How are we doing?
At Home Instead, we strive to provide the highest possible care service: Care that is compassionate, responsive, empathetic and reliable. We are rated the No 1 care provider by healthcare intelligence experts LaingBuisson®. However, we never want to rest on our laurels. It is our aim to continuously improve and that includes changing things you tell us we are not doing so well at and keep doing things that you say we are, but doing them better. We will shortly be issuing a questionnaire which we ask
that you take just a few moments of your time to complete. It really will help us make a huge difference in what we do to go the extra mile in meeting the needs of our clients. The survey is anonymous so we encourage people to be open and honest with their feedback.
We look forward to your response and are committed to acting on your feedback
Luke’s 300 miles for Alzheimer’s Society Luke Norbury, Director of Home Instead Senior Care York & Ryedale, last week completed a bike ride from London to Paris with the final leg of his ride on Saturday 13th May. It was a 300 mile ride, after 95 miles from London to Dover on Day 1, Luke developed tendonitis in his knee so the remaining 3 days were painful! For some reason, he thought northern France was flat – he now knows it is not! Lots of people were kind enough to donate when Luke originally planned to do the ride last year, however, due to an injury, the ride had to be rescheduled. Luke was doing the ride to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to us at Home Instead Senior Care as we provide support for people who have Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia on a daily basis.
It was Luke’s father-in-law John Roche who originally inspired him to do the ride. He has vascular dementia and although he has coped well, it’s not the way any of us would choose to live out our later lives. It would be fantastic if you could help make Luke feel that the dodgy knee, and the incredibly sore backside he acquired over the 300 miles from London to Paris, has helped contribute to the work that the Alzheimer’s Society is doing to find a cure and to find ways to improve the lives of people who are already living with some form of dementia. If you would like to donate, please visit Luke’s Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ Luke-Norbury2 Luke funded the cost of the ride so every penny you donate goes straight to the charity. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
