Inspired by Country Life At Hiho we’re passionate about the countryside, equestrianism, enjoying the great outdoors, cake and lots more besides. Based in the Blackdown Hills in Somerset, we’ve been part of the country and equestrian scene for over 20 years and continue to attend many events up and down the country (and further afield!) every year. We design many of our own pieces and work with amazing artisan silversmiths and goldsmiths to create stunning jewellery that looks amazing but is also durable and robust so you can wear and enjoy it – we say it’ll take you from mucking out to going out – and we mean it!

One of our exclusive ranges is the Cherry Roller, which we launched a few years ago and is now one of our best sellers. All of the pieces in the Cherry Roller Collection are designed by us and combine sterling silver with rose gold, yellow gold, gold vermeil, and CZ crystals too... and there’s lots more to come. This Is just one example of what we do and what we create. Exclusive country and equestrian jewellery. Our name might be ‘silver’ but we also make pieces incorporating gold... we’re a team of many talents!

If you’re at a show, pop along and say hello to our very own King of the Road, Andrew. You’ll usually find him at a show or on a horse. Or if you call the office, you can chat to our Countess of Contentment, Michelle, who’s on hand to help you with any questions or queries you might have.

Snaffles We love snaffles at Hiho, and that’s evident by our ever-growing range of snaffle jewellery. Although our latest design, the Cherry Roller®, has been stealing a fair bit of the snaffle limelight recently, this section is about our original snaffle jewellery, based on the trusty eggbutt snaffle.

Eggbutt snaffles and horses go together like silver and jewellery. You see them on ponies being ridden by small children through to adults in all equestrian sports. They’re an all-purpose, fairly mild, bit.

As for the snaffle’s design – let us talk you through a few of the details that you’ll also see on our snaffle pieces - we’re horsey people and the detail matters to us.

They have a single link – in real life these move and hinge, but ours are fixed on the jewellery, usually in a gentle curve, which is the way it should be in the horse’s mouth.

The colour – well, we do love silver and, that just so happens to be the same colour as stainless steel, but we do also do gold plated pieces, with 18ct rose gold plated matching the copper used on many bits, and 18ct yellow gold matching brass alloys used in some bits too.

When we first brought this design to the UK for the Badminton Horse trials, it was a great seller from the word go. Each Eggbut style snaffle is perfectly hand cast and shaped to look authentic, and with the stunning mix of solid sterling silver and our exclusive two tone look, this really is a horse lover’s bracelet for life. Our two tone items have always been really popular with gold lovers, and was developed following a request from a customer who just loved our silver snaffle bracelets, but wanted a gold and silver version and as you know, we always aim to please our customers. We set out to achieve a two tone look without the risk of the plate rubbing off, so our two tone is brass plate rather than gold plate as it is much harder wearing and will last forever.

We looked at a number of options before settling on the Cherry Roller and designed our first Cherry Roller Bangle - we felt that it retained the look and feel of our popular snaffle bracelet, whilst adding the additional element of the beads, giving a different look and feel to the bracelet. It wasn’t an easy piece to design! But we were really pleased with how it turned out.

The Cherry Roller jewellery range is the first ever to incorporate this bit as a design, so these are really unique pieces for our customers.
