PHILLIPS RANCH
FROM TIM PHILLIPSWelcome back to Phillips Ranch! Our first 5 years were an investment in land, equipment, personnel, and most importantly our Brangus cattle, leading up to our Inaugural Production Sale, which was an incredible success. We remain committed to the Brangus breed and to providing the most elite cattle to our friends and fellow Brangus breeders. I am more than pleased to welcome you back to Phillips Ranch for our second annual production sale. I couldn’t be more excited! Phillips Ranch remains committed to developing long standing relationships with our customers, as well as continuing the ethical standards that we all love in this industry. These standards are one of the reasons I was drawn to the cattle industry.
It is our honor to have some of the best ranches in the Southeast participate in our second sale. The cattle offered in this sale are the very top in the breed and will surely enhance the future genetics of the new owners.
Thank you again for joining us for our second annual production sale.
Sincerely,
Tim PhillipsPHILLIPS RANCH

Welcome
TO PHILLIPS RANCH
It is with great excitement that I welcome you back to Phillips Ranch for our Second Annual Production ssale! Last year’s sale was amazing and we are expecting this year to be the same. I am extremely proud of the offering. We all know that the second sale is the tough one, and I felt like we had to come to the marketplace with cattle that would stir excitement. I believe we have accomplished that! From proven donors, highlighted by the famous 30G3, to heifers that will be donors, and an opportunity to flush the mother of PRB Big Deal 99J4. I am truly excited for friends and fellow breeders to appraise our product.
I want to extend a thank you to our consigners. They have certainly brought a group of females to the sale that are as good as I have ever seen. AV Brangus, Fenco Farms, Quail Valley Farms, Vanna Farms, Capote Cattle Company, Great Mark Western, Saddle Hill Cattle Company, Willow Oak Brangus, Clegg Sod Farm, and Strickland Sod Farm.
As always, I want to thank Tim and Lisa Phillips for making this venture possible. Without the Phillips Family and the hard working staff at Phillips Ranch, none of this would be possible. Please join us Friday evening for a steak dinner and entertainment by the Paul Bogart Band. If there is anything we can do to make your time with us more enjoyable, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Rob Singleton General ManagerPHILLIPS RANCH

