magazine

For all Latinos and those who love the Latino Lifestyle

Nancy Esteves Editor-in-Chief

It may sound cliché and you’ve probably heard this a lot lately, but the holidays are right around the corner…--are you ready for Thanksgiving?. In this edition, we have a nice turkey recipe for you to share with your loved ones and friends. But most importantly, I would like to share some great quotes on gratitude written by some of the most inspirational people—food for thought for Thanksgiving: -”If you count all your assets, you always show a profit.” Robert Quillen -”Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” Robert Brault -”As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy -”Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” Charles Dickens -”The way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement.” Charles Schwab -”Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey -”Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” Buddha -”Silent gratitude isn’t very much to anyone.” Gertrude Stein -”You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late.” Ralph Waldo Emerson -”When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” Willie Nelson -”Gratitude also opens your eyes to the limitless potential of the universe, while dissatisfaction closes your eyes to it.” Stephen Richards -”Gratitude and attitude are not challenges; they are choices.” Robert Braathe -”In life, one has a choice to take one of two paths: to wait for some special day--or to celebrate each special day.” Rasheed Ogunlaru.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all I give Thanks!

Thoughtful furniture I

’m very passionate about bringing awareness to the cruel treatment of animals. I’m continually thinking about how I can help and also educate others about the horror stories of breeding farms for furs, the slaughterhouses and dairy farms. I was completely ignorant of the inhumane pain and suffering that animals endure during their horrible life in order for my clients and myself to sit on a leather sofa made from the skin of a cow. I had no idea of the brutality, torture and often death that a beautiful lamb suffers while being sheared for the wool of an area rug. The stories are endless and disgraceful. Interior design doesn’t have to harm or endanger the beautiful animals that inhabit our world. I’m now doing my best to incorporate materials and furnishings that do not use any animal parts such as leather, wool, fur or any other animal skins. It’s been an interesting journey so far and not as challenging as I believed it would be. For example, a linen or cotton pillowcase with a down alternative insert can be found in almost every major retail store such as Restoration

Hardware, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn and Target. There are endless options and vegan fabrics are much CHEAPER than silks and wools. It’s a win-win all around. Here’s a list of a few materials that are “vegan,” meaning they are manufactured free of any animal parts and a few images of Vegan DiMare Design projects; -cotton -microfiber (used a lot on durable sofas, great for families) -polyester -hemp -sisal -linen -down alternatives (healthier in every way, especially for those who suffer with allergies)

It’s simply about making the decision to help the earth and our animals. As Gandhi said “The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” I look forward to your thoughts, questions and ideas.

LA NOCHE DE LA POESIA ERÓTICA

L

Toyota’s latest concept car can one day help to reduce your home’s energy bill. Toyota believes that hydrogen will power the future and they are preparing new vehicle designs for this evolution. The FCV Plus was designed to convert its hydrogen gas into electricity that can be used to power homes and offices. This concept vehicle uses a built-in hydrogen tank to operate, but it can also be hooked up to an external tank which allows it to work as a generator for home. Only time will tell if hydrogen becomes a primary power source, but either way Toyota will be ready.

Project Loon Google’s new parent company, Alphabet, is working to spread the Internet to regions in the world that still don’t have access. Using highflying balloons, the company aims to beam Wi-Fi connections to hardto-reach locations across the planet. The project will begin testing these solar- and battery-powered balloons in Indonesia before launching commercially. With roughly 4 billion people around the world still lacking Internet access, this could definitely be a game-changer.

“LA VIDA LOCA”

Miami prepares for Art Basel

Pamela Diaz-de-Leon Sims Pamela@pamelaslist.com La Vida Loca in Miami begins the first week of December. Be ready to feel like you are at Rodeo Drive, Malibu, the Hamptons, Aspen, – all in one place. It’s not because Miami looks like any of these places, but Miami becomes Ms. Glamorous for its visitors to the Art Basel. From Miami Beach to downtown Miami-we will have a week of creative energy in town like no other place in the world. This only takes place the first five days of December. This is the time visitors are able to enjoy the Art of the world exposed in one place and do so in great spring weather during the winter season. Miami is evolving into a cosmopolitan city of the millennia era. 26 | November 2015 | www.holalatinonews.com

If you have no idea where to begin your journey, I suggest you start at the Hotels. Tour the most eccentric and sophisticated beach hotels like the SLS or the W art collections, and then move to emerging art collections like the Catalina. Many private events take place and are booked in advance with prominent art collectors and dealers. All the empty spaces available for lease or sale are used for “pop-up” events or single artist exhibits. Prepare in advance where you want to be and who you want to see! Between traffic and flocks of visitors you may be lost. Aficionados in this season are buying real estate at the same price they are buying pieces of art. It’s pretty fantastic!

