OWN A Champion 1
This is your opportunity to propel your breeding program and ranch to the top of the breed. Once one of the most successful cattle breeders was heard saying, “If I didn’t raise the Champion, I would buy it.” This breeder never had any problem staying at the top of the breed or selling his animals for much more than the other breeders. You cannot only use the genetics to put your program at the top, but as a new owner of a champion you can use it to help you market your ranch and breeding program.

For the first time MBJ is offering pick of their entire 2023 Spring and Fall calf crop, including nearly 70 ET calves as well their extensive AI and natural service calves. The astute buyer of this tremendous opportunity will select from both our Red and Black programs, bulls and heifer calves. $52,000 SELECTION OF GENESIS RANCH IN MARCH 2022 AT SUHN CATTLE CO.
One of the great buying opportunities of the 2023 calendar year, and a chance to tap into arguably the most influential genetic base over the last 20 years comes in the form of a pick of the entire spring, 2022 born heifer crop from Chimney Rock Cattle Company. Notable in its success well enough on its own, Chimney Rock has contributed countless herd sires and donor dams to the breed since Bill and Gail Davis’ entrance into the breed, however this pick also includes an opportunity to select from the two high profile acquisitions the Davis’ made in 2022 in the Suhn and Vorel programs. All in, the winning bidder has the opportunity to essentially get the pick of 3 renowned genetic bases with one purchase!
The list of herd sires produced from the genetic base within could fill this entire catalog, and can be seen in pedigrees throughout this catalog but include the likes of Affirmed, Alydar, Next Step, Guardian, North Star, Landau, Online, Foundation, Trail Boss, Beacon, Business Line, Epic, Signal, Currency, Abstract and Blueprint among others, not to mention headliners that sold in 2022 in the $52,000 Spectrum, $56,000 Alliance, $62,000 Pathway and $72,000 Triple Crown among many others! The real key to success behind these leading herd sires is undoubtedly the cow power it took to produce them, and that is what is before you today. Cow families like the 2’s, 25’s, 30’s, 40’s, 53’s, 331’s, 415’s, 416’s, 468’s, 535’s, 894’s, 918’s and 919’s are staples in the breed and much of their heritage and success lies from within this genetic population.
The pick of the calf crop being offered is the best of the best, with a diverse and proven pedigree base. Sires of the heifers being offered include but are not limited to Abstract, Big Lake, Big Town, Blueprint, Business Line, Countertop, Currency, Empower, Intrigue, Masterpiece, Oracle, Perfect Fit, Signal, Surge, Synergy, Trail Boss and Wrangler and include all ET, AI sired and Natural Service heifers that were born from 1/1/2022 through 5/1/2022. All heifers will have been ultrasounded, pelvic measured and repro tract scored at the time of selection. The buyer has the option to select 1 heifer from over 100 head in the crop, making their selection by 5/1/2023, AND at the buyer’s option can leave the heifer at Chimney Rock to be AI’d to the bull of their choosing and cleaned up by the CRC bull battery with the intention of picking up the heifer once she is confirmed bred, prior to Labor Day. Note - the CRC crew will begin breeding on these heifers in early April so if the buyer would like to select the bull their heifer is bred to the selection would need to be made prior to synchronization.
This tremendous opportunity can propel any new or established program to the next level of breed leading greatness through a program built on and immersed in the perfect balance of phenotype and data. Don’t miss what lies within this unique opportunity.

If you’ve ever been to the Schmidt Farms operation in Simms, TX, chances are you didn’t want to leave, as it is as physically practical, functional and well laid out as any ranch in the breed. From the forage base, to the pasture size, to the way cattle flow into the facilities, it’s the real world at its very best. The other thing you noticed on this ranch, is the cattle fit the ranch - practical, functional, consistent and extremely balanced. Over the last 2+ decades Dr. Schmidt has set out to create a herd, one like another, balancing the body type, the frame size, the underline, the udder design, and the fertility into a package that works on the forage on his ranch, and in turn works for his customers. Dr. Schmidt didn’t stop at the phenotype however, he also balanced the data in the same manner, as an operation that posts as much overall consistency in terms of moderation of BW, and top 20% for WW, YW, SC, REA and IMF as any breeder in the breed. There are very few extremes in Simms, Texas, short of the summer heat and an occasional flood, its balance for a reason and balance by design. A herd built on maternal excellence with performance and carcass needed for today’s marketplace, and all the intrinsic’s built in.
For their Genetic Edge consignment, Schmidt Farms is excited to offer up the pick of their entire fall 2022 heifer crop! Included in this selection are a number of sire groups from highly proven staples of the breed as well as the leading up and comers, including the first calves offered publicly from Data Bank and County Line, not to mention the likes of Oracle, Signal, Trail Boss, Currency, Abstract, Business Line, Entourage, Cash Flow and Prime Cut. Donor dams like 7521D, 75D2, 535E20, 404E, 302C, 909Z4 and 981D2 scatter the bottom side of the pedigree of the heifers offered for this selection as well as a host of front end young 2,3,&4 year old females, including all the fall calving H model females from the Suhn dispersal – representative of the cow power at Schmidt’s and the pedigree power within this impressive opportunity.
Schmidt Farms is offering the opportunity to select 1 heifer by June 1, 2023 from their entire fall 2022 heifer crop in this offering. With the chance to select from staple cow families in the program including the 30’s, 75’s, 160’s, 166’s, 302’s, 331’s, 404’s, 416’s, 468’s, 535’s, 909’s, 981’s and a number of UB families Randy has cultivated through his intense breed-up in the Ultrablack program, the opportunity lies within to produce the next great herd sire like Brickhouse, or donor dam like the $30,000 535R3, $65,000 404A or high revenue producing 166C7, all females that have left Schmidt Farms and gone on to do great things for their next owner. There are lots of great options in this event, but none with as much ROI potential as this lot – don’t sleep on this one.