Followed by footnotes.
40A: 76 lb. BC born 3/24/23 sired by PRB Advantage 1912H5. PHN: 99L2, REG: R10522306. Sired by the proven Stonewall bull, this 99 female is backed by Csonka on both sides of her pedigree. She has a stout late March born bull calf out of the Advantage bull, who is a son of the lot 3 female 1912C1 donor who is doing a fantastic job with his first set of calves on the ground.
EPD / EPD % Ranking within breed
EPDs
Expected Progeny Difference (EPDs) is the best estimate of an animal’s genetic merit for a particular trait. It takes into account the animals’ own performance compared with its contemporaries and the performance of its relatives compared against their contemporaries.
Birth Weight (BW) EPD predicts calf size and calving ease.
Weaning Weight (WW) EPD predicts preweaning growth potential.
Yearling Weight (YW) EPD predicts overall growth potential. Milk EPD predicts the maternal contribution to weaning weight of the calf through milk production, behavior, immunity and other maternal environmental factors.
Scrotal Circumference (SC) EPD predicts not only testicular size of male progeny but also daughters onset of puberty.
Breed Back (BB) EPD explains the percentage of daughters that are expected to breed back in the first breeding season after having their first calf. This EPD adds to the suite of fertility traits to predict production ability of cows in your herd. We know the hardest time in a cow’s life to breed is for her second calf, while nursing her first. This EPD focuses specifically on that breeding opportunity. BB is also highly correlated to later in life metrics like Stayability and NC.
Number of Calves (NC) EPD is a prediction of long term producing ability of an animal’s daughters. This EPD is expressed simply as the number of calves expected in a lifetime. A larger number depicts more calves born over the lifetime of those daughters. This EPD is highly correlated with Stayability, but much easier to explain the true economic benefits.
Terminal Index (TERM) combines birth weight, weaning weight, milk production, post wean gain, bulls with a +2 index are two standard deviations above the average. Higher numbers are superior to low numbers.
Fertility Index (FERT) combines heifer pregnancy, stayability, days to first calving, mature cow weight, and back fat EPDs into a single
number. The index is expressed as s standard deviation from the breed average, meaning that bulls with a +2 index are two standard deviations above the average. Higher numbers are superior to low numbers.
ULTRASOUND EPDs
Ribeye Area (REA) EPD predicts total muscle.
Intramuscular Fat (IMF) EPD predicts % of intramuscular fat which is highly correlated to marbling.
*REA and FT are primary components of USDA YG and marbling is the primary component of USDA QG.
EPD PERCENTILE RANKINGS
Individual ranking relative to the entire breed population on a specific trait, represented in the form of a percentage, with 1% being best and 99% being worst.
There will be no sophomore slump in this year’s offering from Phillips Ranch. This year’s sale is led off by none other than the widely known 30G3 Never Surrender daughter whose influence on the Phillips Ranch and Quail Valley programs is undeniable. Just last year in our inaugural female sale this direct daughter of T3 MS Three D 30D generated a total of $57,000 with the choice of Big Lake 111F4 daughters that was purchased by Wiley Ranch and the right to flush the Never Surrender daughter who ranks in the top 1% for WW, YW and REA was selected by Brent Smith. Rarely will you find a donor with this much profit generating proof offered at this age. This 4-year-old is the type that puts all the pieces together and can elevate any program to a new level with just a single calf crop. Don’t miss the fancy heifer at her side sired by Perfect Fit of Salacoa 468G57, just another example of what this tremendous cow can do.
QVF MS NEVER SURRENDER 30G3
The rarest of genetic gems and one that will rank as the most powerful, proven, predictable, pleasing, and profitable donor cows to ever sell in Brangus! This phenotypic standout offers show ring eye appeal blended with the most unique EPD genomic panel’s in breed history! Note her THIRTEEN TRAITS in the TOP 15% of the entire national breed population; FIFTEEN TRAITS in the TOP 25%; and SIXTEEN TRAITS in the TOP 35%. Her donor dam, BWCC She’s Special 468Y18, is the greatest daughter of Something Special and from the greatest Cadence daughter in breed history, Miss Brinks Cadence 468G15.
This unmatched genetic masterpiece blends sensational calving ease and birthweight with curve bending growth, sensational carcass merit indicators, front line scrotal value, and best third of the breed for CEM. However, her most impressive genetic contributions are indicted by a BEST in the BREED TOP 1% for earned milk value, total maternal value, Stayability and Fertility Index while also moving the speedometer at a 5% of better clip for Heifer Pregnancy, Breed Back and Number of Calves, AND she still offers a 5% breed rank for Terminal Index! Drive thru every pasture in the breed and you will not find another individual with this extreme, yet neatly balanced, set of genomically enhanced EPD and Index Values!

BWCC MS OVERLOAD 468D22
Just over the last two years BWCC Ms Overload 468D22 is averaging $20,000 in daughters sold and generated in excess of $400,000 in offspring revenue with a covey of daughters now in embryo programs around the country and herd sire sons working in herds throughout the breed population. Tired of spending hard earned dollars on donor cows that fail to reach milestones in embryo production? This red carpet donor cow averages 32 viable embryos in conventional embryo collections and 24 quality embryos made thru IVF oocyte harvests! She has mated extremely well with impressive genetic diversity that includes breed greats like Big Lake, Papillion, Monument, Mile Marker, Hugo, McQueen, and Burly. Consider so many other great herd sires that can claim fortune with future embryo matings from this once in a lifetime embryo donor!
BWCC Ms Overload 468D22 is expected to calve to BWCC Milestone 158H2 and due in time for her new owner to make IVF embryos for transfer this spring season.