HOLA CARIBE ESCAPE TO ARUBA By: Nancy Esteves (nanholalatinos@gmail.com)

W

hen we dream of a Caribbean vacation, images of crystalline turquoise waters, white-sand beaches and luxurious indulgences come to mind. There are many amazing destinations in the Caribbean that match this description but on the top of my favorite list you’ll find Aruba. For those that haven’t been to Aruba, this tiny island located 15 miles north of Venezuela, (19.6 by 6 miles long) is actually the most touristic island in the Southern Caribbean. The “No-worries-One Happy Island” Aruban attitude makes it the perfect place to unwind and live out a Caribbean vacation fantasy. Breathtaking sunset views, beautiful blue waters, warm trade winds and friendly people will definitely get you in happy mode quickly. The magic happens as you step out of the airport-- an overwhelmingly calm and happy sensation takes over.

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful

Aruba is blessed with guaranteed great weather year round. Boasting one of the top ten picture-perfect beaches in the Caribbean, these pristine waters offer unforgettable memories--great for kids as the waters are calm, unrivaled powder white sand for them to frolic in, world-class hotels, great water sports, lots to do so you can create those great instagramable moments. And for us big kids, even though it’s laid back, there’s still exquisite dining, chic bars and a slew of daytime and nighttime action making it an ideal choice for a perfect Caribbean escape. 30 | November 2015 | www.holalatinonews.com | Travel

I am an avid fan of the Dutch Caribbean and what I like most about Aruba is its distinctive beauty. A land of striking contrasts: casinos alongside desert landscapes-- cacti with surf--Dutch language and Papiamento (the native language, a blend of Portuguese, Dutch, Spanish and West African). And its shopping!--from local crafts to Louis Vuitton (duty-free prices too).

Must Dine at Restaurants,” shoes prohibited; you can literally wiggle your toes in the sand. As you can see pictured, the lobster tail is phenomenal; it even comes with a side of lobster bisque! My colleagues ordered the macadamian crusted snapper which they raved about, and we all loved the scallops and crab appetizer.

Aruba is a happy melting pot. Interestingly enough, there are currently just over 100,000 inhabitants on the island but there are over 96 different nationalities making it very multicultural. The people are welleducated, speak four languages and have a zest for hospitality.

Aruba Gastronomic Affair —the food on

Aruba was non-stop amazing and for a foodie like me, I was in true paradise. Definitely fits the description “Dushi,” a favorite local word used for many things like delicious or things beloved and sweet-- even people are called “Dushi” here. The local food here is exceptional and there are hundreds of world-class international restaurants featuring Caribbean fusion cuisine. What marks the difference in Aruba’s culinary experience?--Tables on top of powdery sand offering amazing views.

Aruba Marriott’s Simply Fish Restaurant is right on the beach. It’s listed as one of Trip Advisor’s “Top 10

As part of The Eat Local Aruba Restaurant Week, we had a chance to explore Aruba’s culinary heritage by sampling locally inspired dishes. A totally different dining experience was held at Screaming Eagle as we literally speaking dined in bed; they served us an absolutely amazing scrumptious gourmet meal in a canopy bed. In South Beach Style, we enjoy chic French fusion cuisine. Chef Erwin Hüsken has received great praise for his culinary accomplishment!

My dinner companion was Marriott’s lovely Stacy Banfield, Pictured (right)

TRAVEL GUIDE

For a Dutch treat, Linda’s Dutch Pancakes offers gluten free pancakes- with ham, cheese and pineapple— heavenly. I also visited a cozy local restaurant called West Deck where I enjoyed a sunset dinner featuring delicious lobster and shrimp cocktail, mojitos served inside a coconut, balashis (the local beer) and a huge portion of fresh catch and local bread, called Pan Bati, which resembles and tastes like pancakes.