MS DMR CORONADO 415A7
|
Here’s your opportunity to own, without a doubt, the most prolific Brangus female to ever graze the green pastures of Draggin’ M Ranch. MS DMR CORONADO 415A7 has generated in excess of $430,000 in her very productive life. Some would say that being an “A” model cow, she may be entering the twilight of her productive life, but the $147,000 that she generated just in the fall of 2022 and the 17.5 embryo average that she boasts on her last 5 flushes speak to the contrary. She is youthful in her appearance as well as free moving when she travels across the pasture. One of the biggest ribbed, widest based females we’ve had the pleasure to breed and she’s extremely feminine through her forward 1/3, one of the many desirable traits that she passes along to her multitude of offspring. And while we’re on the subject of offspring, she has 143 progeny recorded in her herd-book with more matings on the ground this spring and many more to calve next fall.
When you look at the pedigree that produced this outstanding donor it really comes as no surprise that she has such a successful track record. Her dam, MS BRINKS BRIGHT SIDE 415R23, produced an astounding 259 calves throughout the course of her life and her sire, TJM CORONADO 535X, is also the sire of MS DMR CORONADO 535A8 who is now owned by Phillips Ranch and is responsible for producing Top Gun, Cash Flow, Kingdom, and Windfall and has generated well over $300,000 in her own productive life with many more matings coming down the pipeline. While her growth and carcass projections don’t blow you away at first glance, what does stand out right away are her top 1% CED ranking, top 3% BW ranking, and top 5% Milk EPD. Just imagine the multitude of High Octane growth and carcass bulls across the Brangus Breed that could be mated to this productive donor. Her high accuracy calving ease and +17 Milk numbers will compliment them perfectly when raising your next round of Herd Sires and Donor females.
So let’s summarize exactly what the opportunity that presents itself here entails. The highest revenue generating female that Draggin’ M has ever produced. SUHN’S MISS TRADITION 30F18
FENCO Farms is coming to Houston with an elite young donor cow described by the man that bred her, Vern Suhn, as “A Cowman’s Cow” and she is that kind for sure and more. Flawless in design and structure, she is right sized for the modern cattle industry and brings curve bending genetics that are rarley attained. Truly a foundational female that you can bet the ranch on to provide you with the kind of functional females that will last and stout bulls that are appealing to the cowboys. She was our choice and the high selling female at $30,000 at the 2021 GenePlus sale at Chimney Rock and had lots of friends there. She just now turned five and produced us a super nice set of ET calves with more to come. We just love her Abstract daughter going into our donor program. She sells open, fresh and ready to roll into your donor lineup. With 30F18’s curve bending genomic profile, there are so many great bulls that she will improve numbers and type. Top 10 % BW... There is a good chance she will settle to AI with the great Empower that is making his mark as the premier Never Surender son in the breed and out of the famous 30D. She is a full sister to the dam of T3 Modelo, the $65,000 selection of Stover Brangus and Cavender Brangus and whose semen is averaging over $400 per straw in past sales. Letting the good ones go with this lot. We couldn’t decide which heifer was better – so we are leaving it up to y’all. This pick is all about what your flavor of cattle is, because while these two are maternal sibs – they are very different. Both heifers are out of our 56Y donor, the dam of Heavy Duty, Majesty, and Willa Mae as well as our $26,000 high selling lot last spring. TCR Fatty Patty 56K7 is a belly dragging, soft made brood cow deluxe. She is moderate and stout made with a very maternal build. She is still plenty good looking and feminine headed. She should be easy keeping and make a whale of a cow. TCR Anita Louse 56K10 is longer and more extended than Patty with a really neat silhouette and “showy” look. She is the more growth-oriented female of the pair. If you breed this heifer right – she will make a really salty heavy bred at next years majors. Both have a really beautiful hair coat which will add to their showring appeal. These lovely ladies are out of two of the most influential Brangus herd sires of the last 20 years – Dynamite and Hercules. Both sires are easily two of our favorites and are the backbone of our operation. 56K7 is a full sister to Willa Mae, our trunk legged, monster haired heifer we showed last year that we are aiming to be the new matriarch of our club calf herd. 56K10 is a full sister to Majesty – one of the most unique Brangus heifers we have ever raised not to mention the 2022 NJBS Grand Champion Owned heifer at 5 months of age. The way it looks, either heifer is a pretty safe bet – just depends on your style!
Winning bidder gets to pick which one they want and we will take the other heifer back home. Triple Crown Ranch retains the right to one successful flush or a minimum of 6 transferrable embryos.