BWCC MERGER 468F9
This full sister to Cold Creek Lady Passport 1912C is a female that has quietly made her mark on the program here at Phillips Ranch along with Great Mark Western herd. Her balanced EPD profile and Ultrablack pedigree allows for plenty of mating flexibility. Study this female’s phenotype and you see that she provides correctness starting at the ground. She has a great udder design, and her angularity is nothing short of striking from the side. Her flush mate sister, a household name with the breed, now roams the pastures at Bill Austin’s and has a track record of producing highly sought after progeny that commands top dollar through the sale ring with a daughter recently bringing $45,000. 1912C1 has that same profit generating potential. You’ll see her Empire son offered this fall and there is little doubt he will be a sale day favorite this coming October.
GMW MS PASSPORT 1912C1
We wanted to bring something special to this sale, so here’s an opportunity to own 10X’s finest daughter to date. 10E20 has been a stand out since birth, and one we have worked in our ET program. She is a half sister to the dam of the very popular Monument 10D7, along with many others that stem directly from 10X. She posts excellent growth and carcass numbers, along with a phenotype that is easy on the eyes. She is moderate framed, big middled, long spined, with a perfect udder. She has a herd sire prospect by her side that will gain lots of attention sale day. We have ET calves on the ground, and embryos in the tank. We could write a book on how this great female will impact our program in the years to come. Take advantage to own one of the greatest 10’s ever made.
Selling full possession and interest in both cow and calf. AV is retaining the right to 1 IVF collection of at least 6 embryos.
LOT 5 | OAKS MS PASSPORT 99C67
This female might have been the buy of the year last spring. It was stated right there in the footnote this cow was about to be famous and they were right. This Passport daughter is the kind of female you spot from across the pasture and drive directly over to see every time you check cows. Her angular yet powerful design is so hard to find. It is no surprise that she produced the PRB Big Deal 99J4 bull that is doing work at Whitley Brangus Farms in North Carolina and his full brother PRB Lake Effects 99J2 who is roaming the pastures at Drury’s in Alabama. Take this opportunity to flush one of the can’t miss cows in the breed today.
Flush to the bull of the buyers choice. Guarantee 10 embryos with no cap. 99C67 averages 42 grade 1 embryos per aspiration, and they are very fertile.

~Lot 6 Choice of Fall ET Heifer Calves~
CHOOSE TO WIN - Here is an exciting pick lot of Fall ET Heifer Calves out of the fantastic $52,500 Donor, Suhn’s Miss Tradition 30F18, recently acquired by Phillips Ranch. This will be a challenging pick lot where you won’t be able to go wrong with this super strong set of Empower sired ET full sisters out of the 30F18 donor cow who produced so well for us at Fenco Farms.
You will know why Rob and Phillips Ranch made the investment to own the 30F18 cow when you see this fancy group of heifer calves. The other neat thing about these heifer calves is that we will have a tremendous set of full brothers selling this fall at the Phillips-Fenco Bull Sale and we believe that one or more could go on to make Herd Sires for registered herds.
Empower is doing just an impressive job of breeding very attractive cattle with a lot to them from a structure, growth and stoutness standpoint. You combine the 30F18 donor that result in genetic powerhouses that have growth, maternal and carcass all wrapped into one package. Take your choice of one of these heifers with EPD rankings of Top 5% or better EPD’s in WW, YW, TM, SC, REA, HfrPreg and Term.
~Lot 7 Choice of Open Heifers~
We wanted to bring the best BWCC HUGO 484H7 heifer out of our ET program. I couldn’t pick from these 2 heifers on which one is best so we are taking both to town and will let the new owner decide for his self. Good luck… These heifers will be one of the first offspring to sell of the up and coming BWCC Hugo 484H7, that was purchased by Fenco Farms and is a son of the great BWCC McQueen 192E24. Their young donor dam VF Ms Rock Solid 000F28 is a direct daughter of the great VF Ms Game Changer 000B4 that we sold to Garret Thomas and her offspring has been leading the sales across Texas. Her great grand dam is the famous MC Ms Quite Lady 000S50 that needs little introduction to being one of the leading donors in the breed and has been the building block of the Vanna Farms herd.
VF MS HUGO 000K20
VF MS HUGO 000K18
~Lot 8 Choice of Open Heifers~
These great looking genetic giants are embryo sisters from two of the most important individuals that ever came out of the Blackwater program. Their red-carpet donor dam is the sensational BWCC She’s Special 468Y18 who claims honors as the greatest daughter of Something Special and out of the greatest Cadence daughter in breed history, Miss Brinks Cadence 468G15. Their sire, BWCC Big Lake 111F4, is the breed’s most proven option for carcass merit contributions owning the extreme end of a TOP 1% IMF Value blended with a TOP 5% REA EPD. Additionally, Big Lake is the buzz of Brangus with his superior muscle mass, extra performance, added inches from stifle to stifle, extreme length of spine, and overall natural great looks. The $50,000 second high selling bull from the Phillips, Fenco and Saddle Hill Bull Sale last October is sired by Big Lake.
However, one must refer to the pedigree for the donor dam cataloged as Lot 2 and find these two sensational heifers are maternal sisters to this all-time genetic giant BWCC Ms Overload 468D22! Big Lake, 468Y18, and a maternal sister to 468D22. Nuff Said! This proven pedigree has already produced five full sisters that are in donor programs and several herd sire brothers used in herds spread across Brangus.
Note their EPD panel contributes FIFTEEN TRAITS in the TOP 25% of the breed population and proven thru their heralded pedigree and enhanced by their individual weights and measures.

