PROJECT
The brief of the competition was to design a conceptual digital app for capturing Local Urban Trails, which would later be converted into a digital prototype by Coplug, a London based company. Architects see the world with creative lens. We capture our experiences through a range of mediums and build our ideas through inspirations that we came across in our environment. Design of a urban travel app which better interacts with the culture, people and built environent of that place.

THINGS This feature helps users to know the essence of a place, through our sense concept. People travelling can draw the things they like of a place through sketches by pen tools in the app and text which will automatically be saved in that area information. Other people can see what other people feel about the place. + opens up the sketch in full screen.

SENSE CONCEPT This feature works as a whole with all other features. It helps the app to interact with built enviroment, people and culture in a better way. This illustration defines sound of the places. More red means more rush and traffic and bluer shades represent clamness and a pleasant enviroment for people to choose places where to go.

Somtimes, apps dont show the desired path through which an individual wants to travel, which results in a boring straight-forward ride. This feature, sketch+ allows the user to manipulate their own path through pen tool and app automatically captures the nearest path from the sketched path, hence results in freedom and a fun ride.

EXPLORE+ We, as busy individuals only travel selected paths which are commute to offices and house, not having the ability to explore their own city. This feature, explore+ tells you some interesting places which are famous around them or are calm and pleasant. Bikers, as commuters have this difficulty of riding and holding phone for gps at the same time. To finish off that problem, we created this feature. This tells bikers to go in which direction with the help of no. of vibrations. Different number of vibrations mean different directions so that they can sense phones in their pockets, increasing safety among bikers.

Several little features which make the user interface lively and more simpler. The pointers now has a function, they display the travel distance in them and light to dark color of pointers symbolise how expensive a restaurant is. More darker means more expensive. Tags help in finding something with similar interests faster.

Our Concept is based on empathy, senses and simplicity. Our main aim is to add features which interact with the environment so that users can explore the built environment, people and culture of a particular place with the best sense of belonging. Relating our app to the human experiencies and behavious, we added sense features like sight and sound which responds to the built environment and help people to feel what a place will be like through our app. It indulges with the environment and lives with it. Interface Design is interactive and clear for hassle free use.
