WELCOME
The 2024 Select Heifer Sale is here and we could not be more excited to share these calves with you!
We were blessed with a great spring and early summer with plenty of rain, green grass and some cooler temps and our calf crop certainly benefitted! Perhaps the most complete set of Red Angus that we have ever offered, we at BCR narrowed it down to 8 heifers that we feel have what it takes to make it in the show ring. More importantly, we feel they will make great foundation females for any program and can be the money-making kind of cows. We have a variety of sire groups this year, a little old school with Red NCJ Lazy MC Venom 34Z, tried and true Red Lazy MC Hollywood 127C and Red Wilbar Motivation 686H and exciting new additions Red Lazy MC Open Fire 222H and Smoky Y Walk It Out 2134J.
Brian will often be heard saying that our cattle are centered around quality, productivity and longevity. We raise cattle to first and foremost be production animals- Females geared toward having their first calf at 2 years old and having a calf every year after that and bulls that are ready to go to work at 12 months old. This focus drives every decision for our cow herd, and our goal is for the heifers that we sell to be able to have the same productivity for their new families.
A focus on productivity also shines through in our consignors. Barton Cattle, 6B Brangus, Big House Show Cattle, Burks Cattle, Ellis Beefmasters and Hagan Cattle Co have all had their share of success both in and out of the ring. Many major wins, Show Females of the Year, Show Bulls of the Year and countless quality cattle have graced all of their barns and pastures. We once again thank them for choosing to showcase their top heifers in our sale and can’t wait to continue to cheer them on in all aspects of their lives.
Our sale weekend will be full of fun and festivities! Open House on Friday, a Junior Clinic and college football watching marathon on Saturday topped off with a steak dinner and wrapping it up with some good ol’ BBQ and a LIVE sale on Sunday. We hope you can join us in person or be sure to tune in to the sale on Sunday via CCI.live.
Sincerely,
Brian, Caroline, Lindsey, Bexley and Cash Rogers

He stamps his calves with tons of natural muscle and big big middles, and this girl is no exception. RED BCR BESS 120M
REG #: 4970514 • DOB: 3/26/24 • BREED: RED ANGUS
SIRE: SMOKY Y WALK IT OUT 2134J
DAM: RED BCR BESS 702E
If you have ever been around BCR, you probably have heard about Bess 702E. The Bess cow family consistently produces some of our favorite calves, on both the female and the bull side. We purchased a bull, Walk It Out, from Smoky Y last spring and doubled down on him, using him on a set of cows as well as using him to flush some of our best donors to. This cool March heifer is one of his progeny, and we can confidently say that made a good purchase! Unfortunately he is no longer around, so it was a long hard discussion about selling any of his daughters, but ultimately we decided we wanted to offer our best show heifer prospects and this girl definitely fit that bill! If you like deep bodied, big legged and long fronted, this is your girl!

UDE PHYLLIS 4277
REG #: PENDING • DOB: 5/9/2024 • BREED: ANGUS
SIRE: KR CASINO 6243
DAM: UDE PHYLLIS 9129
UDE Phyllis 4277 is a result of one of the hottest pedigrees in the angus business right now. Casino on the top side has been siring champions at all levels for years, and UDE Phyllis 9129 on the bottom side has really started to followin the footsteps of her mother, FCF Phyllis 532, the mother of multiple national champions in both the Angus and Simm-Angus breed. One of her most notable successes is the up-andcoming Angus sire, UDE New Heights 62/87. 4277 has all the pieces to make an ultra-competitive Angus show heifer and then go on to the donor pen to do big things in production. I think you’ll find she possesses all the look and show ring presence you could ask for. She comes and goes on a great set of running gear and does so with all the muscle and body needed to compete in the show ring today.
BRTN MALIFICENT 11M
REG #: LFF3154612 • DOB: 4/18/2024 • BREED: LIM-FLEX
SIRE: EXCESSIVE FORCE
DAM: SSTO ALL WORK 342A
Our Limousin numbers were a little shorter this year, but the quality has been as high as ever. BRTN Malificent 11M comes from a cow that we have kept countless daughters of to use in our own Limousin program. This one continues to fit the mold that we’ve come to expect. 11M is a higher percentage Lim-Flex female that comes with so much freedom in what she can be mated to, and still produce Lim-Flex progeny, or breed her to a purebred and make a purebred. We believe she will be a big addition to any herd. On the hoof this one comes to you in a slightly greener package that just gets better with time. We couldn’t ask her to be any better structured or more maternal in her overall build. She has all the bone and foot, and extra look and ring presence needed to compete today.

