Rtn. Ashok Verghese, Director, Hindustan Group of Institution and Charter Member of the Club was elected as the President of Rotary Club of Chennai Capital on 2nd July 2016 at Hotel Westin. The Chief Guest was PHF. Rtn. I.S.A.K. Nazar, Past District Governor. The other members present were Rtn. V. Ramani, District Director-Membership Development and Rtn. Mukund Vedapudi, Assistant Governor and his wife Rtn. Sheela Mukund. The jewel was handed over ceremoniously from Rtn. Shriram Duvvuri, President (2015-16).

World Literacy Day
Blood Donation Camp
The World Literacy Day was celebrated. Dr. Expedith, Senior Educational Consultant, SSA and Dr. Sridhar Asst. HM Govt. Hr. Sec. School Sembakkam, were the resource persons.
559 units of Blood were collected during the Blood Donation Camp Rtn. Natarajan Nagoji, District Governor, RI District 3230; and Rtn. Mukund Vedapudi, Assistant Governor, RI District 3230 were the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour for the camp.

National Builder Award
The Club conducted evaluation in 15 Government schools and awarded National Builder Awards to 15 teachers from these schools in Padur, Kelambakkam, Thandalam, Sembakkam, etc.

INAUGURATION OF SMART CLASSROOM
MOVIE FELLOWSHIP
The Dist Secretary, Rtn. R. Tamil Selvan inaugurated the E-learning Class room at St. Joseph School, Nungambakkam on 16th Sept 2016. Rtn. Ashok Verghese, President; Rtn. Tejas Mehta, Project Director; and Rtn. Shriram Duuvvri, IPP presided over the function.
The Rotary Club of Chennai Capital came up with its first Fellowship of the year; and blockbuster movie ‘Kabali’ was screened at the Sangam Theatre, Kilpauk on 24th July 2016.
MEGA GREEN DRIVE
COMPUTER DISTRIBUTION: DIGITAL LITERACY PROGRAMME A Mega Go Green Drive was conducted at Hindustan University in collaboration with Rotary Club of Chennai Capital on 21st Sept. 2016, where 1000 saplings were planted to promote the essence of clean environment. .

Ford Motor Private Limited and Rotary Club of Madras South organized “Ford –Rotary Digital Literacy programme” on 6th Sept. 2016 at Hotel Savera, Chennai. The event was graced by Rtn. Natarajan Nagoji, District Governor was the Chief Guest and Mr. J. Sreenivasan, CFO-Global Business Services, Mr. Aditya Mavillapalli, Director- Marketing Sales and Services, Global Business Services, Ford Motor; Mrs. Shama Prasanna, Chairman IW were the distinguished Guests of Honour. To create a digitally literate world, “Computers in Schools” project was introduced by RC3 and 50 computers have been allocated to the adopted schools of our Club.
A Mega District Family Event was organized at MGM Resorts, Chennai on 3rd Sept. 2016.
DISTRICT YOUTH CONFERENCE

The District Youth Conference was attended by our Hindustan Rotaract Club members which was held on 4th September 2016 at Chettinad Health City.
A family get together was hosted by our members at the Vault Bar Stock Exchange, Resto Bar on 21st August 2016. The party was hosted by Rtn. Kishore Reddy, Rtn. Akshay Dugar and Rtn. Vishal Jindal.

Rtn. Sripal Kothari is a B.Com graduate and deals with Textiles, Logistics and Finance. His wife is Ms. Vinitha Kothari and have two children Rishab and Dev .
An Inter-School Athletic Meet was organized by Rotary International District and Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu on 3rd Aug. 2016. The motto of the Olympiad was “Harvesting Talents”.
Rtn. Senthil Annamalai is into the business of assembly and supply of led lights, solar power projects for the government and industry. He is married to Kaveri, HR Trainer in Yoha Logistix and has a son and a daughter in 11th and 8th grade. Rtn. Vivek Chordia finds himself best in giving end to end solution for electrical projects. His wife has a food store “Chennai Green” in Adyar. Chordia’s have two sons, one pursuing Electrical Engineering, and the other is in 9th grade.

The Nairobi Tour was organized by District 3230 , 50 Rotarians and Anns participated. 42 members from District 3230 and 8 from Bangalore were part of the tour. The first stop was Nairobi Club and was followed by a trip to Lake Naivasha, Great Reef View point and finally the Masai Mara, where the migration of several wildebeests were enjoyed by the Rotarians.
