The Nomination by Petition process contained in the By-Laws is explained in detail by Wade Hensel our General Manager at every District election. Taken directly from the By-Laws: “Directors from those nominated by the District Meetings and/or by petition will be elected at the Annual Meeting of the cooperative by written ballot of those members present and voting at the Annual Meeting”. There is nothing unusual about the process that put my name on the ballot for the election of District 4.

Suicides are continuing to rise and we at Yellow Ribbon are planning to host a Call to Action for the Mankato area April 27th In 2013 there were 683 suicides in Minnesota; thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s up nearly 100 a year from only 10 years ago (496 Minnesota suicides in 2003).

In the last 5 years there have been 60 youth (aged 12 -18) suicides in Blue Earth and Nicollet county; 1 youth suicide per month. According to the 2013 Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 17.2% of 9th graders and 18.2% of 11th graders nationally seriously considered attempting suicide in the past 12 months.