BRTN MAGICIAN 1M
REG #: PENDING • DOB: 3/10/2024
BREED: MAINE ANJOU
SIRE: BNWZ DATA BANK
DAM: BARTONS HARPER H011 ET
BRTN Magician 1M is a High Maine female that is just so hard to pick a hole in. She really is the complete package from her structure to her maternal abilities, this one fits the bill. BRTN Harper H011 was shown by our good friends, the Heselmeyer family, and had a very successful show career herself. She capped her show career being named the Reserve Junior Yearling at Cowgirls in Cowtown; the Fort Worth replacement show in 2021. 1M’s Grandam is a producer of many high sellers here at Barton Cattle and heifers like this are the reason why. This one’s structure and Maternal build say she’s in it for the long haul.*1M’s personality will be better suited for an experienced showman.

BRTN MY KINDA CAKE 17M
REG #: 554816 • DOB: 4/4/2024 • BREED: MAINTAINER
SIRE: BBR JUSTIFIED 712J
DAM: CMAC PATTY CAKE
Big hair, big feet, big muscled, long necked and great moving, what more could you want? This may be the highest quality show heifer we have consigned this year, and she comes by it naturally. Colton Barton showed this one’s mother to many successes, including being named the Reserve Continental Female at the 2019 San Antonio Livestock Expedition. This one is young, but the pieces are there for her to be big time good!

SIRE: GATEWAY BIG GAME HUNTER
DAM: JF BHSC CARDI BRIGHTSIDE 02J
Big game hunter x brightside x Monti montana x Mamie, let’s just call that a House recipe. 24M has the stars aligned in her pedigree and proves that they breed true and has the disposition to match. She is young and juvenile but her upside and ceiling is as high and limitless as they make purebred Charolais heifers. Offered by Jase Fortner and Big House Show Cattle
Seller: BIG HOUSE SHOW CATTLE

HAGAN PEBBLES 7328M
REG #: ASA # 4411669 ACA # PENDING • DOB: 6/4/24 • BREED: 50% SIMMENTAL 50% CHAROLAIS
SIRE: LAZY MC LAST CALL 227J
DAM: HAGAN BAM BAM 7328G
If you know our crew, we aren’t scared to do something out of the box. We took a purebred Charolais cow and bred her to a purebred red Simmental bull. I’ll say it turned out just like we planned but we can go with luck as well. Talk about one that is packed full of red meat and still looks like a breeding show heifer in our mind. Perfect yellow color, hairy as a June heifer calf can be in south central Texas, and still can get out and go on the move. Show her, raise those good looking show heifers with a nickel more punch, or just take her halter off sale day and focus on making slick show steers. Bid with confidence! Dual registered so she’s eligible for two state shows and two junior nationals!

This is a can’t miss mating that will be fun to bring back to the Texas majors as a heavy bred. The females that trace back to Outcross on the maternal side of the pedigree are always tough to beat in the end, we expect the same from “Mischief”!

Lot 22
6B MS MILEY JB 206M
REG #: BB10559885 • DOB: 1/21/24 • BREED: ARB
SIRE: 6B JOHN BOY 804J10
DAM: FOERSTER MS FAITH 206J
SIRE OF LOT 22 6B JOHN BOY 804J10
We don’t raise a lot of ARB’s but we sure try to make them like this one when we do. Her sire, John Boy had a show career filled with wins at the state and national level but was ultimately highlighted by being named Supreme American Bull at the Cattlemen’s Congress. His first calves are finally old enough to show and we believe they are going to make some waves in the future! Her dam traces back to the great 804H33, the foundation of the 804 cow family in the DDD herd for many years. This females looks just like her picture, she is massive from every angle while maintaining an elegant front end and a trim chest floor. This female can do it all, she will compete at the national level but don’t be surprised when you see “Miley 206M” raise a high selling American Steer in a few years.
