Weapons of the Civil War Cavalryman

The release of the 20 Civil War stamps marked the most extensive effort in the history of the U.S. Postal Service to review and verify the historical Back accuracy of stamp subjects. The 16 individuals and four battles were chosen from a list of 50 subjects, with the goal of showing the wide variety of people who participated in the Civil War. Walter. During the American Civil War, the mounted soldiers fighting on both sides of the conflict carried a wide array of weapons, from sabers and lances to carbines, revolvers, and other firearms. 1865 U.S. 3-Cent Coin

During the Civil War, small denomination notes representing sums under $1 were Authentic issued to combat the coin Artifact! shortage due to hoarding. The small slips of paper would become ragged and dirty, and by 1864 the public grew tired of them. Congress agreed to mint a 3-cent piece in copper-nickel alloy in 1865; the 3-cent nickel, as it was often referred to. It was well received initially, though its popularity waned with the introduction of the 5-cent nickel the following year, as the larger value better fit the decimal system. ¾" diameter. #111449 $49.95
