www.hnsmag.com

www.BizzardoFlisci.tumblr.com I f you are loyal to underground hip hop, you have probably heard of Biz z y Crook. H e is one of those artists, that as soon as you hear him flow , you become an instant fan! W henever you hear him on any track or feature, he is alw ays the hottest artist on the track. H NS first heard Biz z y Crook on the W ords Gone W ild E argasm mixtape volume 5 . W e played the track called “M ake it back ft. V ido 5 times in a row ! This up and coming rap star has shared tracks w ith artists like Jim Jones and Nelly. W e sat dow n w ith this underground star for the exclusive H NS Q& A I nterview .

The Exclusive Interview H ow did you come up w ith the name Biz z y Crook? “ I came up with Bizzy Crook when I was about 15. I always hung out with the older kids, and a lot of the older kids had nick names. P lus I was rapping about guns and drugs a whole lot (Ha ha) so I kinda just came up with a name from scratch. W hen I stopped rapping about those things I kept it because I felt it was edgy, being that I wasn' t rapping about what you' d expect to hear Bizzy Crook rapping about.” W here is your H ometow n? “ Miami and W est Miramar, F L.” W hen w as it that you realiz ed you have the gift to be one of the best in the game? “ I been rapping since I was 6 . Growing up I just knew I wanted to rap, and I wanted them to listen. It wasn' t until about 3 years ago that I actually realized to myself, Jay- Z & K anye W est, amongst a few others are running the game right now. Those are the best guys. I want to fit in with those guys. Everyone else is not that good. I want to be one of the best.”

M any listeners do not appreciate the level of talent you must have acq uired to be able to produce consecutive H ot songs. Did you have to w ork hard to master this? Or does it come naturally for you? “ Great question...and thank you by the way. I' d have to say it came naturally. Before I listened to rap, I listened to every other kind of music. So I was able to appreciate music as a whole, before I even said this is what I want to do. W ith that being said my mind was more open, and diverse as opposed to someone who started rapping at a later age, and only being a fan of urban music. W hen I write music I don' t necessarily like to call it " rap" . I like to put it in the bigger category of MUSIC.” I f you w eren’ t in the M usic industry, w hat do you think you w ould be doing right now ? “ This is almost impossible for me to answer, haha. I’ m really into art in general. Not just music but I' m a really big fan of paintings. I’ m a fan of getting your message across through ART. So if I wasn' t an artist, I' d probably be a painter.”

Red carpets, flashing lights, meeting and greeting w ith the stars w ith everything going on, how does it feel to be in the position to do j ust about anything you w ant w ith your career? “ Sometimes it’ s still surreal. W hen I was 9 , I was doing choirs at my parents laundry mat, to get the diplomatic immunity album. Now Jim Jones is a friend of mines. It’ s crazy. It’ s definitely a blessing, to aim for a goal at 6 years old, and come this close to achieving it.” L et's Talk about P.S I 'm Sorry 2 M ixtape is so hot H NS thinks it could of been an album. 1 3 Banging tracks including “M ake it Back” ( The H NS Favourite) and the Song and V ideo everyone is talking about "Ferraris and Goddesses" A very pow erful meaningful track. W hat inspired the mindset you must have been in to w rite Ferraris and Goddesses. “ I love this question! I wrote F erraris & Goddesses while living in Harlem, NY . Harlem is so gritty. I wrote the record while walking to the barbershop. It’ s just so many things you see. F erraris & Goddesses is the American dream. EV ERY O NE wants it.”

www.hnsmag.com

www.hnsmag.com

F erraris symbolizes material things we all want. Even if you’ re not the most materialistic person, there is still things we want. It’ s human nature, desire for nice things. The Goddess represents SUCCESS, which we all feel we need. W alking through Harlem, you can see a dope boy on the block, and a mother walking home from her third job, and they both have something in common. No matter what they do to get there, there dream is F erraris & Goddesses.” Since w ere on the topic of the mixtape, I gotta give you props on Number 5 "W ork" FT. multi- platinum artist Jim Jones. Describe the moment and how you felt after you heard

