TRAVEL NEW YORK CITY
Gitano Island GRAND OPENING OF A SPECTACULAR NEW YORK CITY RESTAURANT & BEACH CLUB ON GOVERNORS ISLAND Grupo Gitano has just opened a waterfront Restaurant and Beach Club, serving Brunch, and Dinner, set in a 27,000-square-foot tropical oasis guaranteed to transport visitors and New Yorkers to Tulum. On the heels of a hot spot pop-up in Mexico City and the continued success of its notable venues in Tulum and Miami Beach, this global hospitality gave New York City a much-needed tropical escape from the concrete jungle, without a flight to Mexico or even the long drive to the Hamptons and Montauk. This tropical oasis of lush greenery and bohemian brio brings locals an air of Tulum without ever leaving New York City. GITANO Island has lined up giant palm trees and hundreds of tropical plants. It has a dramatic 600-capacity Restaurant and Beach Club that includes an iconic black Bedouin Dining Tent, twin Dining Pergolas, and Open Fired Kitchen. It also has a Beach Club complete with lounges and cabanas, a new CLUB GITANO members lounge centered around a 40’ water feature, a giant disco ball suspended over the water, and a tented stage. They serve signature Mezcal Cocktails, and an authentic, Modern Mexican Menu cooked on an open fire. The music program features a blend of Classic and Nu Disco, House Music, Afrobeats, and Latin Music with live acts and selectors, including House legends, Disco darlings, international touring shows, and some of NYC’s hottest talents. A two-minute walk away from the Governors Island Ferry, guests can easily access the Governors Island Ferry, which departs daily from the Battery Maritime Building, located at 10 South Street and from Brooklyn on weekends. https://www.gitano.com/nyc
