“A CAMPUS OF DIFFERENCE: FACILITATED DIFFICULT DIALOGUES ON SYSTEMS OF POWER, PRIVILEGE, AND OPPRESSION” Thursday, April 25, 2019 4:30–6 p.m. Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center Theater Axinn Library, First Floor, South Campus In the United States, prejudice and discrimination remain pervasive and imbedded in a system of power, privilege, and oppression. Higher education institutions are not immune to these systems. This presentation will focus on how to have difficult dialogues about systems of power, privilege, and oppression to aid in ensuring that Hofstra’s campus remains welcoming and inclusive for all. This event has been jointly sponsored by the Center for "Race," Culture and Social Justice Faculty Summer Research Grant 2018 and the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Office. Admission is FREE and open to the public.