"W ork"? “I was actually in the studio with Jim while we did work (No pun intended). He turned up the music, and sat to himself for about ten minutes. Just rapping under his breath, no writing nothing. Then he said I’ m ready. W ent in the booth and knocked out his verse. W hen I heard it I knew it was a hit. O f course this was months ago, before every one had " W O RK , W O RK , W O RK " In their hooks. Haha” Y our definitely show ing the w orld that you can do maj or moves w ithout a maj or L abel, Do you have any interests in signing with a Major Label? “ Definitely when the time is right, but my dream label would be RO C NATIO N or GO O D MUSIC. That would

be everything.” Ok so the Diamond selling St. L unatic Nelly’ s latest mixtape "Scorpio Season" has got a Banging track called "L ike That" featuring you Biz z y Crook and Trae The Truth. Can you tell us a bit about how all that j umped off? “ Man that’ s another surreal moment. I also ran around the house doing a bunch of chores to get the Country Grammar album, haha. My manager AG is executive producing Nelly’ s new album. So he basically called the night before Scorpio Season dropped and was like " Y o you got 1hour to do this record for Nelly’ s new tape" . So I did my verse. Nelly liked it, and it ended up being the 1st actual track on the tape.”

These days it’s not easy to have both respect, and fame in this industry, If you had to choose one of the two, would you choose Fame or Respect? “Def respect. Now a days you can do something stupid on worldstar for some quick fame. I'd take respect.” “HNS HOTTEST 4 BARS” in your opinion what is your hottest or favourite 4 bars you have ever wrote? “Man this is the best interview I've ever done. Haha. Hardest question ever also. Hmmm...There’s so many but I’m gonna go with We made it out the dirty, we made it out the sewers// They talking 'bout my girl but what’s a bad b**tch with no rumors// Friends change but we already knew this// So when you’re living like Ceasar, you better watch out for Brutus - Dead Or Alive.” Do you have a website or fan page, you would like to share with your fans to connect with Bizzy Crook, to give you feedback and possibly get a response from you?” Yeah I respond to everyone on twitter. My twitter is @BizzyCrook and make sure to hit up my tumblr for all my latest, news, music etc. It’s BizzardoFlisci.tumblr.com” Interviewed by PERMASHINE

J E W E L A L E X A ND R A B R A NG M A N What characteristics do you look for in people as far as

choosing your friends? “I look for people who aren't afraid to be dorks, I don't trust anyone who thinks they are too cool. Sense of

humor is key, I don't take myself too seriously, I try and be around those who do the same.”

What do you consider to be undesirable traits for guys to have? “Poor manners, lying, lack of compassion, lack of patience, arrogance, pretentious, superficial.”

What do you consider to be inappropriate characteristics for a girl to have? “I don't take sides; the same characteristics that make a male undesirable also make a female undesirable. My Dad always says

“There's nothing worse than a loud girl with an annoying voice.” I

agree. I always say, “If you want to be treated like a lady you have to act like a lady.”

If you were deserted on an island, what three things would you hope to have with you? “Water, Music, and A Picture of Family and Friends.”

If your life was a flavor what would it be? why? “Rainbow sherbet. Multi-flavored is my life; exciting, unpredictable, colorful, and delicious.”

Is there an embarrassing moment you would like to share? “I have too many trips, falls and embarrassments to keep track of. One

moment sticks out, the first night I met my boyfriend we had a dance off, I thought I could pull off the old hold your foot jump over your leg trick. I couldn't, I cut short and ate a mouth full of carpet in front of a party of strangers...he still called the next day.”

JESSICA GRAIE

www.hnsmag.com

JGRAIE: The Interview Meet Jessica Harris,

songstress from Cleveland, Ohio. You may know her by her artist name JGraie, who’s sultry sound soothes your soul. How did you come up with your artist name? “ I

attended an all-black high school and a practically all white college. Through both experiences I’ve learned that it’s really never black or white it’s the beautiful combination of the two. Grey, or in my spelling JGRAIE.”

