Mrs Norma McLeod OAM Congratulations to Mrs Norma McLeod OAM of Maleny who has been recognised for service to the Maleny community through her work with, and commitment to, Centre for Retirement Living (Blue Care), Maleny Show Society, Maleny Garden Club, Maleny Floral Art Group and the Maleny Soldiers Memorial Hospital, to name just a few. Five Sunshine Coast residents have been recognised in the Australia Day 2021 Honours list for their contributions to marine science, environmental conservation, para-medicine and to community. Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson congratulated all of the recipients, saying their awards, announced by the Governor General, re ected decades of service. “Each of these recipients has worked tirelessly to add to the fabric of our community and protect our environment through research and conservation and their commitment to going above and beyond, which has been recognised by their peers,” Mayor Jamieson said. “They’ve gone about their professional and community work, not because they seek accolades, but because they want to make a difference.”

Equestrian Day Yards at Maleny Showgrounds Maleny Pony Club are pleased to say that permanent day yards construction has now been completed at the horse area on the Maleny Showgrounds. These provide a safe, secure and sturdy area for horses to be contained in whilst waiting to be ridden or to be transported home again. The day yards are being well used and provide a wonderful addition to the amenities already available in the equestrian area at the Maleny Showgrounds.

Maleny and District Horse and Pony Club would like to express our thanks to both Andrew Powell MP and the Sunshine Coast Council for our successful grant funding through Queensland’s Community Gambling Bene t Fund and the Sunshine Coast Council’s Major Grants Program. The Range Croquet Club - Maleny On Thursday we had a visit from Ted and Lorraine Singleton of Caloundra Club. Ted is also a member of Maleny, a founding member, and the club patron.
