DESIGN BRIEF The program is to design an Performing Arts Center for physically disabled children in the heart of the city of Ahmedabad that building typology and see how it bends with the context.
ANALYSIS The site is 75M long and 50M wide on e has a contoured slope of 3M from the front wall to the front. The site is open on all three sides :md is covered by brick fort all on the forth side (rear side). Just behind the old brick fort wall lives economically backwar d community who con easily access the because of the presence of a arched opening in the fort wall which is included in the boundaries of the site.

As the site is between the old and modern city of Ahmedabad and also the new developing area near the river fronts at the ban of Sabarmati river; I thought Ahmedabad has no institute of Performing Arts for physically disabled people. Hence this institute can also develop a strong bond between normal and disabled people.

DESIGN CONCEPT
MASSING AND SPACING
As wheelchair users need smooth and easy circulation and that is main point to be focused on ;hence I started working on the symbol of focus i.e; circular tubes, as it is in circular form through which Icon create a smooth and strong circulation path. Later, I realized that circular form becomes more compact according to the area of site give; for the functions to work with.Thereafter I chose the arched port of the circle which gave openness to the spaces. Metamorphism process was used in the final form by sliding the tubes. hence negative spaces were created on the eastern side of the site and then eastern side was flattened n sliding(stagering) was done only at one end of the arch.
The concept was to design a Performing Arts Center For Physically Disables.. Through which they can develop their personality as well as can bring out their talents and prove themselves. Faculties teaching here would also get an opportunity to teach performing arts to the people with disability and can help them to stand up high in the world. Normal People also can jointhis institute which will create a amazing bond between both the types of people .
Four arched tubes creates the main massing of the building. main high lighting design element of the building is a massive stone wall which gives the building a introvert space. only fourth tubes are added to the first fioor, which seems to be excluded outwards from through the stone wall which catches the whole attention on the front elevation. stone wall also represents the old brick fort wall with contrast material.