What is your favorite moment in your career so far? “ I’ve had many

moments I will narrow it down to 3. My first performance on stage is my favorite moment, leading up to it I was so nervous, but seeing the crowd, the support and everything else told me I was meant to do it: that was my defining moment. Last year I was voted Ohio Hip Hop Award Model of the Year, which is big because it’s your own state and peers voting for you, it’s nothing like having local support and being shot for Essence Hair were pretty awesome moments as well.”

What would be your ultimate goal? “One day

becoming a household name. You know like JGraie’s performing tonight on the VMA’s , or JGraie’s new spread in Vogue is amazing lol something like that.”

Is there anyone in the industry that inspires you?

If so who? “I know she is a lot of people’s inspiration but I can see why. Beyonce shows exactly what can happen through practice and dedication. I would never try to be like her, I just want to adopt that sick work ethic.”

Favourite artist of another genre? “Evanescence, Coldplay, Carrie Underwood. ”

If you weren’t doing what you are what do you think your 2nd choice would be?

“Since music and modeling are my 1st choice. I would pick a secular career. I am a senior at CSU where my intent is news casting. Yes I would definitely love that.”

What sets you aside from other artist/model? “At this

point in my career I cannot be labeled. I don’t want to be an artist that is limited to one genre. I plan to take my listeners on a roller coaster of different sounds, looks and emotions. As a model I really believe my natural

frame and natural elegance sets me apart from other models.”

Any future projects you would like to discuss? I

have so many upcoming projects and performances. I am excited about the video for Heart Stop featuring Mookie Montonio that will be released in February of 2013. I ask that you definitely look out for that it’s a really different fun pop song that shows some versatility.”

Other facts: “I love to play

basketball, I play the flute, and I act as well. I was recently in a play called “Beautiful Addiction”. I am one of six girls no brothers.”

Is there anywhere your fans can leave positive feedback and possibly get a reply from you? “ Definitely I always

respond and appreciate what my listeners say to me, it’s important! My website www.jgraie.com www.facebook.com/JGraie www.reverbnation.com/jgr aie. ”

Favourite place in the world to be? “Would I be

an entertainer if I didn’t say ON STAGE? Lol I honestly feed off the lights. There is nothing like walking on the runway or performing.”

Favourite Food? “I love Italian: Lasagna,

Choreographer/dancer: Alisa Huffman, Stylist: fettuccine, ravioli.” JaeNicole Eatmon Hairstylist: Ronnie Favourite Drink? “ Am I Bugg/Kayla Wright, allowed to say Tequila? Makeup Artist: Danielle lol, if not ok Simply Verdino, Carla thank you to John Lee, Lady Trauma, Lemonade Raspberry!” Big Heff, Snugz, Bighead Favourite Artist: Tamia/ Dez, P.Jones, Michael Beyonce/Lauryn Hill Walker, Cleveland’s Trump, STS Media and Special shout outs? “ An everyone else who artist is nothing without an supports my dreams and amazing team I would like visions. Thank you!” to thank them! Special thanks to our writing team: Wryter’s Block= A. Wryter, Lauren Ashley, and www.reverbnation.com/ jgraie Pompii/

HNS COVER MODEL

D E Z M A I

www.hnsmag.com

The Exclusive Interview HNS cover girl, Dez Mai comes to us from Greensboro, NC. Dez Mai is a freelance and published model, who believes a model should be well rounded with all aspects of photography and being behind the scenes of the industry. HNS sat down for the exclusive. Where is your favourite place in the world to be? “My favourite place to be is my apartment, I can chill out after a long day and sleep or cook or just sit around and watch movies.” Where do you get the majority of your support for your career? “A huge majority of my support comes from Raza Ry. We talk about different things I'm doing as well as what he's doing with his Clothing line UxU which I was the first model of the line, he got me started with modeling so he's always in my corner.” Where do you see yourself in the future? “I see myself as a successful business woman, doing everything I've thought of doing and being the best at it and continuing to work with the best people.”

