A question of attitude
We do Wood is Danish designer furniture based on the vision that eminent design and strict sustainable principles should go hand in hand. The strong vision of sustainability that permeates the work of Henrik Thygesen and Sebastian Jørgensen has played a role in setting new standards in the world of Danish design, and We Do Wood is often described as a significant contribution towards making sustainable furniture production interesting in wider circles.

Sebastian Jørgensen Designer and Creative Director Sebastian is a skilled furniture cabinetmaker and a teacher in art. Sebastian’s design is also beautifully influenced by his artistic background.
Sustainability Bamboo is a sustainable and environmentally correct material that lives up to the ethical demands we place on our furniture. Bamboo is the world’s fastest growing evergreen species of grass. Bamboo grows without insecticides, inorganic fertilizer or herbicides. Therefore, the natural animal and plant life of the habitat are not damaged by cultivation. Bamboo re-circulates large volumes of CO2 and produces 35 percent more oxygen than other plants in the same regions and in so doing contributes to cleaning the climate whilst it grows. The type of bamboo We Do Wood uses is ready for cutting after 4–6 years and in this period the plant manages to re-circulate the same volumes of CO2 as
an oak tree doesin a couple of centuries. Thus, on the CO2 account it can be worthwhile transporting the sustainable material from Asia instead of using Nordic wood types. Bamboo is a strong material that is also easy to work with. It makes it possible to minimize the use of glue and thus the use of the carcinogenic substance, formaldehyde, to a level far below the official Danish requirements. Processing of bamboo: Cleaning of bamboo is done by damp cloth and soap. Maintenance is done by sanding with fine sandpaper (grain 180) in the fiber direction after the furniture oil is applied. Excess oil wiped off after approx. 15 minutes.
