The city chosen for the construction site was Medellín, in recognition of the importance in the celebration of poetry. The University of Antioquia was chosen to house, as the cultural heart of the city. The monument, made of bronze by sculptor Nikolai Kuznetsov-Muromsky.
Alexander Pushkin, Russian poet whose works are considered cultural heritage of Russia, will have a presence at the University of Antioquia. It is a monument in his honor, which was donated by the Union of Writers of Russia.
