We’re All in This Together The Varsity girls reflect on a few things from playing together. By Annie Boyum
A few of the varsity girls have been playing together as a team since 7th grade. Taylor Brue, Chantel Meech, Ahna Lacey, Andrea Christenson, and Brittany Christenson have been playing together since they were youngsters at Saturday morning basketball. As the girls thought back on their years together, they began telling about fun and memorable times together. Their eighth grade tournament was fun for them, as well as going to the KKK Café in Henning for some bonding time. The girls have spent summers playing together and training, where they got “buff ” but then lost it before the end of
the summer, according to Ahna. For their sophomore year, Rhoda Christenson and Christina Hardie came into the picture. In their junior year, they remember the play-off game they won against BBE. Andrea said, “It was really cool, because afterward we were able to share the gospel with them.” Taylor adds, “They were really open to it!” After they won that game, they were defeated by Parkers Prairie which was a big discouragement. The girls agreed that through spending so much time together--playing, practicing and working as a team--they have become like sisters to one another.
