FRASER TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCHES SF33 FOR FLUORINATED GREASE AND OXYGEN CLEANING
Fraser Technologies launches SF33 for fl uorinated grease and oxygen cleaning
Fraser Technologies has launched Opteon™ SF33 from Chemours™ following successful trials with customers.
Ideal for the removal of fluorinated greases and oils, for oxygen cleaning, and as a heat transfer carrier fluid, SF33 is suitable for applications across the aerospace, defence, transportation, medical device, and electronics manufacturing industries. As a multi-purpose specialty fluid, it is compatible with most materials, including many metals and plastics.
Lower environmental impact with SF33
As many companies work to meet their own ESG targets, as well as regional and global net zero requirements, limiting environmental impact is a key priority. The Opteon™ range of specialty fluids is well known for having low global warming potential (GWP*), and SF33 is one of the lowest in the range with a GWP of 2. For context, a similar, commonly used fluorinated solvent has a GWP of 1300. Importantly, it also has zero ozone depletion potential. SF33 can replace a variety of industrial solvents with a higher GWP, such as HFCs, HCFCs, HFEs and PFPEs, while still providing the excellent cleaning results customers expect.
The benefi ts of SF33
The superior cleaning performance of SF33 makes it a strong upgrade on previous Opteon™ applications. It is non-flammable and has no flammability in air limits, and is a clear and colorless solution with a low boiling point that is exceptionally safe in use. It is recyclable and reusable, reducing cost of ownership and environmental footprint, and it is lower in capital equipment costs than comparable water-based systems, which also reduces cost of ownership and requires a smaller equipment footprint. The application is fast, efficient and low-maintenance, creating shorter lead times and reducing overall operating costs.
In recent trials with a multinational bearing manufacturer, SF33 demonstrated a significant improvement in the removal of fluorinated grease and oil prior to inspection, in comparison to their existing process. This improvement saves the manufacturer both time and money as no rework is required following the initial clean.
Why work with Fraser Technologies?
