WELCOME TO HOLY CROSS COLLEGE! Dear Friends, During my time here, I have been fortunate to learn that Holy Cross College is a truly distinctive place. I think the pages that follow will bring you a sense of this remarkable community; one that offers a meaningful, contemporary liberal arts education in the Catholic tradition. The College is unique within the tri-campus community of Notre Dame, Indiana, for many reasons. Here, students take part in small classes led by expert faculty who care about their development, success, and sense of leadership. I assure you, you will be challenged. You will be offered countless opportunities, not only here on campus, but throughout the tri-campus, the greater community, and the world over, to develop as a global citizen at work for the common good. During your time at Holy Cross, and thereafter, you will make a difference for a world in need of change. You will stand apart in the workplace and in the world as someone with the competency to see and the courage to act. Open to all, true to our roots, and bold in our identity of being followers of Christ, we are scholars, citizens, leaders, and disciples. We are Holy Cross College. You’re most welcome here. In Holy Cross,
Reverend David T Tyson, C.S.C. President

This isn’t a typical college, so don’t expect a typical day Holy Cross College is a welcoming community— there is no one “type” of Holy Cross student. Rather, we come together from many places and backgrounds to form one community. And as part of the tri-campus, with Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s, our community forms one of the most unique social networks in Catholic higher education. There is always something going on! One of the main features of Holy Cross is residential life. We offer an array of housing options for students, from single rooms to shared apartments. Living on campus provides an amazing opportunity to form close-knit friendships that will last a lifetime. And let’s talk about food. Chef Brent Gregory and his team, who prepare amazing meals every day in our dining hall, are part of the Notre Dame Campus Dining team, which is ranked as one of the best in the nation. Another unique part of student life is the opportunity to grow in faith and character. As we often say, we are distinctly Catholic and open to all. This means that all Holy Cross students benefit from our strong Campus Ministry programs, which include Bible studies, retreats, and even pilgrimages to holy sites around the world. The Holy Cross brothers and priests who live and serve on campus are another great resource to help you grow spiritually. This growth—academic, social, and spiritual— is the heart of the Holy Cross College mission.

PREPARE YOURSELF TO BE A LEADER IN THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY
LIBERAL ARTS
Tradition Holy Cross College’s core curriculum reflects a deeply rooted intellectual tradition; one that forms students as scholars, citizens, leaders, and disciples. This tradition, paired with hands-on experiential learning, is what sets our students and graduates apart in the workplace and the world. We have small classes taught by professors who challenge your mind and engage your spirit. Take part in soulful debates and discussions about the questions that matter most to you and our world. We remain deeply committed to personal, interactive forms of learning because of our roots in the centuries-old liberal arts tradition. Since ancient Greece, the great goal of education has been to find the practical wisdom necessary to know and pursue what is true, good, and beautiful. This foundation prepares us not only to earn a living, but to build a life that matters. Moreover, in the Catholic intellectual tradition, we explore the great questions from the perspective not only of reason but of faith. Students come to Holy Cross from many backgrounds and wanting to select many different majors. In the field you choose, you will gain the necessary skills and core competencies to move into a career or graduate school. But all Holy Cross students, regardless of major, receive a timeless liberal arts education that brings you to the deepest level of understanding yourself and the world around you.

THE FAFSA The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine your eligibility for federal, state, and institutional need-based assistance. Even if you do not qualify for need-based aid, completing the FAFSA makes you eligible for certain Federal Direct Loan Programs. School Code: 007263
FEDERAL AID PROGRAMS The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal need-based aid, including federal grants, direct subsidized loans, and work-study programs. Regardless of need, those who submit the FAFSA are eligible for direct unsubsidized loans.
STATE AID PROGRAMS Indiana residents may be eligible for State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI) grants, including the Frank O’Bannon Grant (Freedom of Choice Award and Higher Education Award) and 21st Century Scholars Program. The FAFSA will be used to determine your eligibility. The FAFSA deadline for Indiana state aid is April 15.
HOLY CROSS ASSISTANCE GRANT The Holy Cross Assistance Grant is need-based, offered directly by Holy Cross College. Again, the FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility.
CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT On-campus employment, federal work-study positions and otherwise, is recommended to help cover personal expenses like books and supplies. Because campus employment opportunities are limited, many students find employment with one of our tri-campus partners.
MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN A payment plan allows families to pay each semester’s balance through monthly installments, making paying for college manageable through our partners at the Notre Dame Federal Credit Union or Nelnet.
PARENT PLUS LOAN Parents of students who submit the FAFSA can apply for the Parent Direct PLUS Loan to help cover remaining need, including indirect costs. The Direct PLUS Loan is available regardless of demonstrated need.