Wind, Water and The Wild Side of Aruba

By the wild side, I mean the northern coast, an unusual landscape of cacti, twisted divi-divi trees and abandoned gold mines. So my off -road jeep safari provided by De Palm Tours, took our group through the rugged Busibirana Gold Mill Ruins, next to it you can make a wish in the Rock Wish Garden, where tourists come to build their own devotional towers of stones. Back in the 1400’s and 1500’s, adventurers traveled throughout the Caribbean in search of gold. According to legend, one of these treasure islands was named “Oro Ruba,” which means “red gold,” now known as Aruba. In 1824, gold was finally discovered in Aruba, and eventually, the industry produced more than 3 million pounds of gold. Our jeep safari took our group through the Arikok National Park, where we encountered dramatic landscapes. The park houses The Quadirikiri, Fontein and Huliba caves where you will discover Arawak Indian drawings. It also protects bats that have made their home inside. The bats are nocturnal and harmless. You can also get thereby hiking (definitely not for me), mountain biking or horseback riding. There are plenty herds of goats and donkeys, rabbits, birds and reptiles enjoying the park. We had some “too- closefor-comfort” encounters of friendly donkeys.

Cooking Class with Chef Miguel Garcia

We had a great time with Aruba Marriott’s Chef Garcia where he taught a class on making the traditional Keshi Yena, an Aruban main course dish, consisting of a large round ball of Gouda cheese stuffed with spiced meat. This hands-on award winning chef caters to all the guest special requests. The Keshi Yena was amazingly tasty. (We’ve included the recipe on p. 35).

HOLA CARIBE

TRAVEL GUIDE ESCAPE TO ARUBA

At Arikok you will also find Diamari Beach, Dos Playa and Boca Prins, which are popular beaches to visit but the water can be rough and currents strong, so swimming is not recommended. However, if you continue the trek, you can discover Aruba’s amazing hidden treasure -- the Natural Pool, called Conchi, perfect for a cool dip! Getting there was quite bumpy, but it you like to Indiana- Jones-it, it’s most definitely worth it. Then it was off to Baby Beach in Seroe Colorado, joined by the “Getaway Girls” (Courtney Scott and Kiersten Rich) who were filming and episode with their go pros. Baby Beach is a man-made lagoon and offers some of the best snorkeling on the island. The beach’s extensive coral reefs offer a kaleidoscope of coral and tropical fish. The extremely shallow waters offer a safe swim for small children—that’s why it’s called Baby Beach.

Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) Yoga

It was my last day. I wasn’t sure I could do this but… check out the photo! I nailed the warrior pose, sun salutations and more…

For fans of stand up paddle boarding (SUP), the calm coastal waters of Palm Beach by the Marriott is a serene venue for the sport, giving paddlers a unique perspective of the island while getting a full-body exercise workout. Rachel Brathen, of Island SUP, inspired me to “go for it,” so we took a very energizing and grounding yoga class. Accommodations- In Palm Beach Aruba you will find sugary white sand beaches and the gloriously blue Caribbean Sea as the backdrop to the luxurious world-class Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, which has recently undergone a $50 million renovation. Modernly decorated, it maintains an elegant minimalistic feel and features oversized rooms with great balconies and impeccable service. 32 | November 2015 | www.holalatinonews.com | Travel

HOLA CARIBE TRAVEL GUIDE ESCAPE TO ARUBA

Pampering: Balinese style interior design, the Mandara Spa at the neighboring Aruba Marriott Ocean club is the largest professional spa on the island and includes VIP couple treatment rooms. Even Aloe & Milk Bath Wraps! HAPPENINGS ON ARUBA

Each month there’s a festival or concert happening. Recently, the Aruba International Film Festival was hosted by Hollywood stars Tyrese Gibson and Virginia Madsen. Jazz and Latin lovers count on an incredible experience at the annual Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival, Soul Beach Music Festival and of course Carnavalthe biggest event of the year, as is their New Year’s Eve Firework extravaganza!

