Fifth Annual Luncheon and

Keynote Address presented by

David Wolkoff Principal, Heartland Business Center

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 Noon to 2 p.m. 31189:5/11

Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies The Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University Please join us for the Fifth Annual Institute of Real Estate Luncheon at Hofstra University. Our mission is to promote professionalism in the real estate industry, and become a trusted source for real estate education, mentoring, information and networking. This annual luncheon brings together the leadership of the real estate community and offers the opportunity to interact with some of the most powerful and influential thinkers in economic development and real estate. We are very fortunate to have David Wolkoff as our keynote speaker this year. Mr. Wolkoff is a principal at Heartland Business Center, a privately owned real estate company in the New York tristate area. He oversees the acquisition, financing, management and development of major real estate projects. Currently, he is focused on the development of Heartland Town Square, a “smart growth” town in Suffolk County, as well as a 1.3 million-square-foot building in Long Island City, Queens. The Heartland Town Square is a $4 billion project that will transform an abandoned psychiatric hospital property into a 451-acre development, with 8,999 apartments, 3.4 million-square-feet of office space, and 1 million-square-feet of shops and restaurants. Before joining Heartland Business Center, Mr. Wolkoff worked in the lending and workout groups of Chemical Bank’s corporate real estate division from 1989 to 1993. Mr. Wolkoff is a member of the board of directors of F.E.G.S. Health and Human Services, one of the largest and most diversified voluntary, not-for-profit health, education and human services organizations in the United States. He is also involved in many other charitable organizations, but is especially fond of the Food Allergy Initiative (FAI), due to his son Zachary’s life-threatening allergies to nuts and peanuts. David Wolkoff is a graduate of Harvard University and received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He is devoted to his wife, Stephanie (managing director of fashion at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts), and their three children, Zachary, Tyler and Alexi. We look forward to Mr. Wolkoff’s presentation and to welcoming you to our luncheon.