Is there anyone in the industry who inspires you? “The earlier pioneers of the Urban modeling industry, how they took their publicity to the bank.“ What is your idea of an ideal career for you? “Being the face of a major company, doing promotions and promoting my products and business ventures as well.” You are very diverse when it comes to your photographs, what type of modeling is your favourite? “I would have to say Urban Glam, there's so many different ways I have done it with themes. I just go and have fun no matter if I'm burning up outside in 95+ degree weather or freezing cold at night in 30 degrees with the wind blowing.” What made you choose modeling? When did you first start modeling? “I was always asked to do it from childhood and I never had the time with cheerleading, chorus and dance growing up so I just decided to get into it during college to keep me busy and it definitely has.”

What do you feel that you have that sets you aside from other models “For me I can do so many different things, I'm able to be super sexy for Urban Glam and sophisticated for Bridal and formal shoots as well. My body is naturally athletic so I can do fitness modeling and artistic modeling. Which all of that under my belt I am extremely versatile and I always give my best at what I do. I am also knowledgeable with photography so the photographer can talk about lights, settings, triggers and actually have a legitimate conversation about them with me and that doesn't happen much at all with models.” Where do you see yourself in 1 0 years? ”In 1 0 years I will have my own businesses. I plan on starting a beauty bar which will include make up, nails, slight shopping and a bar of course, and expanding with more of them in different areas of the country.” What are the 5 things you can't live without? *Makeup, hair supplies, food, talking with my best friends and shopping.”

As well as the release of Eye Cavity 3 and another photography book. I recently did a cookie shoot for Delicious Bites it'll be a must see coming up.”

Do you have a website or fan page, where your fans can give you feedback and possibly get a response from you? “I am currently working on my website's concept. It will be up in a few months I'm very excited for it. Right now you can add me on Facebook (Dez Mai), Twitter and Instagram everything will always be DezMai. I am also all over the Mr7545 app that is ready for download right now with unreleased shots of myself. I do respond personally to people who come to me asking questions about how I did something or what they should do in starting their modeling career etc. I do not typically respond to guys trying to holler at me

www.facebook.com/modeldezmai

It's still annoying and I'm not single so I can't help you at the moment.” Please provide any social networking sites you would like us to promote. “Twitter: @DezMai Facebook: Dez Mai Instagram: dezmai” Any shoutouts? “Raza Ry (UxU, Raza Ry Photography), James Williams (Inergee Studios), Ron Huntley (Mr. 7545, Mr. Phuceew Too), Derrick Clegg (EnvyMag.com), WildcatSmall, Furanku Suotto (Face Off Photography), Triz (True Xposure Photography), Delicious Bites Cookies and Rarshi Bond (Queensofkings.com) and Charles Reeves.”

TAKING TA A G THE T TH HE THRONE T TH HR O NE IN I N THE TH E TH RAP RAP GAME GAME

The Exclusive Interview Every single time that you hear Young Prince, he never lets you down. He is always spittin’ the hottest verses. If you’re a fan of the underground hip hop scene, you definitely have to know who Young Prince is. He puts it on for his city Queens and the success of his new mixtape proves he is on his way to the top. HNS Magazine had to catch up with the artist that is next in line for the throne. Young Prince had more songs on the countdown than any artist has every had on HNS Radio.

When was it that you realized you have the gift to be one of the best in the game?

advantages that a lot of other unsigned artists don't usually have nowadays.”

“When I first heard myself on the radio... That feeling is irreplaceable and it gave me the courage to really tell myself that I have what it takes but I still need to work harder and smarter.”

Before Release were you expecting such a sucessful Mixtape?

Many listeners do not appreciate the level of talent you must have acquired to be able to produce consecutive Hot songs. Did you have to work hard to master this? Or does it come naturally for you?

“ It definitely took time to master everything especially since I mix all my records myself... It adds more time and effort “When I was around 15 to my projects but it’s years old I came up with been a lil’ easier since I the name Young Prince. My reason was because of been freestyling the fact that a Prince takes all of my newest records the Kings throne when the lately. King dies out... which basically means I felt that How does it feel to be in the position to do just I'm not the about anything you want best yet but with time, with your career? hard work and patience one day I could take that “Lol... I don't believe I can thrown.” do ANYTHING I want with my career but I do believe I have a lot of What inspired you to Name yourself Young Prince?