Valdez has emerged on the Red Brangus scene as the bull that will move the genetic needle as far as any Red Bull to come along in sometime. His impressive phenotype and herd sire presence has put him at the backdrop more than any other bull in recent years. Valdez is the reining Champion Red Brangus bull of the the 2022 Futurity in Belton and National Show of Merit in Shreveport. The new year lead him to the Championship at Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City and he has Houston in his sites. Subsequently his flush sister, Broken A Harlow 841H4 was crowned Champion Red Female at the Texas Invitational and the Futurity. Impressively enough she calved on her second birthday and came to Congress to get Reserve Champion honors as a pair. It’s no surprise Valdez and Harlow have dominated the show ring recently. Their sire Trio’s MLS Cortez 175C6 sired the 2022 International Champion Red Female for GKB Cattle. Valdez’s first calves are hitting the ground at GKB with excellent birth weights, vigor and all the look and shape we expected from him.

DCF MS WOODFORD 5137J2
Bubba and Wallace Drury are excited about this bred heifer! This is the very first registered female they have ever offered to the public. They have been in the commercial cattle business for over 50 years and been in the registered Brangus business for over 10 years now. They were long time cooperators/customers of Blackwater Cattle Company where they learned a lot and brought in cutting edge genetics each and every year.
DCF Ms Woodford 5137J2 is one of Wallace’s favorite heifers he has raised to date. This easy tempered loose hided heifer is not only phenotypically perfect, but also rivals the best in the breed when it comes to EPD’s! She boasts Top 1% WW, YW, and Term Index as well as Top 3%TM and 5% REA AND IMF. She is the daughter of GRT MSC Woodford 889G24 who was the sale topping herd sire that Drury Catfish and Cattle Farms purchased from Midsouth Cattle Company in 2020. Jasmine 2J is ready to begin her maternal career as she is bred to the newest TRIO herd sire and champion, TRIO’s FFF Huracan 101H3. Huracan 101H3 is the son of the CEO 175C5, the 2018 World Brangus Congress Grand Champion, and out of the dam of the cow maker Superman 101U. Her dam, a maternal sister to Red Velvet 204D is sired by the Balco Kommander 587A3 bull whose only progeny in the US to date walk the pastures of Tajo Ranch and Union Ranch. The Francisco bull needs little introduction, he is a past high selling bull through the ring at Genetic Edge and was named Reserve International Grand Champion Red Brangus Bull in 2020. The top side of the pedigree includes names like Zamy 175Z2 a direct daughter of Trio’s Wildfire 175W and TJR Red Dynasty 198/A who is CX breeding on the top and bottom. The marketability of her phenotype and pedigree are on the cutting edge of the Red Brangus breed. Selling 100% of this female!
She sells exposed to SA ARTILLERO 890F2 (2/1/2023-SALE DAY)
CFC MISS BIG TOWN 803K11
CFC MISS BIG TOWN 803K11 is a super long and strong made female packing extra dimension from nose to tail and the kind we all want a pasture full. Her extra long spine traces back to maternal powerhouses up and down her pedigree including her granddam, the over $250,000 producing donor, Miss Brinks Unitas 803U21 that we owned with Mike Weathers at Genesis Ranch. Big Town daughers are making their mark with extra maternal excellence and how can they miss with the 192 and 889 cow familes powering the deep genetic dimension. This ET heifer started typically modest for Big Town progeny and combined with the Augustus and 803U21 growth & carcass genetics to explode to a 12.55 yearling REA ( 1.29 REA/CWT!) and a 6.71 IMF with less than a 1/4 backfat as she was developed to grow, not get fat. 803K11’s donor dam is by Augustus, the sire of Suhn’s Trail Boss 30B3 who is making a huge mark across the breed for his fault free and productive progeny. Her dam was always one of Melanie’s favorite cows as she is a prototype for Brangus beef cows and now is owned by Reggy McDaniel in Louisiana. This heifer is open and has not been flushed or had an OPU performed and is ready for a multiple number of top Brangus herd sires that will be exciting to see the outcome. Note her Top 1% Heifer Preg, 2% REA, 4% Term, 5% WW, 10% YW & IMF, 20% STAY & 25% Total Maternal. Add it all up and this donor prospect is the kind that can make a sire famous.