BAREFOOT FOOTPRINTS

Palm Beach and Eagle Beach are beyond breathtaking. Whether it’s the perfect winds of Boca Grandi for kite surfing, the stunning reefs of Mangel Halto for snorkeling and diving, or the waves of Andicuri for body surfing you’ve arrived to beach heaven. I’m in love with the small, secluded beach by Malmomk, Boca Catalina on the way to the lighthouse, the view and the water will leave a forever lasting impression. Hadicuri, is a great place to wind surf as the trade winds can be as strong as 20mph, so hold on to your hats! But most importantly, don’t forget to leave your barefoot footprints on your favorite beach!

GREEN INITIAVES

I had the opportunity to take a tour of Aruba’s agricultural department’s green initiative. Since there is little in the way of vegetation, produce is basically imported. The department is currently assisting farmers to grow their own crops and now locally run green houses and farmers markets have surged. Aruba is actually at the forefront of the energy revolution. Ten large windmills line the rugged eastern coast. Within 10 years, 100% of the island’s energy will come from renewable sources.

KESHI YENA RECIPE

keshi Yena a traditional delicacy from the Dutch Caribbean islands. It’s a delicious mixture of chicken and peppers, capers, olives and tomatoes traditionally baked in a Gouda cheese shell. Below is Chef Miguel Garcia’s amazing recipe. Recipe Courtesy: Chef Miguel Garcia, Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino Serves 10-12 For the chicken filling, rub with the juice of several limes: • chicken breast Season the breasts and thighs with: • Salt and pepper • Poultry seasoning • Shallots • Garlic • Minced onion Let them stand for several hours. Then either arrange the pieces in a shallow baking dish, and after browning the chicken under the broiler, bake it for one hour at 350°, deboning it when cool enough to handle, or choose this more frugal method of preparation. Brown the chicken in three tablespoons butter, and then place it in a heavy kettle with: • 4 quarts water • 2 tsp. salt • 12 peppercorns • 1 or 2 onions • 1 celery stalk with leaves • bay leaf, bruised Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for twenty minutes, or just until chicken is tender. Strain and reserve the broth, discarding the vegetables Debone the chicken and set aside.

After the chicken has been prepared by one of the above methods, sautéed in two tablespoons butter or olive oil : • 3 cups Tomatoes diced • 3 cups Onion diced • 3 Cups Bell Pepper Diced • 3oz Chopped Garlic Add and stir in well: • 5oz Cocktail Onions • 5oz Green Olives • 4oz Raisin • 3oz Cashew Nut • 1 Tbs. parsley, minced, or a few drops Tabasco sauce • 12oz Catchup • Salt and pepper to taste Simmer until the tomatoes are reduced, about twenty or thirty minutes. Remove from the fire and permit mixture to cool. If keshi yena is to be baked, preheat oven. Add rest of ingredients, stir well and place in 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Top with sliced cheese. *** 10 oz Dutch Gouda, sliced Bake covered loosely with tin foil, 350 degrees for about 60 minutes.50°, if it is to be steamed, begin heating water in the bottom of a double boiler.

36 | November 2015 | www.holalatinonews.com | Beauty / Belleza

PANCHAKARMA:

Rejuvenecimiento Completo

I

PANCHAKARMA: The Ultimate Cleansing

W

hat if once a year we took stock of our health and give ourselves the time and space to feel, to heal, to cleanse and rejuvenate our bodies, and to purge unresolved emotions? And what if the byproduct of this effort was the development of habits and lifestyle that supports our longterm wellness? In Ayurveda such a healing process is called Panchakarma. There is a direct relationship between our resistance to illness and the balance of our doshas, including the strength of our digestion and elimination. When our bodies accumulate toxins, we lose the ability to properly discriminate between good and bad cravings. Our altered cravings attract us to foods and substances that feed our toxic state causing further imbalance and illness. When we make the conscious effort to give ourselves proper foods, rest, physical movements that reduce stress and practice daily meditation, we effectively release the tension and blockages in our system. The power of that cleansing helps us feel connected to our divinity and our resistance to illness becomes stronger.