“Me and the team really worked hard on this tape... They probably hate me ‘cause I'm real picky with records especially since it was my first official solo tape (lol). But it definitely meant a lot to me and I didn't wanna half ass it... I was glad DJ Jus wanted to be apart of the project cause it really gave it that Queens feel. But overall with the time and work we put into this project the numbers weren't really expected but definitely appreciated!” Describe the moment and how you felt after you heard the finished version of my favorite joint on the mixtape "63 Niggas"? “Me and the bro Tru Damair was in the studio listening back to that record about 500 times... That had to be one of the rawest records on the tape because of the fact that it showed that "I Don't Give A F***" additude on it.”

Multi-Platinum artist Tyrese featured you along side Multi-Platinum artist Ludacris in the "Too Easy" (Remix) Video. Can you tell us a bit about how all that jumped off? “At first I wasn't on the official remix of the record. DJ Clue gave me the idea to do a remix to the record and when I finished it got rotation on Power 105.1 immediately. With so much people talking about it, it got back to Tyrese and he gave Clue a call to ask if I could come out to Atlanta to shoot the Remix video because he

wanted it to be the official remix. Real recognize real I guess... S/O to Tyrese, Ludacris and DJ Clue tho!” “HNS HOTTEST 4 BARS” in your opinion what is your hottest or favourite 4 bars you ever wrote?

I'd probably be up a heaven's gate trynna work out an agreement." Deff feel like this was my dopest line... Be on the lookout for this one tho!”

HNS

“Its actually on a unreleased record but it goes: "Everytime I wake up from a dream I grab my toast without a meanin, Cause word to Luther King n*ggas gettin killed for dreamin, But if they all skeamin and I die right now,

BEATS 101 The best method for getting instrumentals for your project is having a very talented producer that you’ re tight with. Y ou can work out a great deal on exclusives and build a trust and possibly be able to record and mix your tracks with the same producer. Everything remains in person and off line. But let' s not forget what we all want. The hottest beat we can get our hands on, and let’ s face it, we all don' t know someone on a friend level that can put it down like that. So we sometimes have to go where we know the hot beats are… … the internet. Many artists can' t afford to pay the high prices for exclusive rights for an Instrumental, so we lease. A lease generally gives us permission to use the beat for non- profit use. Being 2 013 , unless you’ re already a super star mixtapes and

singles are free, as a matter of fact it' s sometimes even hard to get massive free downloads of your free music. W ith that being said a lease is a good start for music you plan on distributing online free. W hen picking a beat to lease, you want to get the value for your money. Look for beats that haven' t been used too many times. It' s best to avoid using beats that are available for free tagged downloads. And sometimes it' s a good idea to look for talented producers up and coming, rather than the number one producer on Soundclick. F ree tagged downloads are good for a freestyle or battle cypher, contests. demos etc. Avoid using free tagged downloads for your mixtapes, albums, radios or shows. It' s not a good look, and even if you got a hot track a lot of new fans won' t take you seriously. It also makes you look too cheap to be spitting about ballin’ .

Exclusive - when you know you got a hit song it' s a good idea to go exclusive. Exclusive usually runs from $ 3 50 to $ 2 000. If the cost is less than $ 2 00 you really need to do your homework and figure out why. W hen you purchase exclusive rights to an instrumental it means your purchasing the complete ownership of the instrumental. Y ou should receive a contract with your name and the producers in agreement to those terms. Y our audio should be in high quality wave files also tracked out.

IMP O RTANT. Before sending that exclusive money make sure the beat isn' t a free tagged download, search the producer on other sites as well to make sure it' s not a free download somewhere else. Ask the producer how many times it' s been leased in the past the answer should be 0 if not what are we doing here?

Precious Steward is ready to take on the modelling world by storm. Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada USA, Precious has the perfect backdrop to become serious competition to her peers. Already familiar with the pressure of having all eyes on her, she doesn't shy away when the cameras start flashing. She sees the art in modelling, whereas many models see the fame and fortune. While just starting out, she has expressed a defined interest in continuing to hone her abilities and to learn as she goes. She is real, she speaks her mind and she is not afraid to tell it like it is - she will do famously in the modelling industry and HNS supports her every endeavor and dream.

