Students Pump Up Their National Pride Students from different countries cheer on their home nations. by Eli Christofferson

“And here comes the final lap! Korea looks like they might clinch first second and third place! Apolo Ohno of the U.S. will take fourth. No, Wait! The second and third place Koreans bumped into each other on the final turn and took each other out! Now America will take second and third!” shouts of Korean frustration and cheers from the Americans in the boys dorm could be heard throughout the halls of the boys dorm, as one of the many Olympic events came to a close. These past few weeks the boys dorm and girls dorm students have been following very closely the currently happening Olympics that

are taking place in Vancouver, Canada this year. “What is interesting about Hillcrest is it is made up of so many different people from so many different countries, so there’s a lot of cheering that happens when the home nation of some of the students competes,” said junior Heather Frustol. There are many different nations represented here at Hillcrest, and some of the students believe that their nation will win the most medals.
