STEP 1: SUBMIT ARTWORK
Contact Hailey ( hailey@hoffmanfabrics.net ) to get started with your custom batiks!
Submit an 8” x 8” black and white drawing (JPEG or PDF; 300 dpi). This can be a black and white rendering of your business logo, local landmark, or favorite floweranything you can dream up! See example images to the right and below.
Please note: ultra fine lines cannot be captured in the process of making the copper chop/stamp. We may need to adjust any fine lines once you submit your design. We will approve your design and be in touch if there are any necessary changes.
*** Though it is preferable to submit a complete art file, our Design Department can offer creative design from our in-house team. Depending on the extent of art services needed, a fee may be required.
STEP 1: SUBMIT ARTWORK (CONTINUED)
Along with your design, please choose 10 colors that you would like to see your design in.
NOTE: We understand that you do not want to order 200 yards of 10 different colors. We ask that you choose 10 colors from our existing batik colors so that you have options to choose from in case one color doesn’t come out quite right.
REMEMBER, this is a 100% hand dyed and hand stamped process. No two pieces are the same, and we want you to have multiple colors to choose from.
The $200 set up fee will be charged when we submit your artwork and 10 color choices to our team in Bali. The set up fee covers the cost to create your copper chop/stamp & your first samples. See BONUS note in Step 3!
HOW TO PICK COLORS FOR SUBMISSION
If you would like a tonal (one color with mottling) design, we suggest that you provide us with existing 1895 colors that you would like to see your design in (example, 1895 123-Lapis, 1895 494-Raven, 1895 358-Vegas, etc.). If you are hoping for a more multi-colored look, we suggest that you reference our existing 885, 884 and current batik lines. All of these can be found on our website under Fabrics. For example, your list might include 885 337-Shirley, 884 135-Pastel, S2306 252-Dublin, etc. In total, we ask that you reference 10 current, existing Hoffman Bali batik colors so our team in Bali can create 10 samples for you to choose from!
STEP 2: SAMPLES & CHOOSING YOUR FINAL PICKS
• Hoffman Fabrics will send your artwork and color choices to our team in Bali. In approximately 4-6 weeks, we will physically send you the 10 sample pieces for you to see in person. These are called batik blankets.
• From your 10 blankets, you can choose the ones you would like for us to produce. Keep in mind, you will need to order 200 yards of each color that you choose.
• You will email Hailey ( hailey@hoffmanfabrics.net ) with your final pick(s). Each of your 10 samples will have a sticker on them. You do not need to send the physical samples back. Please just email an image of your final pick(s) and the information that is on the sticker to Hailey. This will turn into your official Purchase Order (PO).

STEP 3: BALI IS CREATING YOUR FABRICS
Bali is hard at work producing your dream Hoffman Bali Batiks! In approximately 8-12 weeks , Bali will ship us your custom Hoffman Bali Batiks! The fabrics will sail across the ocean to Southern California, and once we receive your batiks, we will ship it to you on bolts and your dream fabric will be in your hands!!!
BONUS!!!
The copper chop used to make your fabric is YOURS TO KEEP!
Our team in Bali will keep your copper chop/stamp in case you want to place a re-order of your custom Hoffman Bali Batiks. Once you decide that you are completely done ordering your custom design, you can email Hailey to let her know. With your $200 set-up fee, we will have Bali send us your personal copper chop/stamp for you to keep as a memory of your very own custom Hoffman Bali Batiks!!
WE CARE
Batik is an art form of Indonesian heritage. We strive to protect the art of batiking and the environment they are made in at the Hoffman Factory.
Over 15 years ago, we built a water reclamation facility at the Hoffman factory. This system of tanks rinses the dye water until the excess wax and dyes are cleared out and the water reaches its natural pH level. Only then, is the water returned to the environment.
To learn more about our water reclamation facility, please watch our video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/S5hcCVVIohA