TREL TR R MACK HELD H ELD D DOWN O W N THE T HE #11 SPOT # S P O T ON O N HNS HNS RADIO R RA ADIO F FOR OR 5 CONSEC UTIVE CONSECUTIVE WEEKS WEEKS

TREL MACK: HNS RADIO RECORD BREAKER Let' s talk about the song " W here do we go" , one of the hottest songs ever played on HNS Radio. Lasting longer than any other song in the history of HNS Radio. F ive weeks on # 1, still on the top 10 to this day. W hat inspired you to create this masterpiece? “ Thanks man, I want to say thank you first and foremost for giving it a chance. Honestly, I never would’ ve thought that would be the one to get much attention because of the message behind it. Y ou know the music industry is so single driven for the clubs. The song is basically talks about being trapped in a mental state of not knowing which roads and which paths to choose in our life. So many things could happen in a life time that can bump you in the wrong direction altering your self- belief and you get stuck. I think we all have those moments of doubt of where do we go next when we feel like we reached our level to think forward. The inspiration just came from being human and observing things that happen in everyday life.”

W ho was involved in the making of this hit? “ I got the production from a producer who go by the name F reek V an W orkem. He is an amazing producer doing his thing. O nce I got the track I wrote the hook with a good friend and fellow artist Napalm and Ashley P atterson which is another artist to support the backgrounds of the hook. Then of course there was me and a great hiphop artist from The Chi, My Boy MarV o, he definitely spill on that track.”

Up to this point what was the most memorable moment in your career? “ At this point in my career was my initial meeting at Def Jam, meeting with the legendary Lenny S, That was a major milestone for me man. Thanks to my manager Rob for setting that up. Lenny is full of inspiration, and he really gave me some valuable information that I can now apply to my music to make it even better.”

Are there any current or future projects you would How did you come up with like to share? “ Inspired By your artist name? “ It was a Greatness is the project named my childhood that is in the fore front friends gave me, they knew right now, make sure you I was good with the ladies guys pick it up out there. so they just called me Trel W e still have tons of work Mack. to do for the Inspired By Greatness E.P . The video is W here is your Hometown? out for “ Dreams of a “ I was born and raised in W inner” ft. Shaun the city of P hiladelphia.” Chrisjohn and “ No Holding Back” coming soon. W e If you weren’ t in music have videos, performances, industry, what would be and even extensive your second career choice? promoting and marketing “ Great question, W ell if for the project. It’ s still you are not cancelling out fairly new but I am the entertainment industry definitely working on new as a whole, I probably projects now and they will would try to do some also be announced in due acting or something.” time.”

www.facebook.com/trelmack

www.hnsmag.com “ HO TTEST 4 BARS” In your opinion what is your hottest 4 bars you ever wrote? “ That’ s hard to say, I mean that’ s definitely a question I will have to let the fans decide on. However, on the E.P some of my favorite bars come from the song Still Here F t K enji. “ Actually it’ s the very first opening bars " It seems like I’ m just losing direction / or maybe I’ m just lost in my own imperfections / I got the footnotes if you wanna use me as a reference / Cause everyday in my life learn a viable lesson.” These days it’ s not easy to have both respect, and fame in this industry, If you had to choose one of the two, would you choose fame or respect? “ I was never the one really pressed over the fame, to me all fame is nothing more than a lot of people knowing who you are through big media out lets such as television. P eople want fame but it’ s a Job just to maintain your life around it, not to mention you can be famous for something that’ s not good. Artists also get the impression that famous equals rich. Nope, because you can be famous for being broke. W ith all that being said, I would rather have respect. W hen people

www.facebook.com/trelmack respect you it goes along way and can create awesome opportunities.” Do you have a website or fan page, where your fans can give you feedback and possibly get a response from you? “ Sure, TrelMack.com, you can catch me on facebook.com/ trelmack and twitter @ TrelMack. O h Y eah and definitely hit me up on the Instagram.”
