Registering Your Car You must register your car at the David S. Mack Public Safety and Information Center. By registering your car, you are eligible to access the Breslin Hall parking facility, which is reserved for commuting students only! The David S. Mack Public Safety and Information Center is located at the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and California Avenue. Parking is free on both the North and South Campuses for all students. Getting to Hofstra by Train The Hofstra Blue Beetle and Hofstra Road Runner, our courtesy buses, both stop at the Hempstead and Mineola train stations every day. Office of Off-Campus Living and Commuting Student Services complements the University’s quality education by supporting non-resident students at Hofstra. The office connects students to the larger campus community, helps develop off-campus citizenship, and advocates for equal access to all University services. Our services include: 4Assessing the needs of the off-campus student population in order to coordinate and schedule activities and events that provide information for them. 4Advertising campus activities through our Hofstra web page and regular E-mail updates. By doing so, we promote not only our office, but also other departments across campus.
Off-Campus Housing We work with an off-campus housing service that helps students, faculty and staff locate places to live near Hofstra University. Non-resident students are encouraged to participate in all activities on campus, and are invited to stop by the Office of Student Leadership and Activities in 260 Mack Student Center, North Campus, or visit hofstra.edu/studentaffairs/studentactivities. The Mack Student Center is the heart of campus. Besides our office and many other offices within the Division of Students Affairs, the Student Center houses the Hofstra University Bookstore, the main dining room, the post office, a full-service hair salon, and much more!
4Encouraging students to get involved on campus, either in a club or organization, a sports team, intramural sports or on-campus employment.
The Game Room is located on the lower level of the Mack Student Center in Room 029, and is equipped with pool tables, televisions, couches and games; in addition, you are sure to find students chatting or relaxing in the Mack Student Center Lounge on the first floor!

The Office of Student Leadership and Activities enhances the cocurricular life of the Hofstra community by helping students become more involved through clubs, organizations, and the many events that are held throughout the year. The Organization of Commuter Students is just one of the more than 150 clubs and organizations you can join! In addition, this office coordinates leadership development programs for current and emerging student leaders.