What to expect from Panchakarma? 1. A preliminary stage of preparation in which you are asked to eliminate meats,

dairy, alcoholic beverages and caffeine from your diet for at least one week. 2. The first step is called oleation therapy in which you are given external oleation by massage and steam, plus heat therapy, and internal oleation to mobilize toxins from the body. 3. A daily basic diet of lentils, rice and teas to further assist moving toxins to the gastrointestinal tract to be eliminated. 4. The next process is the elimination of toxins using gentle cleansing therapies of the digestive system with herbalized oils to treat the deeper tissues and eliminate fat/soluble toxins. 5. The last process is the rejuvenation stage. Ayurveda assesses that once the toxins have been eliminated, it is a crucial time to begin replenishing the body with natural food and herbs, revitalizing massage treatments, and healing practices such as yoga and meditation. Panchakarma is ideal for everyone that wants to improve their health, reduce stress, detoxify the body after chemotherapy or alleviate chronic pain and fatigue.

BARK THOU CRYSTAL MEW PERSUASIAN By: Annette Reine & Romeo Romeo@castapet.com

D

o you remember the song Crystal Blue Persuasion? Pet’s get the blues when we get sickly from eating dry food. Pet food companies are persuasive. We didn’t know. My feline sibling Katrinka became diabetic with irritable bowel syndrome IBS. Many Vets are married to so called prescription diets. Pet food companies influence through sponsorship? Food Politics is costing us our lives. If your pet winds up diabetic and you don’t have the funds to pay for insulin, syringes, canned and homemade foods, continuous Vet visits at $150 and up and then you will have to put your pet down. I will take a tooth brush any day over having the wool pulled over my eyes that a kernel of dry food will clean my teeth. Talk about kernels Howloween is coming I wish I could eat candy corn, oh well being a dog can be a drag. One reason is nutrition is not something they really focus on in Vet school and the big pet food companies are sponsors. Cats will be so much healthier if they are fed a canned food diet instead of Kat Kibble Krap. Feeding your cat dry food puts them at risk of life-threatening expensive illnesses. Is your Vet nutrition savvy? If not consult with Vets who are. There are many nationwide you may call for a consultation. Vets who only promote Hills and Purina are not the best. Dry food is inappropriate and only promotes disease. Our Grandmother’s Doctor

never once told her about the Mediterranean diet for her diabetes. Many Doctors/Vets do not know much about nutrition. We found many to be so close minded without any knowledge of homemade recipes or sources for unprocessed foods. Whatʼs wrong with dry Kibble Kat Krap including any prescription diet that is sold by your veterinarian? The negative issues associated with dry food are: 1) water content is too low - predisposing your cat to serious and life-threatening urinary tract diseases including extremely painful and often fatal expensive urethral obstructions suffering caused by feeding cats water-depleted diets. 2) carbohydrate load is too high - possibly predisposing your cat to diabetes, obesity, and intestinal disease. Deceitful that toxic bacteria and fungus contained in the dry food grains causing vomiting and diarrhea as well as insects and feces that cause respiratory problems and allergic reactions and harsh cooking methods which destroy nutrients. Did you ever see your cat strain to pee or die from a ruptured bladder or had to be rushed to ER for an inflamed bladder? They don’t send an ambulance. Serious emergencies are extremely uncommon among cats fed canned food especially if extra water is added to the canned food. The new trend is Grain Free this does not mean “lowcarb” since potatoes and peas are often used instead

Cats have to get their water from their diet. Prior to being domesticated their prey is approx 70 percent water. Feeding your cat canned, raw or homemade food is cleansing. Cats are obligate strict carnivores and are very different from dogs in their nutritional needs. In their natural setting, cats would never consume the high level of carbohydrates grains/potatoes/peas, etc. that are in the dry foods and some canned foods that are fed. In the wild, your catʼs normal prey rodents, birds and lizards provides a high protein, high-moisture, meat-based diet, with a moderate level of fat and with less than 2% of diet consisting of calories from carbs. Do you trust your Vet’s nutrition advice who sells dry Kibble Kat Krap?

of grains. Cats are strict carnivores which means they are designed to get their protein from meat – not from the high level of grains/peas/potatoes found in dry food. There is no scientific evidence that Kibble Krap cleans your pets teeth. You could give some chunks of meat. It is less expensive to feed your Cat canned food in the long run than paying costly Vet bills. Cats Need Plenty of Water With Their Food which is why the low-carb, grain free dry foods are not good. The cheapest canned food is better than any dry food. We feel betrayed when we see the Vet’s office selling bags of dry Kibble Krap.

