SMART FORMS VS. PDFS
Electronic Signatures have built in intelligent features: • Automatically links certain fields with other documents in the AppFile, such as people and their roles. • Alerts and notifications of missing or incomplete fields prior to completing, sending or exporting. • Built in, automatic electronic signature/initial fields so that signatures and initial tags are already placed and ready for all parties involved. PDF files do not have eSignature features they are essentially a digital piece of paper that can be marked up via the element tool.
Forms must be sent to eSign and converted to pdf for markups. Documents are uploaded into the Documents folder as a flattened .pdf. If you make a mistake on your mark ups in eSign, the session must be copied and restarted.

HOW DO I AVOID MISSING INFO / SIGNATURES? In AppFiles, there is an eSignaure Link that checks to make sure the most important fields in your forms are completed before you send, export or sign a form. This link also provides the status of the requests that are outbound.
In rDocs, make sure you open each document and look at each field to review.
