Office of Conference Services Welcome to Hofstra University Hofstra University is conveniently located on Long Island, New York, just 40 minutes outside of New York City and 25 minutes from three major airports. We are located five minutes from Roosevelt Field mall, Long Island’s largest indoor shopping center, and we are only a short drive from one of Long Island’s most beautiful beaches at Jones Beach State Park. ®

Our 240-acre campus is recognized as a national arboretum, offering a beautiful setting for you and your guests. We have more than 600 flexible meeting spaces available year-round, including conference rooms, technologically enhanced classrooms, theaters and banquet spaces, and our residential facilities can accommodate more than 4,000 guests from the beginning of June through mid-August. Whether your event requires overnight accommodations, dining options, meeting spaces or audiovisual services, our professional staff will assist and guide you through every phase of your event’s planning. Our combination of unique resources, excellent service and attention to detail is sure to guarantee a successful and memorable event for you and your guests.

Theater spaces Our diverse theater spaces are available for general meetings, lectures, performances or screenings. Seating capacity ranges from small groups to more than 1,000 guests. All Hofstra theaters are accessible to persons with disabilities and are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities.

Additional Spaces Outdoor spaces We offer beautiful outdoor settings for picnics, expos or fairs, and we can assist you with tent and outdoor furniture rentals.

Classroom spaces Whether you are hosting a small training class for 10 people or administering an exam for a group of 600, we offer a variety of classrooms of many different types and sizes.

East Library Wing, Room 246 Located on our South Campus, this large meeting room can accommodate up to 150 guests.

Summer Housing Hofstra University residence halls can accommodate up to 4,000 guests in several types of settings, ranging from suite-style with semiprivate baths to traditional dormitorystyle rooms with communal bathrooms. All rooms are air-conditioned.

Community Style This is an affordable option for summer camps. With approximately 200 beds per tower, you can easily manage a large group in just one building. There is one bathroom per gender, per floor. The tower buildings also offer lounges and a kitchenette for your convenience.

Suite Style Our suite complexes range from apartment-style buildings with more than 160 beds to small houses offering up to 50 beds per house. Each suite complex has an outdoor courtyard and an indoor lounge area complete with a kitchenette. Whether organizing a reunion, retreat or athletic camp, the suite-style buildings provide a community feel no matter how small or large your group. The Netherlands and Colonial Square complexes contain groups of two-story houses. The Nassau/Suffolk residence hall is composed of two buildings that share a common entrance and inner courtyard. Each building has six floors, with up to 200 beds per building. Stuyvesant Hall is a four-story residence offering suite-style accommodations with up to 160 beds. Each floor includes two large lounge areas.

Additional Services Dining Features: Dining cards are available for purchase and may be used at any dining facility on campus. You may choose a declining balance option for your guests by determining a spending amount per person on a day-to-day basis, or you may choose one of our existing dining plans with predetermined amounts per meal. Cash and credit cards are accepted at any of our dining facilities. Catering Options: Hofstra University is pleased to offer diverse catering options for groups of any size. We extend the same high standards and services whether your event is for a coffee break for a small group or a formal reception for thousands. Continental breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, barbecues and formal dinners are only a few of our specialties. Hofstra Catering Services is happy to accommodate any special dietary needs. We work diligently to make sure your event is both successful and memorable â&#x20AC;&#x201C; for you and your guests.

It’s All About Location Take advantage of Hofstra’s close proximity to local shopping, museums, beaches, concerts and sports events, and of course, New York City! We are also only 25 minutes from John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Long Island Mac Arthur Airports. Hofstra is also just minutes from convenient public transportation such as the Long Island Rail Road and the Nassau County bus system. New York City Enjoy the culture, entertainment, landmarks and shopping New York City has to offer. Hofstra offers daily scheduled (and complimentary) shuttle service to the Long Island Rail Road, which connects to New York City’s Penn Station. Jones Beach State Park Jones Beach State Park offers surf bathing along its 6.5 miles of ocean beach. The park is also home to the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, which includes environmental displays about the seashore, educational tours and programming for all ages. Eisenhower Park A 930-acre oasis of open space and recreation in the heart of Nassau County, Eisenhower Park is one of the largest public spaces in the New York metropolitan area. Roosevelt Field® Shopping Mall Love shopping? Visit Roosevelt Field® for some of the best shopping in the country, with more than 270 specialty stores. Long Island’s Museum Row Museum Row, a one-stop destination for some of Long Island’s finest museums, is home to the Long Island Children’s Museum, The Francis X. Pendl Nassau County Firefighters Museum, and the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum The Nassau Coliseum is a multipurpose indoor arena that is home to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League.
