies introduced by our students this year. Agora.TV Jack Carter Agora.TV is the next step in the evolution of virtual media through independent content creation. The content will be created through YouTube videos posted by creators and allowing for feedback and donations as the viewer sees fit. Agora.TV will allow for discussions between creators and viewers for feedback on posted videos. The next step in media is Agora.TV. ____________________________ All Tied Up Steven Arnita All Tied Up is a necktie company that makes separate pre-tied knots to slide on any tie and eliminates the need for people to tie neckties. Customers will have the ability to purchase more pre-tied knots as the need arises. All Tied Up hopes to be a part of the resurgence of ties as popular business or formal attire. ____________________________ Beyond Horizons Annie Zupon Beyond Horizons is a social enterprise that consists of a team of experienced missionaries and former Peace Corp volunteers who now assist schools, churches, or other organizations on how to expand their reach when running mission trips. Beyond Horizons makes the trip for those coming
to serve purely about serving. The guide will take over the planning and other logistical issues. ____________________________ Bullseye Bomber Tanner Bass The Bullseye Bomber has brought another new look to games with friends. This is an adult game that has created a new tailgating experience. The founders believe that a novel game such as this will help event venues and bars to differentiate themselves from all the others. ____________________________ Clear Mind Zach Spendley & Chris Benson Clear Mind is an implantable device that monitors glucose levels for diabetic patients and transmits information through a mobile application ensuring ready access to information throughout the day. The device is surgically implanted, allowing blood to flow through a tracking device and alerting the patient if levels are off and it is time for the next insulin shot. The goal is to sell this patent-pending technology to a major medical device company. ____________________________ Corbin Elliott Wellness Corbin Elliott According to the American Heart Association, 1 in every
4 American deaths are the result of heart disease, and the CDC claims that over 100 million Americans are diabetic or pre-diabetic. The Corbin Elliott Wellness company offers nutrition, life style, and exercise guidance in order to promote a better quality of life for customers. There will be a variety of nutrition, lifestyle and exercise programs sold directly to consumers. This will lead to a healthier and happier life for many Americans. ____________________________ Desimul Chris Olsson Desimul is designed to bridge the gap between students and professors to create a more personal connection. Desimul will create forums to allow for more comfortable interface between students and professors, taking the fear out of asking questions in class and other stress situations in school settings. ____________________________ Easy Brush Viktoria Heiser Easy Brush is a push-button toothbrush that automatically dispenses recommended amounts of toothpaste onto the bristles of the “Easy Brush.� The patent-pending Easy Brush has a refillable toothpaste compartment where you insert the toothpaste tubes. The Easy Brush is being designed for use

The Easy Brush will make money through toothbrush sales, refills, and potential partnership deals with major toothpaste companies. ____________________________ GYMART Carlos Caetano The concept of GYMART is to offer to health-conscious people a gym and grocery store together in one facility. This will reduce the need for people to wonder if the food they are buying is good or bad for their bodies, furthering their efforts to be healthy. It will offer focus sections on building muscle, losing weight, or simply staying healthy. It will be your one-stop shop for better health. ____________________________ LUCA Clothing Co. Michael Beale LUCA is a practical solution for those who want to do more to help reduce their carbon footprint but are not sure how. LUCA is a clothing company with a social mission: to reverse the negative effects of climate change and encourage a world of guardians for the planet. Through a partnership with One Tree Planted, a percentage of the proceeds will pay to plant trees. LUCA is focused on selling an identity and not just clothing. The ultimate goal is to be bought by an established retailer or licensor willing to invest in the mission of LUCA.
OTCH Brittany McCoy OTCH is a patient friendly app offering over-the-counter help typically offered by a pharmacist. It is a quick source that can help patients find answers to general health topics and provide information on specialized services from a pharmacist’s perspective. There is a feature that will make the app patient-specific as well. Since everyone is involved in the healthcare system this app would apply to all age groups. ____________________________ Piggy App Miguel Gonzalez Piggy App is a new way to receive change electronically and have change automatically transferred into your bank account. Our goal is to do away with coins and the cost of minting them. This app would work similarly to or with other money apps that help people accumulate money in small amounts until they become something of value. The goal of Piggy App would be to eventually be partners with Apple and/or Samsung. ____________________________ Pumori Graham Atlee Pumori plans to be a major step into the future through the use of Augmented Reality (AR) through the use of Tangible User Interface (TUI).
While this is only a small part of AR, it will be more realistic to launch a business around this technology by focusing on a specific use. Pumori is primarily a technology development company that will begin with a tight focus and expand down the road. ____________________________ ReWritten by Logan Logan Jones ReWritten by Logan provides a positive, unifying platform for female empowerment. ReWritten by Logan is an apparel brand launched in fall 2018 with the mission of empowering women in a positive and apolitical manner. The company sells trendy t-shirts with inspiring messages that instill young women ages 14-24 with confidence, aspirations, and a focus on excellence and achievement. It is not just selling t-shirts, it is creating a mindset and developing a community of like-minded, strong, driven, and confident young women. ____________________________ RHODE Jordyn Lemons, Collin Devine, Justin Harmon, Olivia Fenton RHODE is revolutionizing the way students safely get around college campuses. RHODE is simply using golf carts in an “Uber” type system. Students will no longer be late for class, be getting sick from bad weather, and will be able to

They will also provide the service to faculty and staff so they can reap the same benefits their students do. Ideally, RHODE is a model that can be replicated and launched on any college campus.
Surpass the Goal Sonvia Brown Surpass the Goal is an app that can be used to measure and track barriers to treatment, side effects, emotions, and setbacks that can influence and improve low retention rates in clinical trials, rehab centers, and addiction treatment programs. According to the CDC, at least 130 Americans
are dying every day from opioid overdoses. While there are many trying to offer options for treatment, the issue seems to be in the follow-up. This app will assist providers and patients to keep better track of barriers for treatment and offer an outlet to address concerns. The goal of this is to increase the retention rates of patients successfully completing treatment.