Fotos: Chino Lemus

“Try to forget about all of the issues in life. Be yourself tonight.” “Allow yourself to feel – that’s what I’m here for. I’m going to leave my soul on the stage tonight.”

Ricky Martin Rocks the AAA with “Adrenalina” By: Nancy Esteves (nanholalatinos@gmail.com)

R

icky Martin came to Miami for his “One World Tour,” the most anticipated concert of the season with amazing adrenaline. Looking more sexy and handsome than ever, Ricky completely surrendered to his Miami audience and put on an almost two-hour long stunning performance. Many popular celebrities came to the show to see this Latin powerhouse live in concert and shared it on social media. The party started right at the beginning of the concert, as he had the audience shaking their “Bon-Bons” to the sounds of his contagious music and kept them going all night long. The show opened with special guest, the reggaeton artist, Wisin who revved up the concert for Ricky’s hit song “Adrenalina(Adrenaline)” totally rumbling the Miami Airlines Arena. By the number of Latin American flags representing different countries, it was certain that the performance had a very large attendance by the local Latino community. Speaking directly to the public, Ricky set the tone for his performance: “Try to forget about all of the issues in life. Be yourself tonight “” Allow yourself to feel - that’s what I’m here for. I’m going to leave my soul on the stage.”… Wow, Ricky was totally inspirational... During “Livin ‘La Vida Loca” - Ricky came on stage mounted on top of a Mustang convertible, in Elvis Presley style. The audience did not stop dancing all night with his hit songs, “María”, “La Bomba” and

“Pégate”. “Vuelve”, “Adiós”, “La Mordidita”, “Tu Recuerdo”, and “Disparo al Corazon” were some of the audience’s favorite tunes. “Por Arriba, Por Abajo” was an audience integrated dance-along. And of course everyone had to sing-along with Ricky the catchy tune “Vuelve” and his romantic tune “Adios” and “The Cup of Life / La Copa de Vida” – the show offered great Broadway-style performances.

AND THE UNEXPECTED POWERFUL STATEMENT:

Before more than 15,000 fans at American Airlines Arena, Ricky sent an important message to Donald Trump and asked Latinos in America to “be united” and “not let anyone subject us.” “In this country, without us ... no one goes to the White House,” he said in reference to Trump’s recent anti-immigrant commentary.

A VERY TOUCHING PRESENTATION:

His emotional rendition of “Asignatura Pendiente” was the preamble to the presentation of his Ricky Martin Foundation, which for years he has passionately fought against worldwide human trafficking. But Ricky left us all in the city of 305 with just a bite “una mordidita” of his music, still longing for more of those Ricky Martin magic concert moments…….

Sibarita the sibarite corner Luis Alberto Pelayo Sybarite/ Coach and Wine consultant lpelayo@me.com

We said in the last article that wine and food should be forever one, but not even for people is it that simple to locate that “perfect partner”. Some bad advice from our wise ancestors tell us that “white meat goes with white wine and red meat with red wine” is not just a little false and simplistic, but usually unfortunate and exasperatingly basic. We have witnessed heavenly and unforgettable alliances, such as the archetypal fusion between Foi gras and Sauterne, or any Caviar and Sparkling and even better with a noble Champagne, Cava, Prosecco; or Norwegian lobster, cockles, barnacles or Seafood with a good white, such as a Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay surmountable only with the best kept secret of Galicia, the very special and wonderful Alabariño; or red Gran Reserva harmonized with fillets of Deer, Pheasant or hare with grapes, or wild boar Civet (and yes, also with a good ‘ole traditional BBQ); or a meditation wine or Oporto Tawny, in company with a good cigar. But we have also seen great dishes adversely affected by picking the wrong partner, completely ruining the marriage. To avoid this there are many sources that can guide you, but with just a simple email, I will be more than pleased to give you a suggestion. Salud, Salute, Sacté, Cheers! Bon appétit. See you soon!!! We will continue with our enological saga next month, suggesting partnerships with everyday meals, including fast food, organic and slow cooked simple meals.