~Lot 9 Choice of Bred Heifers~
SEEING DOUBLE GOOD - Really interesting Choice Lot here with identical heifer twins that there is not a lick of difference in and both are super neat made Never Surrenders. We are going to be happy to take the one you don’t pick home as we believe these girls have some genetic gold in them. It is one of the easiest choice lots that has ever sold!
Although we believe that Brangus mamas have more than enough milk across most of the breed, these heifers are exceptional if you want to add explosive Milk EPD’s. Their dam, a Landau daughter, is one of the elite Milk cows in the breed with a +25 Milk and she proved it by weaning these twins for a total of 1323 pounds combined adjusted weaning weight! These heifers are neat and complete in their kind and boast some eye popping numbers with 8 traits in the Top 15% of the breed including a Top 1% Total Maternal and Top 2% WW & YW.

~Terms & Conditions~
Bidding
Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. After an adequate time has been allowed for bidding, the auctioneer’s decision shall be final. All winning bids are a legally binding contract.
Terms
Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, but it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of 48 hours after the sale, whichever occurs sooner. After 48 hours a maintenance fee of $5.00 per day will be assessed until pickup unless the female owner or Phillips Ranch arranges shipment.
Sight Unseen Purchases
Buyers may purchase females or bulls through Phillips Ranch personnel or designated sale consultants at auction without viewing the cattle. For sight unseen purchases, the buyer has the right of inspection at the time of delivery. If the animal is deemed unsatisfactory, it may be reloaded on the delivery truck and returned to female or bull owners ranch at no obligation to the buyer. All transportation expenses will be the responsibility of the seller. If the animal is deemed unsatisfactory within one week of the purchase, the buyer may, at their expense, return the animal to the female owner’s ranch for a full refund of the purchase price.
Certificate of Registry
A transferred certificate of registry will be furnished to the purchaser for each registered animal once proper settlement has been made.
Health
Health papers suitable for interstate shipment will be furnished on all animals.
Announcements
Any changes from the information of any kind in this catalog will be provided in a sale day supplement sheet or announced from the auction block and such information shall take precedence over cataloged information.
Breeding Guarantee
All animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception of: a) calves under 12 months of age; b) animals shown by purchaser after sale in which the guarantee (if any) shall be between the seller and the buyer; c) injury or disease occurring after the sale; d) gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser; e) death by any reason. Safe in calf females have been examined by competent personnel and are so guaranteed. Exposed females have been exposed but are not guaranteed to be safe in calf. Open females have not been served and are so guaranteed. This is not a life insurance policy. Seller will not replace a dead animal if it is killed or dies for any reason. We would suggest that normal care still needs to be exercised toward these animals and that yearling bulls should be fed so they can continue to develop properly.
Options and Privileges of Return or Adjustment
All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing within six months of the sale date. In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the animal may be returned to owner’s ranch, if in good condition and complying with the health requirements of their state. The seller shall be entitled to a six-month trial following the return of the animal in which to prove that the animal is a breeder. If at the end of six months the seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall at the option of the buyer replace the animal with another of equal value or issue a credit for the initial selling price. If the seller proves the animal to be a breeder, it shall be the obligation of the purchaser to take delivery of the animal and pay all expenses incurred for transportation.
If an animal is sold and at a later date proves not to be eligible for registration under association rules, the seller shall be obligated to make a satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer, refund the purchase price or issue a credit for the initial selling price upon the return of the animal to the farm of the seller.
If an animal is sold and through DNA is proven to have incorrect parentage as represented by the certificate of registration, and for which the parentage can be determined, the seller shall be obligated to make a satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer, refund the purchase price or issue a credit for the initial selling price upon the return of the animal to the farm of the seller.
Rights and Obligations
The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal and shall be equally binding on both. Other than the guarantees and warranties stated above, no other warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied. Each sale or resale of an animal constitutes a separate transaction. Phillips Ranch nor any other person connected with the management of the sale, assumes any liability, legal or otherwise.
